"Thessse are curiouss times, plaguess, wars and the bickering among many factionsss have made it hard for the natural order to be ass it should be, for the strong lead and the to weak follow. Power iss not for everyone, but I can see that you are one who are fit for it. Are you willing to take it? Then join usss, the Avidus, with uss you will find what you sseek. We are everywhere, controlling, pulling the sstrings that will raise from the masses or cast you down amongsst the maggotss. We have the meanss for you to reach your goal."

-Apothecary Alistus of the Avidus.

The purpose of the guild is to provide its members with a powerbase, it takes care of its own. Power, influence, magic and gold are a few of the things that the guild offers to its members, at least to those with the will to take it. Those with a strong will and the wit to use it will rise high within the guild´s ranks, members have to rely on themselves to prove their loyalty and worth. Any signs of weakness are frowned upon and can easily lead to death.

Not everyone are recruited for their intellect or magical prowess (and be not fooled, due to the nature of the main founder those with knowledge of the arcane are more likely to be contacted), many are recruited to perform certain jobs for the guild. Be it as a soldier or assassin, or a diplomat or perhaps spy, the Avidus find uses for all of its members.

A fair warning, the guild does not look down upon betrayal, as long as it doesn´t harm the guild as a whole, so one should be careful with whom she trusts, it may be that one is only used for someone else to gain more influence.

To gain a patron, the favor of a higher ranking member, can greatly enhance ones rise to glory. A vouch of confidence of, lets say an Archon, would perhaps shorten the time one spends as an Initiate, the patron might also grant his favored "client" monetary aid or arcane knowledge and there by increasing the influence of said client. The patron of-course expects a degree of loyalty from the client, and rightfully so. To betray ones patron is, unlike the case of betraying another member, seen as extraordinary vile and can result in dire consequences. Who would like to work or place any trust in someone who apparently can´t show even the least bit of gratitude?

The Council (the Artifex and the Primogen) meets when the need arise to discuss the guild´s future and the path it should take, no-one except the Council members and those specifically invited are to attend, all intruders are killed.

Out Of Character Information:

This isn´t a guild in the In-Game sense, we are strictly an "IC-Guild, a channel may or may not be added depending on RP. This means that any member of the guild can also be part of other organizations (it is in fact encouraged) as long as they remain loyal to the guild. Of course we, other members, are not mind-readers so we can only theorize about where your loyalty lies, which is great really... as long as you don´t give the Archon the wrong picture, that could get nasty to say the least.

The guild strives to gain control, control over everything. But not in the way many others do, no they do not have open wars or large castles, instead they remain behind the scene, watching and manipulating the kings, queens and leaders of the world. The guild looks mostly to people with certain qualities, such as arcane prowess, wealth, high rank or perhaps excetional skill in some area. Even though the guild is supposed to be a secret it may be that rumors will leak out, rumors that surely will help recruit new members with it´s promises of power and wealth.

The guild´s titles will be increased if we gain enough members, there will be some added for esteem and others for different purposes as things unfold. The Enforcer, Shade and Arcanist titles are only a step on a long stair, I aim to have most members on one of the Archon or other similar posts with specific "work fields" and to hand out titles as rewards for good/extraordinary work. Also, some titles will have more than one bearer.

If you have a character that would be interested to join, PM me (Nostra) or talk to me In-Game (Alistus or Raef members will only be accepted on an IC basis, the creation of members already in the guild is accepted but be kind and talk to me first. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. "Remember, the only thing necessary for our triumph is for others to do nothing..."
