Personality

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Gavin finds himself in a personal struggle of where his place in the world is. Publicly, Gavin acts in a aggressive manner, often leading with insults aimed at others as a way to hide what he himself is like. On a more personal level however and despite the front he puts on himself, Gavin is not as steady headed as he claims. He is forever paranoid of being controlled, thanks to his time in the scourge, becoming aggressive over even the slightest hint of manipulation. The biggest driving force of Gavin is the drive to make a impact on the world, from the biggest wild scale situation to the smallest personal moment, for without it...what is there for him to savour in his unlife, filled with dulled senses and limited emotions? His views on the horde's races are mostly neutral, due to working alongside all races as part of the Ebon Blade. This excludes Gnomes and Dwarves however, whom he treats as too short to be taken seriously.

History

Gavin, born and raised in the kingdom of Lordaeron, lived his early years as a simple farm hand to the family farmlands. The news of the first and second war felt distant to him, an optimistic youth making him ignorant of the events of the world, so when the Orcish threat was finally defeated he had little reason to celebrate. Farm life was hectic and stressful which meant little in the way of free time.

This all changed however when scores of the dead started to rise from their untimely deaths by the necromancers in the scourge. With the destruction of Andorhal, a town not to far away from the farm that Gavin worked for, he had felt for the first time the cold feeling of true fear. He started to learn how to fight using basic farm tools to at least have a basic idea of how to swing a weapon at someone. But as soon as the urge to fight had fuel Gavin's self tuition the war was already moving away to the frozen wastes of Northrend.

Of course, the war took its turn for the worst when Arthas returned to lay waste of Lordaeron and the nation's fate was history. Gavin fled from Lordaeron and headed to Hillsbrad, which he made his home for a couple of years. There he honed his skills with a collection of weapons, occasionally put to test when helping the town guard in periods of conflict.

All of this changed however when a set of looters arrived in Hillsbrad, clad with plans to sneak their way into the town of Stratholme. A simple get in, get out and get rich plan...how could it possibly go wrong? Gavin joined the expedition and they started to make their way into the plaguelands. The journey went wrong before they even arrived at the town, near miss with packs of undead became more and more frequent and when the group stumbled upon Stratholme they found themselves in the centre of a occupied Scourge camp. The group did what it could to try and survive but ultimately they and Gavin were killed to the last man, being Gavin himself when a ghoul took a firm bite of his neck.

And then, Gavin was raised in Acherus under the grasp of the Lich King. He learned his cursed talents the only way he could, surviving what came his way and improvising. Soon after, he was hurled out into the scarlet front lines and did what he could. With the battle at lights hope channel, Gavin was struck with a moment of realization of what he did. Understanding his situation and driven by a hint of anger, he followed the rest of the Ebon Blade to Northrend.

During the course of the war with the scourge, Gavin constantly found himself near the front lines yet keeping to himself when battles were not raging. Emotionally, he was distant, hating to let his mind wander on its own accord to think about everything he has lost and done since his death. Because of this, the war was a blur for him, and even the concluding battle at Icecrown's Citidel, fighting at the base of the monolith tower, is something he won't recall that easily.

With the war well and truly over with the Lich King's death, Gavin returned to the Eastern Kingdoms and set his feet inside Stormwind for the first time. Without motive or a driving urge to keep him going, he drifts between towns on his search to find a new purpose.
