Personality

Terant is one of those oddballs who usually tries to do the right thing, and doesn't look out for himself very often. Not often enough, some would say. His interests include but are not limited to killing Scourge, protecting the innocent, traveling, and adventures.

History

Terant had what one would call a "normal" childhood. He lived in the forests of southern Quel'thalas with his parents and his older brother. His father was a moderately successful merchant/magister who sold magical goods, and his mother was a housewife who occasionally did a bit of enchanted tailoring for extra gold. They were well off enough to live comfortably, but they were not nobles or anything. Both Terant and his brother were sent to Silvermoon at a young age to study and be good little Elves.

This was when Terant and his brother had to choose their paths. While his older brother dreamed of becoming a Kirin Tor mage, Terant wanted to be a heroic Knight of the Silver Hand: An order that only a few Quel'dorei had actually entered. His training mainly involved basic swordplay and going to church more often, at this point.

The undead Scourge invaded Quel'thalas. He and his family fled to Silvermoon, leaving early enough to bring most of their possessions in wagons. They were the lucky ones. As the Scourge completely destroyed Quel'thalas, they were safe in the city. Even when half of Silvermoon was destroyed, the entire family managed to stay safe. By selling most of the possessions they brought with them, they were able to afford a small space in the city. After the war, both Terant and his brother felt that if they had known how to defend themselves and their people, none of this would have happened. When Kael'thas promised their people salvation in Outland, Terant's father was one of the first volunteers to come with the prince to this new frontier. The family wasn't sure what the new world would be like, so just to be safe, only his father went. He promised to write back to the family with news of Outland, and they all expected that it would be a paradise, just like Kael'thas had told them.

The letter they received from Outland was news of their father's betrayal... and execution. It said that he had allied himself with a traitor to the Sin'dorei nation, the well-known magister Voren'thal, and had been executed for his crimes, which were listed as the murder of two Sin'dorei, the theft of several crystals containing high volumes of magic, and treason. Similar news came to many others in Silvermoon, and after hearing that their leader had allied himself with Illidan Stormrage and the Naga, many in Silvermoon, including Terant's family, started to question their prince's love of his people.

When M'uru was captured and brought to Silvermoon, Terant was eager to begin training as a Blood Knight. He expected the order would be very similar to the Knights of the Silver Hand, fighting rightously for good causes, and following the teachings of the Light. When he saw how horribly the Blood Knights were treating his being of Light, and how they abused their power, he was appalled. About a day after trying to join the order, he left. Terant just couldn't stand the Blood Knight mentality of keeping their power in bondage and completely controlling it. He felt that their ideals went against the true teachings of the Light, and refused to train with them.

During this time, Terant went to what he felt was the only organization that would accept a Sin'dorei paladin: The Argent Dawn. Staying in the Plaguelands was a way to use his powers for good, and still fight the main enemy of his people. This was the time when all of Terant's training in both melee fighting and in using the Holy Light paid off. This was the Elf's first chance to actually fight an enemy with his powers.

After Kael'thas betrayed the Sin'dorei once more and stole M'uru away, Terant was finally able to use his training among others of his kind. After taking a temporary leave from the Argent Dawn, Terant spent nearly all of his money on a portal to Shattrath City. He made it to Outland and joined the Shattered Sun Offensive. After some hardcore training and meeting a lot of Draenei, Terant and the rest of the Shattered Sun Offensive fought and won on the Isle of Quel'danas. When the Prophet Velen reignited the Sunwell with the power of the Naaru, Terant (along with many others) felt the rush of holy power flooding into him. It felt amazing, and to know that he had helped greatly in accomplishing this felt even better.

The relative peace only lasted until the Lich King unleashed his second plague on every city, causing people all over Azeroth to turn into mindless zombies and add to the Lich King's ranks. Silvermoon was still feeling the effects of the first Scourge invasion and Kael'thas's betrayal, and it wasn't ready for such an onslaught. Terant, being a paladin, was able to survive the plague and even heal a few people along the way. His mother and brother were not so lucky, however. His mother had eaten plagued food and was unable to find a healer before she turned into one of the Lich King's servants, and his brother was eventually taken down by the zombies after burning many of them to ashes. Terant now wants to go back to his Argent roots and join the Crusade in Northrend, but he's not picky. He'll take any Scourge-killing opportunity that comes his way.
