Personality

Voran.png

While many blood elves have found ways to gain the favor of the light by unnatural means, Voran still retains his faith in the Holy Light. As a result, he deeply tries to follow the three virtues, respect, tenacity and compassion (thought he doesn't follow the last one as well as the others).

Despite his following of the light, Voran has no problem killing someone in cold blood should he believe the world would be better off for doing so. He also sees the potential in the shadow, believing that as the light can be used for evil, the shadow can be used for good.

Voran is generally a friendly person, and he enjoys meeting new people. He prefers to avoid unnecessary conflict, and will almost always back down from arena and bar fights.

History

Voran was born to a lower class family, and didn't have the best first couple years. His mother lived in Tyr's Hand, and his father, a pious man, helped transport goods between Quel'Thelas and Lordaeron. As a result, Voran saw much of the two kingdoms. Spending a great amount of time in a city mainly inhabited by humans strengthened Voran's social skills, as Voran's friends would always outgrow him. When Voran came of age, he decided his path was with the light, and after the First War, he joined a very small group of priests that lived in Tyr's Hand.

During his time with the priests, Voran made a good friend with human member of the clergy, Jacob. Their first few years they were the best of friends, but as the years passed by, Jacob matured, while Voran kept the maturity of a young man. As time moved on, Voran showed promise wielding the powers of the light.

During the events of the Second War, when Tyr's Hand was razed, Voran and the rest of the priests fled with the other refugees. As they fled Father Ronald, the leader, could not go on, and told Voran to lead the order; believing Voran had finally matured. However, Voran refused to take the position, unwilling, and afraid to take on the responsibility. Instead, Brother Jacob became Father Jacob. Many years later, Father Jacob decided to merge his small group of priests into an organization that would be known as the Scarlet Crusade.

Before the organization had gone to the point of excluding non human races, Voran had bought into the idea that undead, no matter what, must be destroyed. As a result, Voran did his part killing the undead. However, what caused him to leave the Crusade was when Father Jacob, decided that those infected with the plague must die. Jacob lead a group that 'cleansed' a family taking refugee in the church. After the slaughter, Voran gathered his thoughts and realized that the Crusade had deviated too far from the Holy Light. That night, Voran found his old friend in his sleep, and murdered him with a dagger. After this incident, Voran began drinking.

After Voran's dark deed was done, he returned to Silvermoon, to reunite with his race, and he fought alongside them for most of the third war. Eventually, he had his taste of Fel Magic, and questioned if his race was headed in the right direction. Seeing the Blood Elves drain power from M'uru was unacceptable to Voran, and he felt he could not remain with his people as long as they bended the light to their will. Since then, Voran left Quel'Thelas to wander the world.
