Other: Forsak is missing one ear - it was ripped off by a ghoul in the battle where he met his death.

Personality

Forsak used to be a somewhat cheery Kal'dorei. But this changed as he rose as a minion of the Lich King. Now he is the total opposite of what he once was. He doesn't enjoy his “life” very much. He only has a single cause and he knows that he will not be free to have others until the current one is done with. And that is the fall of the Scourge and the Lich King.

In his life, Forsak had always liked the company of his kin. Now he doesn't enjoy it that much... nor the company of any other race for that matter. He spends most of his time in solitude, with his thoughts. However, he is not a completely mute fellow. The will to communicate remains inside him. But most of the time he speaks, he seems somewhat grumpy, melancholic and nostalgic. He still speaks nice words and compliments on some occasions. If somebody approaches him, Forsak usually responds with a few words, rarely asks any questions. Exceptions do exist, of course. The reason behind his quietness would happen to be the struggle that is going on in Forsak's mind. The small haunting remnants of the foul taint of the Lich King still reside in the Kal'dorei's mind and in his runeblade. And they still possess enough power to influence his decisions a bit, unless he fights them. And that's exactly what Forsak does.

Forsak sees himself as an abhorrent, terrible creature, a murderer.. He used to be a Druid, a Kal'dorei, one of the people who are perfectly in tune with Nature. And now look at him! He's an abomination, a defilement of his previous beliefs, a personal insult to the natural laws he used to follow. The hatred this Death Knight holds towards himself isn't as strong as it was the moment when he broke free, but it is still large and strong enough to plague and torment his poor mind. He has suffered a lot. However, he knows what he has to do and will not give up on life before it is done.

Forsak pities and hates the Death Knights - including himself - at the same time. He knows how do they feel - he feels the same way too after all. He knows what they have lost. However, he also knows what the other Kal'dorei would call them. He is very jealous to the truly alive Night Elves. He knows that they have -everything- he once had but now lost and will never regain it. However, he still saved some loyalty to his kin. His views on the other Alliance races remain unchanged - he thinks about Humans as irresponsible and troublesome whippersnappers, he sees the things Dwarves and Gnomes do as something that defiles the earth and nature and he really has no set opinion about Draenei. On the Horde side, he despises the Orcs because they defile the forests and hates the Trolls because they help the green-skins. Some of his trust towards the Tauren still remains, though weaker and with bits of jealousy similar to the one he hold towards Night Elves. The Blood Elves are old enemies and the Forsaken... Well, now the Forsaken are something really close and similar to him. While all the time before they were “gruesome abominations who need to be destroyed”. His views towards the Forsaken are mingled and confused.

History

Forsak was born in Felwood six thousand three hundred fifty-six years ago. His parents were the kind of people who avoided towns and preferred the wilderness. He pretty much grew up in a small camp. His mother was a huntress, and as a huntress she preferred all things wild - that was one of the reasons they were living away from the cities. She spent her free time with Forsak and Forsak alone. However, there was a lack of free time for her - the Sentinels used to send her on missions of preserving balance really often. Forsak's father was the ordinary Druid. He used to spend most of the years in the Emerald Dream, returning on rare occasions and spending a millennia or less with his family. Back then Forsak had a different surname but it was forgotten later.

One day Forsak was off in the woods, exploring them. It was then when he met Seaphia. They nearly bumped into each other. The children started a conversation. They talked, and talked, and talked. They started meeting each other more often. Eventually they became close friends and in their teenage years started a different relationship.

Forsak was born with amber eyes. Therefore, when he was of good age his father started training him. Sadly, the time for him to return to the Dream came and young Forsak was assigned with another mentor from The Cenarion Circle. Eventually he mastered the basics and had to go to the Emerald Dream. Some time before that Forsak and Seaphia chose each other as mates. Forsak doesn't remember when exactly. Funny how memory works - keeps the insignificant details but throws out such major and important events.

Forsak slept for thousands of years, waking up rarely and only for short periods of time. He chose to follow the Strom Crow totem.

Forsak was awoken by Tyrande Whisperwind and the other Sentinels to fight in the Third War, along with the other Druids and his father. He got worried when he saw that his mother wasn't present. He asked around and found out that she was one of the many Elves that died when the green-skins lead by Hellscream invaded the forests and slaughtered Cenarius. Then it got personal.

Forsak fought bravely in the Battle for Mount Hyjal. However, that didn't prevent him from experiencing another loss. His father, a Druid of the Claw, was in the frontlines. Like most of the people who were in there he was put together with the dead people after the battle was over. A dark day for Forsak it was.

After the loss of his parents Forsak felt broken. His enthusiasm in everything was taken away, his battle spirit shattered. He was lucky Seaphia found him. During the few years she sparked the will in him to fight again. And she suggested a way to do it. The two heard many dark tales about the decayed lands known as the Plaguelands in the continent to the far east. And they journeyed there, willing to help with fixing the situation.

The two aided The Argent Dawn in their battles. They fought bravely and with a deep passion. The Scourge brought Archimonde into their world. And the Scourge had to pay. Sadly, not all battles went well. The Dawn forces had to retreat many times, admitting that they lost that battle. And for Forsak, one of those battles ended in an even sadder way than for the others. Seaphia was killed by an abomination.

Another great loss for Forsak... Surprisingly, he took this lighter. Maybe because he knew that knew that she would want him to go on, to fight on - to fight for her. And that was exactly what Forsak did. Until the final battle - the final battle for him - came.

The day felt promising. Though Forsak wasn't sure about what it promised. They were going to attack the Scourge legions again - he knew that. And the battle began. At first it went very well. The Argent Dawn was winning. Forsak was full of self-esteem, rushing into battle bravely... and carelessly. He fought like a real warrior. And like a real warrior he failed. He was busy battling an Abomination and he didn't see his death sneak behind him... A ghoul jumped on him, grabbing his head. One of the sharp, rotten claws ripped off his right ear. The staff fell out of Forsak's hand, he fell to his knees. The ghoul didn't hesitate. The next thing Forsak felt were claws going through his body, being pushed into his back and coming out from his chest. Then there was pain. And then there was nothing...

But it wasn't the end. Forsak returned. Not as a free being. A cold voice echoed in his mind, chaining his thoughts, bounding the Death Knight to its will. The same presence was inside a strange runed blade which Forsak found in his hand. He was no longer alive. Though he wasn't dead too. He was defiling his former beliefs. He was enslaved by the Lich King. The very force he recently fought.

Forsak broke free together with the other Death Knights during the battle in Light's Hope Chapel. He was disgusted by what he had become. He forgot his surname. But the name was still in his memory. So he decided to call himself Fin'shelar.

At first, Forsak was thinking about suicide. He knew what he had done and he saw no point in living anymore. But then he remembered Seaphia. The really small memories of the love he held towards her had escaped the Lich King's icy grasp. And those memories now fuel him. He wants to avenge Seaphia, to make the Scourge pay for what they have done to her. He doesn't want her death to be pointless. And he has to make sure it wouldn't.

Forsak still feels the blood on his pale hands. He still hears the screams of countless people dying... dying from his runeblade. And he remembers the stars... from his Scourge days. He remembers the night sky, full of stars. This made Forsak call his runeblade Kal'serrar - The Blade of the Stars in his native language, as a reminder of the horrors he had done. He didn't want to forget it. Instead, he wanted to redeem himself in front of nature and the rest of the world. And avenge Seaphia. That is why he joined the Ebon Blade. Now he is still with them and he keeps on fighting... he keeps on fighting the Scourge.
