Gunman

Who are they?

The Gunslinger is a master marksman. Preferring the advancements and firepower of technological weapons, the Gunslinger has set aside traditional bows and thrown weapons in favor of pistols and rifles. The Gunslinger's skills with a firearm are unmatched, but it is not enough just to have good aim. A master Gunslinger must also train his body to be lithe and agile. He must be able to endure long periods in one position for hunting or conversely to use acrobatic skills to aid him in swift combat situations. Many Gunslingers choose engineering as a profession so that they may craft their own weapons and ammunition.

Though Gunslingers do not share the outdoor prowess of the Ranger or Wilderness Stalker, they are not completely foreign to it. Gunslingers often take on an animal companion to keep them company on hunting expeditions. As well, though Gunslingers are not able to blend in to their environment, they can act swiftly in some situations and appear to disappear from sight. While Gunslingers claim they do not rely on magic, they often retain a magical glow upon their hands as evidence of the driving force behind such quick skills. As such, the Gunslinger has learned to adapt magical effects to his/her shots.

Who likes them?

They wouldn't likely have any allies or enemies purely as a result of their class.

The nature-friendly races see the use of technology in general as an affront to their way of life, so it's possible that some members of such races would feel the same way toward the Gunslinger. Although, it's more likely they'd be disliked for their race rather than their class since there are Gunslingers among all races.

Training Outline

The Gunslinger, being a master of the use and manufacture of firearms, must train to not only -use- these pistols and develop a thorough understanding of each type of ammunition and its strengths and weaknesses, but he must also know every bolt and weld in each and every firearm he uses in order to get the most out of it and modify it as he sees fit.

Thus, the Gunslinger should begin his training by getting to know his firearms on such a level. He should practice taking them apart and putting them back together again. He should be able to draw up a schematic for any model of firearm when asked, as well as know the exact type of metals and powder used in each part of the gun. He should repeat this process for each type of ammunition as well, until there is absolutely no detail that he doesn't understand completely.

Once he's done this, he may begin training in the use of his firearms and ammunition. He should discover which types of ammo work best with each type of firearm, and the strengths and weaknesses of each. He should become acquainted with the weight distributed along each firearm and be as comfortable holding and firing each gun as if each gun were perfectly weightless. Once he is capable of firing several accurate shots, switching guns, letting off several more shots with accuracy, and then returning to his previous weapon all in the blink of an eye will his training be complete.
