Appearance

Everything about Alorel is meticulously groomed in place. He seems to be one to spend countless amounts of time preparing himself to go wherever he pleases. His clothes seem to be of high quality fabric and sewn by a professional of the trade. His fashion, however, is typical of an elf. He keeps to a red and gold color scheme most of the time. He may change this scheme to reflect either the season or his mood.

Personality

He generally appears to be bored most of the time and takes little interest in most things that pass him by. He has quirks for the oddities and strives to create something unique. He will take on odd adventures whenever possible to try and keep himself amused. When his attention has been caught by something he will easily become fixated by it. Nothing can separate him from what amuses him. He can be a rather spontaneous one to pick up his belongings and go somewhere on his own accord.

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

History

Born on the outskirts of Eversong, Alorel's parents were simple merchants that took frequent trips to the city to sell their various goods. In his teens he took to the trade of selling fabric out of the back of his parents' cart. When enough money was acquired, he would find an instructor to teach him more of weaving fabrics and the basics of tailoring. It did not take long for Alorel to earn enough to live on his own in the city. He was lucky enough for his business to succeed enough for him to hire a few employees and to take to a few classes in the Arcane.

He favored his studies and attended his classes at least once every week. His curiosity was piqued when he came across texts regarding arcane Shadow. Amused by the medium, he applied most of his knowledge in arcane to Shadow. Studying the art kept his attention for a few centuries. He would spend days on end reading what he could, practicing, and learning whatever he could until he felt his information sources were depleted. For a short while, he shared his knowledge with a select few others when he was around 500 years old. The job lasted him a century before he returned to being a simple fabric merchant and tailor. He would continue to teach only those that sought him out and proved to be a worthy student.

When the Second War came about, Alorel took a support role, donating a fraction of his supplies to the various armies of Silvermoon. He waited the war out in his shop, having no interest in fighting. His life returned to normalcy until the Scourge invasion. Rather than taking up arms and fighting, he took to the hills. He did not return to Silvermoon until the withdrawals were too much for him. He took fel as soon as it was available and was instantly hooked on the substance. He returned to his quiet life, trying to stir no commotion of his own and keep to a simple way of life.

Skills and Abilities

Shadow Mastery: Decades of study in arcane Shadow has allowed Alorel great control over his art. While the spells may be generally weaker than others, he compensates with a shorter casting time to overload his opponent. His knowledge in the arts run deep, causing him to experiment from time to time to try and invent his own spells.

Event Horizon: A wave of Shadow that distorts the feeling of the gravitational pull, creating a false increase of the weight about them to make moving increasingly difficult. The affects of the Shadow are similar to that of a Curse of Weakness.

Screech: Self defense at its most annoying. When cornered, he will let out a horrid screech that is heavily distorted by Shadow. The technique isn't completely refined and runs the risk of backfiring, causing pain to Alorel's own ears and causing an annoying ringing.

Hold My Weave: Alorel's weapon of choice is a bolt of Shadoweave he imbued himself. The fabric his highly constrictive and is used to immobilize his opponent. If left uncontrolled, the constriction could lead to loss of blood flow, difficulty breathing, or in some cases broken bones. This bolt of black fabric is approximately thirty feet long and five feet tall and rolled neatly to make it easier to carry, though it is usually kept in the office of his shop. It is a one time use self-defense mechanism unless he retrieves the fabric after it has been used. It takes a day to make another bolt.
