Personality

Vega is different from your average troll in many ways. Though not insensitive or cold, his face rarely betrays any emotion. The only things that can cause him to display any sort of emotion are blatant disrespect towards him or the mention of his diseased son. He never carries a weapon, his age making it difficult for him to wield the polearm he used to fight with earlier. A pacifist in comparison to the other trolls it isn't easy to coax him into combat. But when worst comes to worst he can be a formidable opponent, capable of holding his own in a one on one fight. Even though he fights unarmed, his experience and calm making up for his lack of brute strength. Patience and tact are two qualities Vega has in abundance. He believes that tact can achieve what blades and bloodshed can not. Vega may be considered an introvert. He trusts no one, not even those of his own tribe thinking of them as nothing more than lapdogs of the orcs. He believes that the Darkspears took the path their own destruction when they joined Thrall's forces. Once holding admiration for the orcs events in his life developed a deep set hatred for them. He wants the Darkspears to return to their old ways and end their alliance with Thrall, believing that their debt to him has long been paid. Though having a deep hatred for the orcs he is wise enough to not reveal his opinion about them publicly. Though usually calm and composed, he is prone to have an anxiety attack when reminded of his son. Also, when shown disrespect by those younger than him, his face may momentarily contort into an ugly snarl. Having lived through his prime without any regrets, he shows a lack of fear or anxiety even in life threatening situations, knowing that death will come when it is time for him to go.

History: Born among the Darkspear in the Broken Isles, Vega had the traditional troll upbringing. The old warriors taught him and others of his age group in the use of spears and polearms. At the age of ten Vega was accompanying hunting parties first observing and later on joining in the hunt. He was one of the lucky few who lived to the age of seventeen. His life was then of a hunter procuring food for his tribe, not thinking much about anything else. He went on to have three wives though only one of them could bear him a son. The boy named Devi became the center of Vega's life. Though ridiculed by others for doting on his son, he spent a lot of time with him always giving him largest portion from his kills and taught how to use spears personally. Their peaceful life changed by the attack of the murlocs who captured both the trolls as well as the orc sailors. Vega and his son were part of the fortunate few who could make a timely escape. Though wanting to do something to help his imprisoned people, Vega's desire to keep Devi out of harm's way refrained him from doing so even after witnessing them being slaughtered by the murlocs. Finally, when the orcs freed them, Vega felt gratitude and admiration for the green skinned race. Ridden with guilt for not helping the Darkspears when they needed him, Vega immediately joined the Horde's forces along with his son when they came to recruit trolls. Working as scouts and messengers with a team for three other trolls which included his son, he dutifully served the Horde. Riding on raptors, his team was one of the few who were link between the Sen'jin Village and Orgimmar with each other. On a routine mission journeying from the capital city, they were ambushed by warlocks of the Burning Blade clan. While his son was captured, the other three managed to escape. Desperate to help Devi, Vega returned to Orgrimmar asking for help. The orcs chided him for not delivering the message but still sent a rescue party. After searching for half a day they finally found the cave he was in, being tortured by two orc warlocks. The party made short work of the warlocks and unchained Devi who was letting out heart rending shrieks. His skin had turned a pale complexion and there were scabs all over his body. Presumably the orcs were trying torture valuable information out of him. When unchained Devi, driven insane by the torture snatched away one of the grunts' sword and attacked the rescue party. The orcs finding that reason was not working with him had to run Devi down. Now it was the father's turn to go insane seeing his son gutted in front of him. Unable to accept his son's death and furious at the soldiers he attacked them too. The five soldiers were a lot to handle for the old troll however experienced he was in combat. Vega fled on his raptor, tears and snot all decorating his face. Spending several weeks in the forest alone, his view of the orcs changed. He began to believe that orcs were nothing but a menace and their "negative" influence on the trolls had to be ended. Deciding that he would exact revenge for his son's "murder" as well as free the trolls he has now returned to Sen'jin, trying to convince his people to break their alliance with the orcs.
