Appearance

Usual Garments/Armor: Mar's choice of attire isn't the average Priestess of the Moon armour but her blue mail armour set and the tabard of the Honour Hold in honour of those who sacrificed themselves fighting against the Legion. Usually she wears a white overcoat over her mail armour. This gives her the element of surprise.

She has a respected attire of mooncloth robes for less war centered occasions, both formal and informal.

Other: She has befriended a Warp Stalker, Teldryn.

Personality

Mar is, at first glance, a shy, lonely Elf. Once one gets to know her better, she's a proud, honourable and friendly Kaldorei. She has an intense love for her companions. Mar has a rather curious mind, always trying to learn from her allies, friends and even her enemies. She always keeps her head high, even in the face of danger. When faced with even her biggest fear, Mar doesn't show any emotion, rather letting it all come out at a later moment when she is safe with friends. She holds pride for her people and her heritage, no matter what comes at her.

History

Mar was born in a small village in Ashenvale. Her mother a Sentinel and her father a Druid. She barely ever saw her father and eventually took up her mother's practice. Mar's early life was simple. Practicing with her mother and the other Sentinel recruits and playing in the forests exploring.

Yet... one day, shortly after her little sister was born, while Mar was sitting underneath a tree and reading when her mother approached with dire news. Her father was taken by the Emerald Nightmare and died! Her mother shortly after took a new mate. A woman, a Priestess of the Moon. Intrigued by the woman's skill in both battle, leading and religion, Mar asked if her new mother could teach her as well. And so her earliest training started.

Being taught by both her mothers in the art of combat and the faith of Elune. Mar picked up the physical side a lot better than the religious side, but succeeded in both eventually.

At a relatively young age, Mar joined the Sisterhood of Elune on her new 'mother's' behest. She started her practice under both her mothers. Her birth mother for the physical side during the day and under her new mother for the religious side. Life was simple, yet tiring. Both her mothers knew Mar would become a great Sentinel one day, or a Priestess. Upon arrival, at the Temple of the Moon, a lot of meditation and many tests followed, both spiritual and physically and Mar passed them as best as she could. Upon finishing her tests, she was taught how to harness and shape her spiritual power. Mar's mother tried to deter the woman from the path but she failed, to see if she was ready for the path. But Mar's power, faith and will only grew.

Next thing she knew, Mar was told the worst possible things her mother, and her mentor, could tell her while still being able to use her bow properly, to see if the Elf could work well under pressure. Mar's own death at the hands of the Satyrs, her family dying and her little sister dying, these were just some of the things she was told. Mar managed to shut out any emotion and focus on the task at hand. The words worked the opposite of the desired effect and Mar's aim only became steadier. She was taught the more iconic abilities of the Priestess of the Moon shortly after, Starfall and Moonshield. The first part of her training finally complete, she moved on the second part.

She had to learn how to survive in the wilderness. Mar was taken to Winterspring to survive on her own with limited supplies, her bow and a small supply of arrows. The rest, she had to scavenge. Mar was never truly on her own before and barely managed to succeed in this part of her training. Yet, she succeeded and was taught how to tame one of the Frostsabers to become her mount and companion. She learnt how to ride her companion and how to use her in battle.

Once her training was complete, Mar was sent out to ancient Highborne ruins in Winterspring to be tested one last time. She thought she would see her mentor there but no one was there. She waited for hours but her mentor never showed up. Mar decided to enter the ruins on her own. Before she knew what was happening, one of the Highborne spirits attacked her. She managed to keep her calm and fought of the spirit, but not before he showed her visions of the past. Death and destruction she saw, in an even bigger scale than she had seen before. She fought as best she could to shut her emotions out, muttering a prayer to the Goddess for strength. She succeeded but barely survived. Mar managed to crawl out of the ruins before passing out.

She awoke within the Temple of Darnassus in the care of her mentor, fully healed up and she was told she succeeded her test. This was the day she was acknowledged by her sisters as fully fledged Priestess of the Moon and was granted her own set of armour, enchanted with divine magic which radiates Moonlight to protect the wearer.

This was mere years before the Horde and the Alliance arrived. And this war changed Mar's entire life. Any-abled body was called, Mar joined as well. Despite both her mothers' wishes, Mar went to fight in Ashenvale against both Alliance and Horde. Until the ceasefire. She fought the Demons alongside a wide variety of races. At the end of the war, Mar's curiousity, inquisitiveness and a sense of duty to her new allies got the better of her and she went with many of the Alliance to Eastern Kingdoms to learn of the different people there. Eventually she found herself in the Blasted Lands, near the Dark Portal. It was still dormant when she first arrived. She joined the offensive to clear the Demons. It came as a shock to her when she learnt the Portal reopened and she quickly joined the defense.

