Personality

Honor is what drives Yurlk. Honor for himself and honor for the Horde. One without honor is worse than nothing in his eyes. Some may say that Yurlk is living in the past, holding on to old traditions that even the New Horde isn't try to maintain. However, he can not, nor will not forget being part of the Fel Horde, something that has scarred his life. Though he is attempting to move on. He only has a little time left in the mortal world, and he is trying to spend his few remaining years helping others, and helping himself find inner peace, something which can be difficult for anyone of any race.

Yurlk has found a strong friendship for his non-orc Horde allies. He has great respect for how the trolls and tauren have formed a strong bond for the Horde. He even has an understanding for the Forsaken, who have fought control of the Lich King, similar to when he had to fight against the powers of the Demons. His relations with the Alliance can be neutral at best. Though he knows that they have only meet through war, which can only make them allies; he has seen terrible acts committed by the Alliance against the orcs. If a full out war were to breakout, he would back up the Horde without a second thought, but he will give an alliance member his ear if they can prove their trustworthiness.

Yurlk will appear serious when meeting a stranger, though this is out of politeness and respect. Once he has known a person for awhile, he will be more pleasant and cheerful. He likes to sit down and have long talks about whatever seems interesting, and might even crack a joke if he can think one up. He rarely gets angry, only when provoked, but he will never fall to his rage; a mistake he had made once that he regrets even to this day.

From suffering in the hands of the Burning Legion, Yurlk has no sympathy for those who commit acts of evil. He has commit great acts of terror in his life, and tries to repent for those past mistakes by helping for the causes of good. Those who try to gain authority over Yurlk will have quite a struggle. He is very stubborn in his old age, and will never be controlled again, like he was over 50 years ago. Not without fighting to the tooth and claw. He follows Thrall simply because he respects the orc, and does not want to cause any mistrust.

History

Yurlk was born 27 years before the Burning Legion took their grasp over the orcs, in the far off world of Draenor. He was part of the Warsong Clan, under the command of Grom Hellscream. His tale of interest began with the start of his military career. Not being one with the spirits, nor having exceptional intelligence, he abstained from taking on shamanism, and became a warrior, like most orcs. With this he was able to excel greatly, due to his large size and thunderous strength, and his ability to keep a level head in the heat of a battle. Wielding his sword and shield, he was able to hold his own against the ogres, who the orcs constantly waged war against, and was even given command of several skirmishes. Yurlk was certain that he would be chosen as a Blademaster for the Warsong Clan. Grom Hellscream soon announced that he was going to give the prominent title to a deserving Orc. At the choosing ceremony however, Grom did not pick Yurlk, and the young orc's hopes were shattered. When he confronted the Cheiftain, he was told, that although he had immense strength, and was adequate with the blade, he did not hunger for battle as much as most orcs. Filled with a combination of rage and grief, Yurlk threw his blade into a nearby pond, never to take on a sword again.

Soon after, the orcs were contacted by the wicked Kil'jaeden, and tricked into waging war on their former peaceful neighbors, Draenei. This also brought the rage-inducing blood of Mannoroth. Grom Hellscream was the first orc too drink the demonic essence, and the rest of the clan followed suit. Eager to please his chieftain and orc peers, Yurlk also partook in the drinking of the blood. His grew frighteningly powerful, and killed many Draenei, earning him respect from his allies, but somewhere, hidden in the back of his mind, he felt the corruption the blood had given him.

Years later, with the promise of a new land to conquer, the Dark Portal to Azeroth was completed. Though the Warsong Clan stayed in Draenor, Yurlk volunteered to aid the Bleeding Hollow Clan in the First War against the humans. He was properly given the rank of Sergeant Major, and given a small group of orcs to command. His leaving of Draenor would mark his final association with the Warsong Clan.

With the loss of the Second War against the newly formed Alliance, the orcish horde quickly fled back through the Dark Portal, with the humans in close pursuit. When back in Draenor, Yurlk sought out the Warsong Clan, and was able to meet up with them again briefly. However, the destruction of their world was impending, caused by the numerous portals created by Ner'zhul, forcing the orcs to return to Azeroth. In the new world, Yurlk joined the Shattered Hand Clan (as an outsider, not a member), who had remained in Azeroth since the first invasion. With time, a young Warchief, by the name of Thrall, took control of the orcs, and led them to Kalimdor. When the humans of Daelin Proudmoore attacked the orc settlement, Yurlk was unable to help in the fighting, his aging had finally caught up to him. He helped out however he could though, from his mediocre smithing of weapons, to giving whatever battle advice he could.

Yurlk greatly desired to return to his clan, the powerful Warsong Clan. When news of Cenarius and the Night Elf attacks on the Warsong reached Orgrimmar, Yurlk quickly made haste to aid his brothers in battle. However, he soon found out that the clan had drank the pit lord blood again. This caused uncertainty for Yurlk, who wanted to help his clan, but wished the fel curse would never rise again. He finally decided that he would disown himself from the Warsong Clan, and cut off his ponytail, which he had had since his early days fighting orges in Draenor.

Yurlk now resides in Orgimmar. Though his fighting skill is just a shadow of his days in Draenor, he helps the Horde obtain victory however he can. He is somewhat renown in orc society, both for his help in the Great Wars, and his wisdom and old age.
