Personality

The greater portion of the millenniums that Vestalaan has lived have been spent fleeing or fighting for his very survival. During that time, he developed and nurtured a deep set hatred and loathing for the sinful, the malevolent, and the corrupt in all its forms and believes the only way to deal with them is to eradicate them. Vestalaan fights partially for his own vengeance, but the main driving force behind him is his faith.

Vestalaan is an ardent disciple of the Light. He would go to any lengths to uphold its tenets and defend its glory. While he harbors no tolerance for those who scorn the Light, he is has no qualms with those who are open to the possibility, and is far from hostile to them. Vestalaan is a very sincere individual; he does not lie, he listens wholeheartedly, and he does his best to aid when and where he can.

History

Vestalaan was among the other would-be draenei during the exodus from Argus, but many of those he knew and loved were not so lucky. They did not heed Velen's call but instead remained, only to be transformed into man'ari. This left Vestalaan bitter, and before the ship had even left the atmosphere of the doomed world, he had vowed vengeance.

Though the bitterness was greatly lessened by the teachings of the Naaru K'ure, it never fully went away. With each successive planet that was wrenched away from the draenei, the loathing grew. The Light was the only thing that Vestalaan had left; without its tranquility he very well might have succumbed to his inner hatred. He trained daily, using the training to calm and focus his mind as well as learning to wield and harness the Light in battle and otherwise.

Eventually, the draenei ship settled on what was dubbed Draenor. Vestalaan settled in the temple of Karabor after its construction, living peaceably for a time... until the orcs came. Vestalaan had stood resolutely against the tide of green until the battle became hopeless. He was forced to fall back to Shattrath, only to retreat yet again into the massive fungal forests of Zangarmarsh. The screams of dying draenei women and children haunted him long after the battles ended, and Vestalaan was quick to add the vile orcs to his loathing.

When the Prophet led the assault on Tempest Keep and subsequently fled Draenor with others, Vestalaan stayed behind to defend the holdings that the draenei had left in Draenor, battling against invading demons and countless other threats. He helped to reestablish the sanctuary of Shattrath from the rubble, and has mostly remained in the city since its restoration. Only recently has the possibility of journeying to this new world of Azeroth been opened to Vestalaan.
