Personality

Alignment: Lawful good

While he was alive, all he ever wanted was to prove himself to a father that he never really knew. He had wanted to fill an emotional void in his own life. He had put much effort to get close with his father, and now it feels like that all was lost upon his raising. He is haunted by the thought of how his father would see him now. He thought the world of that man, and knew he'd be much more than disappointed at this new transformation. He is now unsure of his place in the world, and hopes to one day find it.

He hates and is ashamed of what he has become. It is the opposite of what he had hoped of becoming. After defeating the Lich King, he did not know what to do. He had the ideas of merely destroying himself, but death his traumatizing. He has a fear of dying. He fears what awaits him on the other side. He was raised spiritually, and fears what awaits him. He also will not return home. He does not want his old family and friends to see him. Such deep-rooted sorrow and distress has made Shiye rather emotional, and he can easily get frustrated and lash out at someone. He may also become greatly depressed. Mood swings are not uncommon for him now a days.

Shiye is hard working when he sets his mind to it. The young Tauren is a fast learner, and tries to tackle his problems and reach his goals with the best he has to offer. He is focused, but sometimes can focus to the point where he stops paying attention to everything else. He works hard because he wants to fell acknowledged. He wants someone to give him approval, recognition, congratulations, anything. He wants someone to be proud of him.

The transformation as a death knight has been rough on him now that he has been freed from the Lich King's grasp. Before his transformation he was quite the social butterfly. Now a-days, while he could strike up a conversation with someone, it's just so much different. He can tell there is much distrust of his kind, and things just won't be the same as they used to. He also misses things that he took for granted while he was alive. Simple things like the ability to taste has been lost on him upon death. While not the worst thing that could happen, it has left him somewhat depressed.

History

Shiye was born to Huron and Mouta Earthstar. Mouta died shortly after birth and the boyoy was taken care of by other tribes members. Huron was deep in his grief and was also unable to do things like feed the child. The young calf was named 'Shiye', as his mother had wanted. While Shiye was still a child, Huron rejoined the hunt. Because of that, he was rarely around during Shiye's early years.

Father and son grew up distant. What shiye knew of his father was mostly second-hand information. As he grew older, So did Shiye's wish to be closer to his father. He would spend all the time he could with Huron, but did not feel it was enough. Fortunately, the older bull decided to teach him how to hunt. Shiye took advantage of this and, wanting to impress Huron, he accepted. The young bull worked tirelessly to impress his father. The boy seemed to be really in-tune with the world around him, and exceeded his father's expectations of him. Shiye was happy to have made his father proud.

Huron took this as a sign of greatness, and took the boy to a shaman for training. Shiye was not sure what to feel, but went along with it all. He just wanted to make his father happy. He worked hard, pushing himself to both his mental and physical limits. Shiye had payed attention and did his best to learn from his mentor, yet it must not have been enough. After a few days, the shaman told Shiye he would no longer train him. Shiye was frightened of how his father would react, and pleaded for a second chance, but did not get one. The young Tauren waited and dreaded the day the shaman would tell Huron. His greatest nightmare was realized when that happened

Shiye was crushed when he knew how ashamed Huron was in him. He felt defeated, and put less and less effort into making amends with his father. They spent less and less time together. They hunted separately, and barely talked. It was not Shiye didn't care any more, he just didn't know what to do. He didn't know how to deal with a man who wouldn't acknowledge him. Shiye just spent his days half-heartedly hunting with his tribe.

Time passed and soon Shiye's tribe joined under Cairne. The bull followed his tribe to Mulgore and spent his days in Thunder Bluff. He spent his time, talking amongst the Tauren from other tribes, trying to find new purpose and direction. The incident many years ago with his father still bothered him greatly. He would try to make friends with whoever he could, to learn whatever he could.

He had heard of the Tauren finding druidism and wondered if he should pursue it. It had peaked his interest, but he was still unsure. His mind was made up when he learned his father had decided to follow that path. The older bull was clearly excited about this and even tried to convince his child to join him. Shiye saw this as an opportunity to finally prove himself to his father. Without hesitation, he approached the druids and asked to be initiated into his ranks

Shiye was trained, and put to work, learning the ways of the druids. He had joined his father on many quests and assignments. As Shiye had hoped, the work they did together lead his father to finally start talking with him. They began to grow closer, and Shiye felt his problems were slipping away.

