Personality

Zalan tends to prefer diplomacy and subterfuge to aggression. He is not a calm thinker but often finds himself taking time to think out his problems, possibly talk it out. When worse comes to worse, he will bend the Light into a formidable weapon. Zalan has a high capacity for compassion and mercy when it comes to Blood-Elves and Forsaken. He feels betrayed by the Light, and Humans and often has very venomous thoughts regarding both. At first glance Zalan may seem harmless and he is. However, if he ever finds himself having the upper-hand he is quick to become a sadist and possibly, something alike a tyrant.

Other: Due to his campaign in Tranquillien he has become very comfortable with Forsaken. However, after seeing a group of them abduct another Blood-Elf, he has mixed feelings.

History

Zalan has been around for a long time, he has seen much. Zalan was an adept researcher, a reporter for a local news program, and a legal scribe. Beyond that a wartime Priest. He developed a close bond to the Light and for a time, found himself content. Every time his kingdom fell into chaos, he was ready with his staff and his faith, and it never failed him. Beyond that, Zalan became the proud owner of a Bookstore after several years of saving money, and smart financial decisions.

However, it had been due time crisis struck again. An army spawned from his very nightmares, led by a Human prince, tore through. In the chaos many were killed. Zalan had been one of the lucky ones. He managed to evacuate with his brethren, but in the wake of the destruction, Zalan found his faith irreversibly severed. It made no sense to him at all, and ever since he has lost his ability to call on the Light.

Once learning of the Order of the Blood Knights, Zalan saw it as a chance to wield the Light again. However, this time the Light would ask his permission, instead of the other way around. Ever since becoming an Initiate it has been Zalan's motive to raise in rank and to gain greater control. It is ironic that perhaps deep-down in his soul his motives are sinister, whilst his means are truly benign. Such is the personal conflict Zalan must deal with from now on. Where this will take him, and whether or not the whispers of madness will reach his ears, are unknown.
