Skills and Abilities

  • Shadow Fall – Stops Death Knight’s fall enough so he/she wont break his/her legs, but also might be able to deliver a nice dramatic entrance or powerful hit from above. This spell causes Death Knight’s legs and lower torso to freeze with help of unholy magic, keeping ones body intact, but once landed, with help of this spell, one cannot move very fast, walking slowly is all they can manage, so no land and attack thing. You miss your landing; you are target for practice, unless some spells like death coil are used.
  • Advanced Corpse Manipulation – Allows Death Knight to manipulate corpses or parts of the corpses to his/her liking or needs, useful when fighting or improvising weaponry. With this ability one can fuse bones together, with unholy magic in ways that only glue could help. Sharpening bones, like making spear/arrow heads or just some sharp throwing things is as much as it can be done. With a mix of both Unholy and Shadow magic bones can be levitated or even sent as a projectile, but accuracy of throw isn’t finest, yet if it is only hope to kill and not be killed it can work, with a lot of luck.
  • Undead Connection – Death Knight can order all of his raised minions around, without need of shouting or pointing.
  • Deadly Breath – Death coil delivered from mouth of the Death Knight, without Death Knight hurting himself/herself.
  • Improved Grip – No cooldown for Death Grip and ability to use two Death Grips at once. Can use Death Grip to toss people or people sized objects around without much effort. Second grip can only grip items with special rune that Rugaas learned, so if he is using two Death Grips, it is because he might have no weapon in his hand. His armor and great sword have these runes.
  • Stronger Will – Resistance to Mind Control. Yes it is just something that I will ask other players to keep in mind, but if they choose not to I will not force them. Even greatest sometimes fall down.
  • Smell of Death – Allows Death Knight to be able to smell any rotting corpse from long distance, even if corpse is underground, it helps with rising corpses or finding dead bodies. It is ability, which is casted by a nose. Can detect bones in general, like arm bones, ribs or skulls. Side effect can’t smell anything else, even if ability is not active. Distance is 100-150 yards for really rotting corpses, for not rotting or just a bit rotting ones it is 40-80 yards.
  • Stream of Undead Healing – Death Knight can heal himself/herself or fellow undead without hurting them. Spell does all that is needed to restore functionality of the dead body, yet must be channeled, the more damage it needs to heal, the longer it needs to be channeled, in case of near death it might take half a day. Side effect, wounds must be 3 days fresh. If more time then 3 days has passed, after being wounded, spell will not heal fully. This is very ineffective during battle, due to need of channeling, unless some cover is found. To interrupt channeling, one needs to be hurt, tackled or any other action that will force them to move one or both hands apart. Spell is channeled with one palm over wound and other palm on top of other hand.
  • Meditating Will – Rugaas has learned a way of meditation that allows him feel emotion while meditating, yet once meditation is over feeling of emotions is lost. With this special meditation he is able to look as if he really has emotion, hide who he actually is – a killing machine.
  • Unholy Torture – Death Knight can use unholy magic to cause large amounts of pain, to soul or body.

Everything else is normal Death Knight Unholy Spell tree.

Appearance

Usual Garments/Armor: Death Knight plate armor, under them he wears a brown harness and some old dark pants.

Personality

Alignment: Neutral

He is emotionless, yet he manages to think as if he still has emotion so, you could say he is normal-ish, at times. Rugaas is determined to reach his goal, always chasing idea of perfection. He tolerates almost everyone or just doesn’t care that much. Rugaas believes that respect, trust and honor are earned. He doesn’t kill, unless it is an order by someone higher in command or it is only way. Rugaas doesn’t boost about his rank or glory, yet he does not let others to climb on his head completely (Insult him many times).

History

Rugaas was born on Draenor, in family of high ranking military officer father and priest mother. When growing up he was a loner, without much talents he believed he was useless. In any case, his father sent him to test his ability in wielding arcane and Rugaas came back with empty hands. His mother attempted to teach her son to wield light, nothing. Rugaas believed he won’t be anything special, until one day, at the age of 18; his father started training him to become a military officer. It took him quite few years to finish and once his training was done, he quickly joined up with Peace Keeper force at his settlement. Unfortunately his father and mother had to leave to Shattrah City, due to their duties.

Without his father to guide him, Rugaas had to deal with problems alone. Lucky for Rugaas, his father was respected so guidance from family friends was easy to come by. He lived like this for quite some time, keeping small settlement secure. He started to earn respect himself, which came after him earning experience, and word got out that talented warrior was found. Soon enough, he received a test, to see how good he is, test to establish and secure road and settlement that would lead to orcish lands and prosper two races greatly. Rugaas decided to not take veteran warriors; instead he took all fresh, less experienced troops. Many believed it was foolish, yet they did not know Rugaas’s plan. His idea was to take large unshaped piece of earth and beat it until powerful sword is shaped.

