Appearance

Semi-formal civilian clothing, usually a blazer or jacket with an ascot or cravat around his neck if not a doctor's robe. He may by physically deformed, but at least he can dress well.

Other: Dr. Dino looks dramatically different from his in-game model. For one, his face is very gaunt, long, lanky, and crooked, with his left eye is puffier than his right. He has craters of many sizes all over his skin, especially on his face. Should he open his mouth, his teeth are crooked and misaligned. Though his shoulders are wide, he has a very thin frame.

His lower legs, due to muscle atrophy, lack defined calves and other musculature. The bones are brittle, and his knees are perpetually bent. Dr. Dino often hobbles when he travels, and should he stay in one place for a certain amount of time, he'll have to sit down. In spite of this, Dino insists he tries to improve his condition by exercising his legs, so he refuses to use any mechanical prosthetics or even a wheelchair in order to increase his mobility.

On his person, he typically carries a rifle in his jacket pocket, a knife hidden in the crook of his cane, and poison needles in a secret slot within the shaft of said cane. Never leaving his side is a medicine bag that carries his first aid items and tools… as well as emergency evasion items such as smoke bombs and tear gas.

Personality

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Dr. Dino is a man of many faces, arguably all of them being ugly on the inside as well as the out. He can be viewed as aloof and withdrawn but wise, or as surly, ill-tempered, and difficult to approach. As one would get to know him... he's just about all the above. Dino has very poor social skills, often berating people around him for minor faults, especially his patients. He often yells, or uses a condescending tone, when speaking with people, and if he's not making people feel stupid with his insults and harassments, he's irritating and infuriating them with his own personal habits. Dr. Dino is a neat freak, often cleaning the area around him with a rag and a dab of alcohol before complaining to people around him (especially if they're in ownership of the location he's in) about the lack of cleanliness around him. He is insistent of orderliness and having things -his- way and -only- his way. If things don't go the way he wants, he would get out of it to clean it up himself… before smacking the owner of the place with his cane for not cleaning up in the first place.

Should one get to know Dino more, a pitiable soul can be visible inside. Underneath his nasty and difficult temperament is a man of great insecurity, loneliness, and frustration towards himself. Dino is very aware that his unfavorable behavior is not making any friends, but he is also aware that doing anything to show weakness will only make him vulnerable, especially due to his physical disabilities. As long as Dino isn't doing anything to help his patients or help the sick and injured, he fears being viewed as a social burden. For this reason, Dino often compensates his internal insecurities with overly eager displays of tough-mindedness and workaholism with the sick and injured. The neatness obsession, though, is its own entirely different story, insecurities or none.

A notable trait of Dino's is his apparent sexism--specifically, he interacts with people of certain genders -very- differently. With other men, he is very harsh, perhaps excessively so, and he would not hesitate to smack a man across the face with his cane should he be irritated enough. With women, his temperament is generally softer, and he would almost never raise a hand against them. He is also far more willing to be cooperative with a female than any male. This has nothing to do with chivalry, however. He just tends to finds women to be far more tolerable. And, well, he's a pitiful bastard.

History

Geraldino was born to Dr. Bertoldo Galleani and his maid, Marta Perin, in a nobleman's family in Kul Tiras twenty years before the opening of the Dark Portal in Azeroth. He was a result of adultery with a woman with criminal ties, particularly with pirates involved with human trafficking and enslavement. To protect his reputation as a doctor and nobleman, and to avoid the attention from pirates who may chase him down for impregnating one of their own, Bertoldo hid Geraldino in the bowels of his mansion, keeping his secret even from his own family. However, by the time Marta died when Dino turned eight, Dino made attempts to connect with the family he was hidden away from. He was freed by his younger half-brothers Benedetto and Teobaldo, and the three ran away for a time until they were discovered and returned home. When the pirates discovered Dino's existence and parentage, they began raiding the Galleani home. To save his own skin, Bertoldo sold Geraldino and the two boys to the pirates, where they are taken to Alterac.

Before the opening of the Dark Portal, the boys were trained as assassins and thieves. Dino, who had little exposure to the outside world prior to being sold, was at first just assigned to take up his father's practice in medicine so he can treat the injured and otherwise stay away from other people. However, his ability to hide in tight spaces and his fast learning in teaching himself tinkering earned him the attention of the crime organization's leader, making him a personal favorite. This would also gain the attention of one of the most beautiful girls in the gang, Haydee Herzog, though she only saw Dino as a ladder to climb on and a dog to control and tame.

As the First War started, Haydee would lead Dino on as he and his brothers as their own personal group while their gang hid and defended from the orcs. As Dino became more and more the boss' favorite, the brothers decide to dethrone him by breaking his legs, binding them to prevent proper healing, and then immobilizing him. The Boss, seeing how ruthless Benedetto and Teobaldo were in taking down his best assassin, decided to promote them as his personal left and right hands of the organization. Haydee climbed to the top with them, taking with her a child she and Dino produced before his legs were broken. Dino, then, was demoted to simply remaining as the gang doctor and backup sniper, all the while never being able to see his child again. By the time the First War ended with the orcs' victory, the gang then remained hidden in Alterac, as even still they were wanted criminals within the kingdom.

