Appearance

Looks pretty much like the average elf, skinny and tall. He's pretty well build for a mage, though most warriors would best him in a spar. His skin isn't the usual pale tint but more brownish. It has always been that way although the tint has gotten darker since Vandireth's time in Outland. His body shows extensive scarring, many of them are scorch marks on his arms and upper body. Most of the scarring has faded over time, it has become rather subtle.

===Usual Garments/Armor:=== Walks around in expensive robes, mostly red or black (or a combination of the two.) It's not uncommon to see him wearing jewelry, often enchanted ones, as he has an obsession for enchanted items.

Personality

Vandireth has a volatile personae, while he's usually pleasant and calm company he sometimes has these, dangerous outbursts. Mostly when facing adversity, or when he's interrupted or irritated by whatever means. As he travels further down the path of the warlock these outburst will increase in number and magnitude. The only good way to calm down is by conjuring fire, something that doesn't always go in a controlled way.

Vandireth is quickly obsessed, a simple study or research can quickly turn into a obsession, especially when it comes items of arcane power or the latter itself. Vandireth then preferably locks himself up in a room littered with books and scrolls, conjuring his own food so he doesn't have to come out. Disturbing or interrupting him may very well trigger one of his outbursts.

Vandir thinks quick when time is running short, but is also able to breed on his plans for a while. He mostly acts out of emotion, but when the actions/decisions become more important he tends to use his brains. Vandir is someone who puts lots of effort into reaching his goals and doesn't mind flexing his morals if need be.

Doesn't take kindly to being ordered around. He can follow orders, but only if he agrees with them or sees the point of doing them.

Even though the fact that Vandir has spend quite some time in cosmopolitan places like Shattrah and Dalaran, he thinks that all other races, save for the Draenei, are primitive savages. He holds no love for the Draenei, he sees them as rivals, although he hold a kind of admiration for them. No love for the horde either, except for the forsaken who prove most interesting. And the alliance are the worst of all, especially the humans and the Kal'Dorei.

Has a ‘junkies' stance on fel magic, he knows the side effects are bad, and that trafficking with demons is very bad. But on the other side, fel magic doubles his powers and due to his corruption he just can't think ill of the stuff. His adversity against demons begins to fade as well, for they hold true power. And a such, he slowly slips into old habits….

Withdrawal effects. Not using fel magic, despite his addiction means Vandir suffers from Withdrawal effects, these can range from very short tempers to sudden exhaustion. Not using fel magic for exteded periods can cause moodiness or even depression. Using the arcane is a temporarily cure, it keeps the effects at bay.

Proffession

Vandireth is a mage specialized in the arts of evocation, abjuration and enchanting. He prefers fire above frost or lightning. However he has learned how to ‘boost' his fire magic by using fel-magic, like many Sin'dorei magisters learned during their time in Outland. Fel-magic however, is just the beginning. It has corrupted Vandireth slowly leading him down a darker path, the one of a Warlock. Whether Vandireth succumbs to his corruption or manages to hold it back is something that only future can tell.

History

Childhood

Vandireth was born as part of House Aerethil, a rather wealthy family that had close ties with politics. His father, Vaendil didn't like politics, he was a magi specialized in the arcane arts. He didn't raise his children to become politicians, he wanted them to become magi. So he moved to Suncrown village, where the Aerethil family had a summer residence. Vandir never had a childish childhood, as there weren't much other children in Suncrown. So instead of playing, Vandireth spent his time learning. Viren, his mother, taught him how to write, something he proved to be very good at. His father was proud of him, good writing would certainly make a good magi. But Vandireth was too young to harness the arcane, without it destroying his body. So his father only taught him the theoretical knowledge of the arcane.

Father's Teachings

Vandireth turned 80. Although still quite young to study magic, Father Vaendil thought it was time to teach his son the very basics. Vandireth quickly became obsessed with magic, devouring knowledge at, unhealthy speeds. Accidents became more and more common. Vaendil saw the danger and slowed down the training, which took quite some effort. Vandireth began to read, a lot… He often traveled to Silvermoon to visit the library devouring practically any piece of literature, ranging from history to magic.

The Academy

With Vandireth reaching 100 father send him of to the Falthrien Academy to further himself into the Arcane Arts. Vandireth felt at home, he had a passion for learning since he was born, and in the academy, there was so much to learn. Vandireth had much potential, yet there was one problem. Vandireth had a passion for fire magic, something that was more or less frowned upon by his teachers. He was taught nonetheless, but only in the Arcane arts, if he wanted to study Fire, he had to do so himself. Which was exactly what he did. The next thirty years would be years of intense study. Vandireth became lazy, using the arcane for even the smallest of tasks. The ways of fiery evocation were neglected, favoring the more practical arts of Conjuration and Transmutation. War wasn't likely to happen anyway, with the trolls hiding in their fortresses deep in the mountains.