With few months, fresh unit of warriors was born. With few more months they were ready to move onto the location and do what they were ordered. Unit performed perfectly and outcome was more then expected. Not only they secured area from predators, established an outpost, created safe road for caravans, but also managed to secure good relationship with one of higher ranking orc warlords. This led to quick growth of two outposts, one orcish other draenei. Unfortunately Rugaas did loose few men, yet his unit grew stronger with every minute they worked together. With outpost established and new leadership on the way, Rugaas received other orders: to prepare his men and move into another area that requires great military presence due to ogre attacks.

When Rugaas and his unit finally reached the outpost what they saw was terrible: houses that needed repair, most of population not fit for duty due to their wounds, peacekeepers protecting what was left after ogres raided the outpost. With new leader, that was Rugaas, trading outpost was secured for good; ogre attacks became meaningless with newly built walls and other entrenchments. Few more weeks and most of the wounded were healed by medicine collected by brave warriors. Rugaas stayed there, because unlike outpost that he established, this one had much larger population and needed more ground to be covered, while normal peacekeepers were good, number of them required was to large for recovering outpost. So he spent his years at this location, training new soldiers to become great warriors.

At this outpost, Rugaas met his wife, they met when she was cooking food for soldiers and Rugaas came to join his comrades. For few moments he didn’t notice her, but once he did, he just froze. His comrades noticed it and gave him a little ‘push’, yet it was not enough. Rugaas wasn’t only one unable to speak; she also felt something for him. Weeks passed and two got to know each other better, most importantly talk fluid Draenei and not gibberish that they spoken at their first meeting.

With outpost sorted out and Rugaas’ unit stationed, he was able to spend more time with his love interest. After few years of relationship, they decided it was time for them to seal their relationship with a marriage and a child. Rugaas’ family received a new member, in form of a daughter Miya. Life was all nice and filled with smell of flowers, daughter grew fast and was strong female, and there wasn’t a boy that was able to beat her in any physical activity. Yet after Miya’s 17th birthday Rugaas went to assist hunters and found dire news. Orcs started to mass warriors and began to move towards his outpost.

With bad news and possible invasion, Rugaas returned to his settlement, sent best of his scouts to other outposts, settlements to bring bad news. Out of 14 scouts only 10 scouts were able to tell something new to others. 4 outposts were already slaughtered or in process of slaughter. Rugaas believed his outpost will be first to get struck, he managed to evacuate almost half of his non combat settlers to other settlements, but that did not include his family. His wife resisted to leave without her husband, his daughter wasn’t leaving without her mother. Rugaas had no time to leave himself, as he soon heard orc troops charging at his almost military outpost. First wave was defended, but heavily fortified settlement was surrounded. Second wave slaughtered all, expect for two: Rugaas and Miya. Warlord that was in charge remembered Rugaas from past, when Draenei saved his son and him from beasts of the wilds. The orc had two lives to spare and he did.

Miya was allowed to escape slaughter, while Rugaas was captured. He was left in a cage as orcs moved forward. Draenei scouts, sent by Rugaas to bring bad news to others, finally returned and seeing that settlement has fallen they looked for their leader. Rugaas was in a cage, two days without water, food and lightly injured. Few weeks of slow and painful travel, while avoiding orcs, they reached safer settlements, where Rugaas was healed up, recovered fully and returned to defending his people. He knew his daughter survived, his wife was already dead and his parents are still possibly alive, yet he focused on defending everyone, including his family. Rugaas and his warriors were great assets to Draenei, perfect front line troopers. Rugaas avoided sacking of Shattrath, yet joined up with survivors soon after.

Rest of the years before Draenei landing on Azeroth, Rugaas served as elite guard for his brothers and sister, he trained many to defend themselves and was highly respected amongst survivors. When Draenei decided to escape, his small group of six comrades decided to stay and keep elves off Draenei backs. Rugaas and other Draenei crashed at Azeroth. With his known skills in battle he joined others to represent Draenei in Alliance army. Those were hard months, but not as hard as being betrayed by racist human commander who decided to use Draenei to cover his retreat and leave them for scourge. Rugaas killed many undead, yet was killed and raised to be a Death Knight.

As a Death Knight, Rugaas finally found magic he was more than able to wield. It was unholy mixed with shadow. He easily learned how to raise ghouls and managed to climb up ranks quickly. Upon reaching Light’s Hope Chapel and was freed by Tirion. Few days later Rugaas received his memories back. Memories of Narru, his past as a defender, as a father, as a husband, as a leader. When he received these memories he also felt Gift of The Naaru, coursing through his body, causing him pain, but once it stopped he saw things clear, he almost returned to what he used to be, yet not all memories returned.

Now Rugaas is just another Death Knight, wandering around Azeroth, yet he is searching for three things: his daughter, his parents and his memories.