Many days and many dead and wounded later, Mar found herself in front of the Portal. Many rushed past her to fight on the other side. After a moment of hesitation, Mar too jumped through the portal and found herself in another fight.

Fight... This was all the Kaldorei did these days. Mar found herself fighting to secure the Stair of Destiny and later to keep it for her side. She fought her way through Draenor and eventually got lost on Hellfire Peninsula. By this time, Mar was alone and cut off from the rest of the forces. Mar came across a small escort of three creatures, they looked like the Orcs that had invaded her homeland all those years ago but different. Skin as red as blood, horns like a Demon and fangs sharper than her own. They found Mar too and a fight ensued. Mar barely survived but managed to bring down all of the Orcs.

Mar noticed a cage being carried by the Orcs. She looked in and found creatures she did not know. They looked like Dragons but without wings. She broke open the cage and freed the young Warpstalkers. They ran, except one who saw Mar as something of a mother. The sounds of battle did not go unnoticed and just as Mar was losing consciousness, soldiers from Honour Hold showed up.

Mar was taken to the Honour Hold. Many people looked at her and her new young companion with strange looks. She wasn't the first Kaldorei but still a rare race to be seen. Mar's armour was destroyed from her fight and she was given a new set and was healed for the fight. She lived amongst the Sons of Lothar for years, speaking to different races and learning of their cultures and even their languages and some more traditional arts. She fought the Fel Horde and Demons whenever it was required of her.

Once word reached Mar about the Cataclysm, she decided it was time to return home. She spoke about it with her friends and allies and they all decided the same thing. They returned home together. A strange companionship travelled back to the Stairs of Destiny and fought their way through any who stood in their way, Demon and Fel Horde alike.

Once back on Azeroth, they returned to Nethergarde Keep. Here, Mar and her allies said a final farewell and parted ways. Mar returned to her home and eventually to Azuremyst Isle. She found herself a Draenei by the name of Kyrindralah here and fell in love. The two young girls decided to travel together to see the world.

Mar then heard the calls to arms for the Twilight Highlands and signed up without hesitation, if only to honour some of her allies within the Honour Hold. Her skill was noted by Commander Dalikan and she got recruited into the Lion Hearted.

One night's rest in her rented house in Stormwind, Mar received a letter from her mothers. Through some allies from her family and some of the Sons of Lothar that travelled to Darnassus, they learnt Mar was still alive and well. They wanted to see her again and speak to her about where she had been and why, as well as some family issues she had to deal with. And so, Mar went to Darnassus, to her family and her people to aid her family. During this time, she also got her armour granted to her from the Honour Hold reforged and enchanted to once more protect the wearer.

Mar returned to Stormwind and the Lion Hearted after her issues were dealt with to assist Commander Godford and the brave men and women of the Alliance against the Twilight's Hammer.

Skills and Abilities

Tracking: Having spent years honing her skills, Mar has become highly skilled in tracking down targets, be they animals or people.

Archer Maiden: Mar has been practicing with the bow for all her life. This made her a master with the bow.

Scavenger: Having learnt to survive with as little as possible, Mar has become quite the scavenger, being able to find useful things in what most people deem a pile of junk.

Strength: Having had to carry her own weight on Draenor, Mar has developed quite the muscle.

Linguistics: During her time in the Honour Hold, Mar has practiced the language of most Alliance races. Gnomish, Dwarven, Common and even Thalassian from the High Elves. She knows only the basics but enough to make herself understandable. Longer and harder words tend to confuse Mar.

Weapons Expert: Having spent quite some time training and using weapons at the Honour Hold, Mar has become well adapted with most weapons. Her favored weapons remain a one handed sword and a bow.

Saber's Might: The Priestesses are taught to tame and train the sacred Frostsabers of Winterspring. Her saber is the best of her companions, a loyal friend and a powerful warrior. Seeing the strange Priestess ride her saber into battle can be a terrifying sight. Mix this with the tabard of the Honour Hold and you have both a terrifying and inspiring sight.

Moonforged Armour: After returning to Darnassus, Mar had her armour reforged by some of the best blacksmith Darnassus has to offer and enchanted with divine magic which radiates moonlight to protect it's wearer against physical and magic attacks. (Determined by standard rolls)

Healing: Mar is capable of chanelling Elune's magic in order to heal herself or someone around her. Her skill pales in comparison to a Druid's healing or a Paladin's but it is enough to stop people from bleeding to death.

Starfall: Starfall is the legendary spell Priestesses of the Moon are best known for. The Priestess turns starlight into powerful missiles of pure energy and calls down this devastating shower of falling stars to destroy her enemies and their structures.
