Personality

Alignment: Neutral Good

She is often very quiet, and doesn't say a lot of things. At a glance she doesn't seem hostile, and in fact doesn't seem afraid to approach groups with her needs. She perks up at the sight of maps and shining things and artifacts, but she also places value on the most useless trinkets. She has a penchant for collecting things, and most of the times she'll address people with treasure in mind.

There are few things that will get her upset, and most of the time she'll be content and calm. However, mention or sight of the Scourge riles her up, and she'll set off even after the very weak scourge to beat one down. She is very brutal and violent, but will quickly calm down and revert to her normal state when the threat is gone.

Overall she's good and she wants to do good. She has no ill will to the creatures of Azeroth that didn't affect her, and made her who she is today. She isn't ignorant of Alliance, however, and knows better than to visit them in their territory. Because of this she restricts most of her exploration to neutral or Horde areas.

History

Part 1: Life

Lenore was born in Ironforge to a middle class family, being the youngest of three with a brother and sister. There she had lived a relatively comfortable and safe life amongst the dwarves and gnomes. Being a human she was taller than most of her friends, and often enjoyed playing sports and games with the various inventions and toys they made. As she grew older she had found herself discontent with her average life, and dreaming of an adventurous life.

She started visiting the library in Ironforge daily, reading about the world outside of the gates, and the many monsters and people there. She wanted to go out and see those places, but she was too young, and her family said it was dangerous. It was because of that she'd have to wait until she was an adult. In the meantime she would continue to read through the books and volumes of text. When she was a teenager, she had started to prepare for her life outside Ironforge, taking up a sword and training with the dummies every afternoon.

Finally she had hit the age of eighteen, and could set out into the world. Immediately she took to the Deeprun Tram, and before anyone knew she was off to Stormwind, then as many places of the Eastern Kingdoms as she could reach!

In her travels she would fight beasts, and relatively weak monsters. Few things threatened her as she searched and discovered new things. Sometimes she even found gold and treasure, though that was seldom, and didn't happen often in her years of exploration. Finally her journeys brought her heading towards Quel'Thalas, but before she could head in, she had taken a stop in Stratholme to take a break, and rest at an inn.

That day she had her fill of grain, as did everyone else in the town. She was content and comfortable from her meal, having no idea it would be her last. That night, as she was about to go bed, there was a lot of panic outside. As she looked out her windows, she could see soldiers attacking the citizens, slaughtering them by the dozen. She thought at first, they had been invaded, but she then noticed that leading the ranks was Arthas, and he too was killing people. Before she could make sense of this, however, she felt a sick and nauseating feeling travel through her. She tried to go out the back way of the inn and into the alleys, but she didn't get far until she died, and risen as a mindless undead.

Part 2: First time with the Scourge

From Stratholme Lenore managed to escape, and became one of the mindless scourge of the Plaguelands. She spent most of her time wandering aimlessly among other undead, without any sense of direction until Arthas came along. While last time she remembered running as she watched him kill undead, this time she obeyed as one of his many minions, serving under the Death Knight and the Lich King, Ner'zhul.

Lenore only found her freedom in Lordaeron. As the Lich King's influence became weak, Sylvanas managed to stage a rebellion, and when a civil war broke out, for the first time in ages, Lenore found herself able to choose a side, and she decided to join the Forsaken. The battle was fierce, but in the end Lordaeron was claimed, and Lenore was able to come to grip with her reality. She was free, but she was an undead, a monster, and knew she couldn't go back to her homelands. If she tried to see her old family and friends, they would surely destroy her, and she found herself dwelling on this change.

The more she thought about how she'd be alone, the more she focused on how she wanted revenge. She wanted to end the forces which caused her to be undead, she wanted to see the Scourge end, and in the other undead she found a common goal. She would continue to loyally serve as one of the Forsaken, and head into the Plaguelands to fight the Scourge there, believing she would make a difference. However, she was too zealous in her battles, pushing her boundaries. It was not too long before she found herself overwhelmed by the enemy.

Part 3: Second time with the Scourge

Lenore carelessly got herself killed trying to be a hero of the Forsaken. However, things were not over for her. After her “death” she had been reanimated as one of the many new death knights of the Acherus. Following Arthas, she did his bidding, as well as the tasks of the others ranked above her. She killed, she slaughtered, she raised ghouls and even stole a horse. This would continue until the Scarlet Enclave were in ruins, and she arrived at Light's Hope where there was a battle.

The battle was very chaotic, and she didn't know what was going on half the time. She was killing soldiers, but more would come, and even with their numbers it seemed like the battle would never end. It would suddenly stop, however, and for a moment things were still. She watched Arthas come and go, and the events seemed pretty important, yet it was hard to understand. Her free will returned, however, and with the other Death Knights she joined into the Ebon Blade.

Part 4: Being a Death Knight

Having twice in her existence have her free will come and go, Lenore's mind had been reduced to a very simplistic state. Her understanding of events diminished, and all she could think about was how Scourge were bad and how she hate Scourge. She served loyally as an Ebon Knight, and would eventually travel to Northrend where she continued to fight.

It wasn't until Arthas' death that things would be a little more lax, and Lenore, to some extent, felt her goal was complete. There were still Scourge and bad things in the world, but she felt personally that things were well enough that she didn't need to fight. This lead to a few weeks where she'd return to Lordaeron, wandering about and trying to piece together what she was.

She remembered her days as a human, exploring and finding treasures. She didn't remember how well she did, or how much she liked it, but she understood that those days were good days. Throughout her years she had carried a bag with her, that she believed were the spoils of her adventures. In actuality this bag had an all too familiar grain symbol on it, and carried a Stratholme Lily, a key she used that night in the inn, and a few crusader skulls from her time serving as a Death Knight.

She wanted to have more of this, so Lenore obtained a shovel, and started traveling the world once more. She resumed her undeath the same way she had lived, as an explorer, and a hunter of treasure.