The Second War came around; Lord Perenolde then began collaborating with the Orcish Horde, turning the kingdom's back to the Alliance. The crime organization was among one of many hired to employ acts of treachery that would eventually doom Alterac. By this point, Dino has left the organization but kept his ties with key members, establishing himself in Alterac as a strictly neutral doctor with his own office. During this time, Dino lent some of his skills as a spy and informant (and occasional doctor) for the orcs under the identity as "The Serpent", as to keep his true identity protected. However, Dino was fully aware that the actions of Alterac would not be tolerated by the Alliance. As the War was drawing to a close, Dino bailed from Alterac and fled south to Stormwind, using his background as the son of a nobleman doctor in Kul Tiras as a means of hiding his involvement in Alterac's treachery.

The years that passed after was spent simply staying in Stormwind and lending his hand in medicine to assist soldiers for the Third War and following war campaigns. However, in fear of revealing his past in Alterac, Dino never openly divulged his skills in assassination and espionage, opting to maintain a reputation as an irritable medicine man cripple. Still, that past continued to haunt him--thieves, rogues, and other criminals would pick Dino up as "The Serpent", and in order to keep his identity hidden, Dino continued to work as the doctor that cared for and hid criminals.

Up until after the fall of the Lich King, and even since then, Dino has lived alone in misery. He was afraid for his life, afraid that either the law or crime world will find him and destroy him. This, and still without the child he hasn't seen since his birth, Dino has become cynical, bitter, and angry towards the world around him, though at the same time feeling the same for himself for the deeds he's done.

Death

It wasn't until, for once, his acts done out of bravery and good rather than evil were recognized. A disease spread in Tanaris in which Dr. Dino assisted in providing the cure, gaining the attention from a woman named Annabelle Greene. Through misadventures dodging and fighting the Red Glove, Annabelle was able to acquire a pardon from the Argent Crusade for Dr. Dino. For the year until after the Cataclysm, Dino served the Argents as their loyal and faithful doctor. For once, he became happy, and his joy became twofold when Annabelle was able to rescue Aimee and bring her to him.

The happy times did not last. The Glove returned to Dino's life, snatching Aimee away from the doctor, attempting to kill him once, then finally succeeding when Dr. Dino attempted to protect Amura Sunfire from capture, via Death Coil by his now-death-knight brothers. The Doctor had plans to fully retire, rescue Aimee, and live in a peaceful life in Kul Tiras. This would never happen.

Skills and Abilities

Dr. Dino's physical abilities are much left to be desired--his mobility is scant and disabling due to suffering muscular atrophy in his legs sometime in his youth, though his upper body has enough lean muscle strength to carry his own weight (and, boy, will he need it). He has amblyopia ("lazy eye") on his left eye, which was deformed at birth, resulting in imperfect vision. Add this to general lack of mobility, one would think he is a very incapable person... except he isn't.

To compensate for his lack of physical ability, Dr. Dino relies on wit and intelligence with deception and cunning. Dr. Dino never instigates a fight, but rather defends through quick reflexes in evasion. Though he cannot walk without assistance, he can crawl quickly and -very- quietly. He is also fairly flexible in spite of his muscle weakness on his lower body. This, and his lanky frame and muted coloration, would allow him to hide in places a grown man would typically have difficulty hiding in. Dr. Dino then uses his hiding abilities to avoid fights as well as sneak in assassinations should the need arise. There, he uses various poison needles to silently disable or at times kill his targets, often done without his victim's knowing. He has also picked up the rifle, and due to living a life where his depth perception has been a staple of his being, he is a fairly excellent shot. Mix his hiding, his patience, and discreet means of carrying himself with a gun... you have a pretty good sniper.

In addition to the above compensation, Dr. Dino picked up engineering and tinkering as a means of assistance in all parts of his life--as a cripple, as a doctor, and especially as a spy and rogue. All his tools are hand-made, from his stethoscope to his microscope to devices wherein their uses seem to... imply only torture. Dr. Dino also uses these tools to aid him in his alchemy--he creates his own medicines, based off a mixture of knowledge taken from the gnomes, kal'dorei, and even some of the Horde races, especially the Tauren.

As seen in his title, Geraldino Galleani is a doctor. He has knowledge in most illnesses and injuries, but this primarily applies to mostly just humans. Dr. Dino has, during his lifetime, at some points cared for few dwarves, gnomes, and (high) elves, though at one point, he has cared for orcs during the Second War when he was an informant and spy. As such, his knowledge in kaldorei, draenei, and other races' health are fairly lacking, though he hopes to change that soon--especially in regards to trolls, whose fast healing abilities fascinate him the most.
