Personality

Alignment: Neutral Good

Validar is a demanding and impatient elf when it comes to having his wishes fulfilled. He expects that things are done when he demands it. If it was not for his training, his impatience would have developed into an even worse character trait but he has been taught to keep his head calm when casting spells, always keeping the name of the Dawnstriders in a good light. He is quick to react and prone to act, but his spells are cast with a focused gaze. Validar would spend a lot of time to perfect a technique or learn a new skill. He hungers for more power but outright denies any claims that point it out.

Having grown up in a noble house, he copied an attitude one might expect. Racism. He dislikes the other races and would only work alongside them if he were to obtain something worthy of his time, or if he deems their cause just and right. He is very competitive and eager to prove himself towards others and shows a good nature when he loses, one might even find him to take it up rather well. The truth is that he simply hides his dislike and the moment he loses, Validar starts to plot and scheme on ways so that he may still obtain the prize involved.

Validar's love for nature he developed as a child is what motivates him to travel, spending time outside and enjoying nature in its beauty. If any harm would come to Eversong woods, he is sure to react.

History

Validar was born just more than two centuries ago in Quel’Thalas into the well respected Dawnstrider family. Spending almost all of his childhood outside, Validar grew up appreciating small things like the warmth of the sun.

When returning home one day, he found one of his brother’s tomes on the school of fire magic. Curiosity got the better of him and he started to read it. It grasped his attention and it was not long before he could sustain a small flame in his hand. Practice makes perfect, some say. With the guidance of his mother, a mage, he mastered the technique of shooting a simple fireball at a target, leading to the discovery of the art of evocation. His abilities expanded until he was capable of hurling a boulder of fire at the target, also known as the spell of Pyroblast.

Growing up in the shadow of Thalarion, Validar was constantly under pressure to try and be as good as his brother. This motivation drove him to the point of spending a lot of time in libraries to learn as much as he could.

Well into Validar's adulthood he decided to see more of Azeroth, stepping outside of the safety Quel’Thalas had to offer. His travels took him South where he saw a human for the first time in his life.

The news of the opening of the Dark Portal didn’t mean much to Validar at the time. His studies on the school of fire magic in conjunction with his interest for conjuration lead to the discovery of summoning a fire elemental. It took many failures, but at last after months of practice he succeeded.

With the outbreak of the Second War, Validar joined the humans to fight, more out of curiosity of the humans’ abilities in magic than helping them. It was during the Second War that Validar saw the amount of power a warlock was capable of commanding with their fel magic. "If only one could use such power for good, and not evil,” he thought to himself.

When the scourge threatened Quel’Thalas, Vaildor fled with Prince Kael’Thas and the other elves to Outland. With the destruction of the Sunwell a terrible thirst grew inside Validar. Now in a place where the fel was in abundance, Validar's focus turned from the study of fire to the use of the fel. He learned to drain the mana of creatures to quench his thirst for magic, but it was never enough.

Giving in to his hunger for power, Validar was taken under the wing of a Blood Mage where he learned the value of Verdant Spheres and how they would absorb the souls of a slain demon to help feed the magic addiction of the Blood Elves. The training consumed a lot of his time.

When the Blood Elves returned home, Validar remained in Outland to finish his training. The usage of fel to empower his spells allowed him to push his limits. The intensity of his fire magic increased, but so did his hunger for power.

At last the Sunwell was restored and the Blood Elves released from their addiction. With the empowerment of the Sunwell’s energy once again, Validar went to his trainer to learn the last and most challenging spell a Blood Mage could learn: summoning a phoenix.