While Shiye was a rather new druid, he set his expectations high. He made it his goal to be a plagueshifter, feeling that not only are the badly needed nowadays, but that that kind of title was very prestigious. He felt like it would bring him great honour to become a great plagueshifter, and that Huron would really acknowledge him then. Huron, though having to leave for a assignment in felwood, had been Shiye's greatest supporter. Shiye spent his days, learning about disease and plague, and how it affects the balance of nature. He would learn of it's effects, and learn ways to fend it off. His studies, though, were interrupted when he got the news that his father had been injured in Felwood

Shiye was the first person Huron met when the older bull arrived at Thunderbluff. He greeted his father with open arms, and told him all about the training he was taking. Shiye could tell Huron was proud of him, and that strengthened the young Tauren's resolve. Returning to his lessons, Shiye was informed that he would continue his studies in the Plaguelands. It seemed a bit early in his training, but Shiye fully accepted, unaware of just how dangerous this was. Shiye told Huron, who tried to dissuade his son. Despite Huron's requests, he was adamant about this decision. The young bull travelled to Tirisfal with a small group, and his father joined them. The aura of undeath in Tirisfal was nothing Shiye had ever felt. It was unsettlingly Regardless, he ventured on, saying his goodbyes to his father once they reached the Bulwark. Huron had offered to come with them, but Shiye turned him down, saying the older bull needed to rest. Giving one more goodbye, Shiye had ventured into the Plaguelands with his group.

The plaguelands was not as Shiye expected. The corruption was so strong that the young Tauren could feel it. He knew there was nothing good about this place, and so did his colleagues. The group was very uneasy in this place, and wanted to hurry to get to their destination. In their careless rush, they were ambushed by undead. They fought long in hard, but in the end their inexperience was their downfall. They were overpowered

There was only one survivor, and it was not Shiye. Shiye was slain by the undead forces

His body was young, but strong and was a good candidate for being made into a soldier of the undead. Shiye was raised as a Death Knight, and taught martial combat and necrotic magic by the undead. He had forgotten his studies as a druid, but his knowledge of disease was intact, and was maybe even improved upon by the scourge. In an ironic twist, he excelled in spreading disease and death/He served the Lich King's will and was put to work at destroying the Scarlet crusade.

He followed the Scourge all the way to Light's Hope Chapel. Shiye fought the Argent Dawn tooth and nail, spreading disease and raising the dead, but it was not enough. The Argent dawn eventually overpowered the death knights. Shiye could taste the bitter taste of defeat, but was too much happening to focus on it. Before he knew it, the Lich King appeared, there was a fight, then the other death knights were revolting. So much had happened at once, it all seemed like a blur. Shiye followed the Ebon Blade back to Acherus, and fought back the Scourge there. His freedom led to realization, and with that realization came hate for himself and the ones that made him this way.

Shiye fought in Northrend against the Scourge forces under the banner of the Ebon Blade. He tried to push the thoughts of his past life into the back of his mind. He tried to remain focused on the war against the Lich King. Shiye was stationed in Ebon Watch originally, but as the war went on, was sent to Shadow Vault in Icecrown. While in Icecrown, he visited the Argent Tournament. It was there that he realized just how much in his life as changed. He would see the other horde members, and could feel their hate and distrust. It haunted him to his core, their disapproval and dislike. It reminded him of his father so many years ago. He knew he no longer belonged in that world, and did not know if anything he could do would change that.

This laid the seeds for much of the inner turmoil Shiye now has to deal with. Thoughts of his father, his home, his people haunt him. With the Lich King now dead, he is not sure where to go. He is hesitant to return home, and has remained mostly in Northrend, occasionally returning to Acherus. He spends a lot of his time thinking, trying to find purpose in his new life. Shiye will never forget the past; it's memory will haunt him forever.
