Other: He smokes a pipe, and is fascinated with the sea. His accent is rather strong, his ‘W's and ‘F's are replaced with ‘V's when he speaks. He is also rather fond of marine life. Xemoi is not very religious at present, although if he ever managed to get over his guilt from the past, he would explain why.

Personality

Xemoi is very social and occasionally flirtatious around friends, but also tends to be very relaxed, calm and calculating. Challenges of honour or words against his kind generally deflect off him, but pry into his past and he might get defensive. He likes to put events and people down to a simple science, trying to keep everything as calm and effective as possible. He is fiercely loyal to his peers, and even more so with his friends, and will fight for them if they are threatened under his watch. He trusts of people, even strangers, to do well to others, and he is rather generous, buying ale or giving donations to those less fortunate than he is. When haunted with his past, he will try to steer as far away from the topic as possible, but if the person persists, he will simply avoid discussion altogether, distracting himself with something else or even leaving the immediate area if possible.

History

Xemoi was born to a family of proud Light worshippers, his father a Vindicator and his mother an Anchorite. In the time he spent on before discovering Draenor, through to establishing on Draenor, he was trained to be a Vindicator, fiercely loyal to the Light. He excelled in many aspects of his occupation growing up, working alongside his father in a relatively peaceful time. He never really had a life outside the Vindicators, never marrying or having children. The Vindicators were all he had.

It was during the massacres that a more traumatic chapter of his life occurred, where he, his father, and a group of vindicators were sent out to protect a small village of Draenei, attempting to evacuate them. While most of his group went out to fight off the Orcs, Xemoi had been left with two other soldiers to guard the villagers. But once the bulk of their forces had either died or fled, Xemoi was thrown into the thick of it, trying to defend who he could. He couldn't cope, his fellow Vindicators were killed, and the villagers slaughtered. He managed to escape while the Orcs were focused on the civilians. He had survived, but the event had made him incredibly guilty, almost verging on madness. Not only would he never forgive himself for that (At least that's what he believes), his faith had received a wound. He never learned his father's fate, although he assumed the worst.

He roamed aimlessly for quite some time, his mind drifted in and out of madness. He was picked up by a group of surviving Draenei, who went to Zangarmarsh with hopes of waiting the war out. However, once word had reached them about Velen and the Exodar, they immediately left, high spirits intact. Except, of course, Xemoi, still trying to recuperate from his experience. During his time in the group, he was mostly ignored, although at the start they had healed his wounds and nursed back to full health, but eventually they had just given up on him. They believed his mind was beyond repair. This was close to the truth.

Xemoi and his group managed to survive the taking of the Exodar, and they were among the Draenei to leave Draenor. The group had meshed into the rest of the survivors, while Xemoi was left to the healers. His sanity slowly returned, although the guilt remained. He had recurring nightmares about the affair, much to the concern of his fellow survivors. Soon enough, he was called on to fulfil his Vindicator duties, much to his discontent. He obliged, although he secretly began to doubt that he was cut out for it. And just as he began to abolish such pessimisms, the Exodar went down. He wasn't prepared in the slightest, he was knocked unconscious.

‘Am I dead?' Was the first thing to ever hit his mind when he awoke on the beaches of Azuremyst Isles, near the Exodar wreck. He survived, although he was seriously wounded. This is where he remained for quite some time, he could not believe what had happened. His faith was destroyed that day. He felt forsaken by the Light, and this is how he stayed. Once he had the strength, both physically and mentally, he decided to leave the shores, littered with the dead and the rubble. He dared not to touch any of it; It reminded him too much of that day on Draenor. It simply reminded him of all the carnage. He found a group that had built a sailing boat, and decided to take his chances on it. Despite it being a rather uneventful trip, Xemoi was awe-struck by the sea and it's beauty, particularly the numerous sea creatures he saw. All very alien to him, it made him want to know more about the sea.

When the ship landed, they encountered Night Elves, who took in the group, teaching them a few basic words in Common. While most of the group settled into their new surroundings, Xemoi wanted to leave; he wanted to explore the world. He travelled through the lands of Ashenvale and The Barrens, and arrived in a little town called Ratchet. He made some friends there, notably a pirate, who took on the task of teaching him about the world and the ways of the pirate, as Xemoi became further and further interested by the idea of traversing the seas while practicing combative and social skills necessary to survive in such a peculiar place. His teacher became his best friend, and they travelled together, Xemoi at first serving under his teacher on his ship, the ‘Nautilus'. Xem experienced his first few battles with rival pirates on that ship, and in one attack, the captain, Xemoi's teacher, was killed. Before he had died, he, in what seemed to the crew and even Xemoi at the time to be a foolish act, left Xem in charge. In his new role as captain, he thought he had discovered a way to make up for what happened so long ago.

The ‘Nautilus', under the command of Capt. Xemoi, became very successful, until one fateful clash with the Bloodsails destroyed his ship, killing his crew, and blinding him in one eye. He felt at loss once more. Luckily, the tides pushed him into Booty Bay, where he was found and nursed back to health. He recovered from the ordeal surprisingly fast, and he was up on his feet again soon after.