The Second War

Yet, after thirty years, war came, and Vandir realized that he was ill-prepared. Turning water into wine and summoning drinks and every day items wouldn't stop the vast hordes of Amani Trolls that invaded Quel'Thalas. However, an ‘old companion' did. So Vandir began to use fire magic again. Using fire magic came almost natural to him. Seeing his brethren die at the hands of the Amani, rage filled the mind of Vandir. This rage was used to ‘fuel' his fire magic which in turn decimated the Amani. The more rage, anger or hatred, the more fire. Many a troll fell at his hands, but his allies and even himself weren't safe from his magics either. The lack of practice meant he couldn't fully control the fire.

Dalaran Times.

Eventually the second war ended, and Vandir decided that he would study fire magic once more, but not under the high elves, no he would study in Dalaran, where fire was much less of a taboo. So he locked himself up inside his room and studied, only coming out every now and then to bring his newly learned skills into practice, something that required more space. He was pretty much oblivious to what was going on in the world. He of course heard about the third war, but it didn't interest him, he had to learn more and more. He woke up when he heard that Prince Arthas was assaulting Quel'Thalas. He rushed towards Silvermoon to aid in the defense, but he was to late. The city was in already in ruins and the Sunwell destroyed. Apathy struck Vandir as much as it did to the rest of the survivors, with their source of Arcane destroyed, the high elves would surely succumb to their addiction.

Prince Kael.

Then Prince Kael'Thas came and rallied his people, they would help the Alliance, clear Quel'Thalas from the scourge and rebuild what they had lost. Vandir saw no other option, he had little hopes. So he served under the prince, was patronised by lord Garithos. But at least he could satisfy his lust for revenge. Every undead was to burn. Yet, until they found a new source of magic, all would be lost in due time. His eyes were already sickly green, and there were worse things to come….

To Outland

The Blood Elves under prince Kael, were imprisoned, charged of being traitors. However they where freed by Lady Vashj and her Naga, offering them to venture to Outland, a place of untold quantities of magic, away from the humans. Vandireth was most excited, he heard stories describing as a place of sheer magic, something that matched Vashj's description quite well. And as such, Vandireth followed prince Kael to Outland. There he encountered a new ally, something to satisfy his lust for magic, fel. Fel was like nitrous oxide, doubling the destructive properties of fire spells, giving the fire sickly green edges. Vandireth felt at whole, but Fel was much more dangerous than fire, much more demanding. An inexperienced user would become fatigued much quicker, but he wouldn't feel it. Casting fell caused such euphoria that all bodily signs faded to the background. Many elves died of exhaustion. Vandireth was a bit more careful and lived, however, he gained a lot of scars, mostly caused by his own magics. But his lust wouldn't be satisfied, no he only wanted more.

Scryer Time and rehab

He was not the only one, every Blood elf, including Kael'Thas wanted more, they began to traffic with demons. Alarm bells began ringing inside Vandir's head, this wasn't going the right way. As they warred the Draenei in Outland it was Voren'Thal the seer who defected from Kael's side, pledging allegiance to A'dal. Many Blood Elf magisters, including Vandireth joined him and became the Scryers. They would try to stop Kael from summoning Kil'jaeden, as that was the way things were going. Vandireth lowered his use of fel magic, he suffered from severe withdrawal effects, but he managed to free himself of the fel corruption, only using fel magic in cases of dire need, or at least, that's what he thought and still thinks.

ister Rommath.

Things weren't going good in Silvermoon, rumors reached Shattrah that Lor'themar Theron was assassinated by Orcs and that Grand magister Rommath has taken control. Vandireth suspected what Rommath was up to. For he was sent by Kael'Thas himself as his voice in Silvermoon, and that could only mean one thing, Mister Rommath would likely try to summon the Legion. He wasn't the only elf to put 1 and 1 together, for reports came of a rebellion in Silvermoon. Vandireth traveled to Silvermoon to aid the rebels in their effort to overthrow Lord Rommath, but alas he was late again. When he arrived Lord Rommath was already overthrown.

Present Time.

Now Vandireth seeks to rebuild the city of Silvermoon. But the fel corruption slowly returns, his lust for fel magic slowly renewing.
