Appearance

Vaithen tends to favour darker colours such as blacks and browns when it comes to clothes. He usually wears a thick black travelers' cloak with a mix of plate and leather armour concealed underneath. Although it is rare he will occasionally wear casual clothes, which usually consists of a purple shirt and black pants. He makes every attempt to keep his runeblade on him at all times.

Personality

Vaithen is a rather protective person and has retained these traits past death. He tends to act on what he believes is the best choice of action but is extremely loyal to those he pledges himself to. He rarely will attack without provocation or necessity, and believes in a sort of “Law of the Road” where those who travel the same path as him are to be treated with respect and no ill will for the length of the journey. He has no real hatred for the living, though sometimes he has trouble identifying with them. Vaithen also loathes traitors, and will not hesitate to expose such corruption to those whom he works with. He doesn't have any issues with betraying enemies though, should such a situation arise.

History

Vaithen was born in Quel'Thalas to a fairly well off family, he received good education in all the arts and for the years of his childhood he lived a good life. He was schooled in the art of the sword by his instructors, but did not hold the same aggression as most of the more violent elves. Coincidentally he started favouring the use of a sword and shield, valuing the ability to defend himself from attackers more than being a slaughterer and joining with the rangers. He also displayed an aptitude towards his magical studies, and though he pursued those along with the art of the blade when push came to shove he chose to focus heavily on his combat skills, disliking the thought of becoming a magister.

He was content to be a defender of Silvermoon and learn the subtle politics of his people from his father, spending many of his years aiding his father as both a bodyguard and an assistant, this however was changed when his younger and more energetic brother came of age. Although Erythnal was a respectful elf he did not have the patience to stay in Silvermoon with the family, and one day chose to leave the city, heading off to start his own travels. Reluctantly Vaithen resigned from his work with his father, heading after his brother and ending up joining him in his adventures through the years.

Vaithen enjoyed the travelling and the company of his Brother, but as graver and graver news arrived each day with the exploits of Arthas and the supposed Scourge he consulted Erythnal who agreed that the pair should return to Silvermoon, and so they did, not long before the destruction of the Sunwell. It was unfortunate that both of the brothers would fall in the ensuing slaughter of the city, brought down to lay amongst the thousands of bodies of their kin and enemy alike. However, Vaithen was not given the peace of death, and instead was resurrected by the Lich King, brought into his service for a time where he was selected for the trials of the Death Knights, becoming one of the dreaded inhabitants of Acherus where he would fight for the Scourge until the freedom at Light's Hope where he promptly left the service of the Ebon Blade, seeking to follow after his Brother once again.
