Am I real?

I am no Piroska, but I'd like to think of myself as rather real. And yes here I am to try and make some awesome profiles, any pointers on how to think or what to avoid? The hard part I have found so far is how to describe the looks of me draenei. And making good screens, but that has to do with this, my brother's comtputer. --Bovel 11:09, 26 June 2010 (EDT)

You exist!

... on the wiki, at least. Welcome to the wiki, Bovel! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to drop me a line. You can also contact Krilari, Aruen, and HelveteSong, who are all well-versed in wikitext at this point. And, of course, there are my guides on my blog if you're just looking for a quick 'n' easy solution to a simple problem. Again, welcome!  Piroska . T C 10:47, 24 June 2010 (EDT)

Glow effects on WMV

I noticed that your most recent image of Telah had a glowing effect on the mace. You can remove that from being seen on the model using the WMV. When you have everything set for your image, go to View â†' Show model control, then select the model that you want to edit using the drop down menu. In order to remove the glowing effect, uncheck the box that says Particles. It's a very simple process that can make images smoother -- particularly if they have transparent backgrounds. Hope that this helps!  Piroska . T C 21:08, 5 August 2010 (EDT)

Me and my particles.

Thing is, I did remove the particles from both the character, the mace and the five glow effects it had for some reason. The glow that is present now in the image was not even visible in GIMP. May try and re-edit it later when I get home from the next faire. --Bovel aka the Arrogant Camel 09:18, 6 August 2010 (EDT)

With the transparency and the admittedly light color to the glow, I'd bet that it's there on GIMP but very difficult to see. I'd recommend adding a new layer beneath the image and then adding a dark background; this will let you easily see if there are any particles in the image -- assuming that you don't just happen to pick a similar color as the particles!  Piroska . Om nom, images!

Hey there, Bovel! Just a reminder that images uploaded to the wiki should be eventually added to some sort of article. I periodically go through the wiki and remove unused images and failing to do so may result in your most recent image going *poof!* at an inopportune time. I'm not sure if you intended to eventually do this, but the comment on the image seemed to infer that you weren't. If you're looking for a place to only store images for use on the forums, I'd recommend ImageShack. ♥!  Piroska . T C 10:55, 6 March 2012 (PST)

The thick plottens!

That would explain why some images have gone missing. Since I refrain from using PhotoBucket and ImageShack or the like cause they simply suuuuuck... (stealing my images, try to force get me for copyright stuff on photos I took myself of trees, resizing and pixling my pics among other things). Is WikiImage storage allowed no moar? I could always revert back to try and use Facebook.

Ideally, the wiki shouldn't be used as image storage; every image on the wiki should be placed somewhere. Worse, if you link to an image that is not present on any article, it doesn't get tagged as used. So when I make my periodic cleanup of the wiki by deleting unused images (images for articles that no longer exist, old images of characters that are removed from their profiles, whatever), any image that comes up eventually gets removed. There's no way that I know that it's being used off of the wiki and, truthfully, it probably shouldn't be uploaded here unless it is.
I place them in the unused image category and I'll probably be going through the last batch within the next couple of days. I typically double-check to confirm that they haven't been re-added to articles before deleting them. In case you have any there that you'd like to retain.
You could always upload the image to the forums and use it as an attachment. You can manage your attachments under the user control panel. Assuming that you're using the images for forums-based writing, this is probably the appropriate course of action.  Piroska . T C 12:18, 7 March 2012 (PST)
Oh, can I have images stored on the forums? All attachments have so far ended up being the wrong size and so on. Is there a way to get around that? Gonna check if there are pics I need to upload on FB then.
Okey I just checked and you can just remove all unused pics that are mine, I'll just figure out another way to do it. All of them were made and added for the forums but I do see the issue with you being aware of that.
