Personality

Alignment: True Neutral

Coming from a background of training in diplomacy, Telih is capable of soft-spoken kindness as well as thoughts bordering on the devious. As a background to the instinctual manner of thinking obtained in the Dream, he tends to be otherwise very rational and insightful.

He believes in responsibility for one's actions and in evolution even when making mistakes. He believes in balance by avoiding concentration of power in any one hand, and sees most elements of civilization (especially those of other races) as compromises that should at least be re-considered, if not wholly scrapped.

He's a deep introvert, capable however of connecting with others in the contexts he considers intimate. He's a fairly philosophical thinker, actively seeking out answers and hope as to whether worlds naturally gravitate towards corruption and enlightenment on whether individual action may change this. He thusly has a suppressed fascination with the Draenei, hoping to one day question in depth the scholars of the race he considers fairly responsible, of the worlds they've traveled through and their nature.

Also, as a diplomat at heart, he is slightly seduced by the young human race's versatility, impetus and talent for communicating, despite objecting overall to their young civilization which he considers bound to make the ancient mistakes of his ancestors. He often gives the explanation that while the Humans have outgrown the savagery stage of orcs or trolls, they are yet to choose a path that may lead them closer to the Kal'Dorei or closer in nature to the wretched Sin'Dorei.

With difficulty in re-adapting to the world outside the Dream, Telih has recently been experiencing deep swings in mood, drifting from friendly bohemian candor to harsh vindictive judgmental tendencies. The scare of mortality catching up to him, he's even become somewhat less careful about etiquette, tradition and personal safety.

History

Growing up at the base of Nordrassil, Telih's parents - his mother being aligned with the Sentinel caste and his father being close to the Priesthood and involved in administrative assignments, chose to steer his education towards a career as a spiritual and diplomatic advisor. He got close to the full attention of his parents, as his brothers and sister were of a much older age.

Coming of age and completing his education, young Telih did not really fully align with the Priesthood of Elune as he was expected, but took up the task of arbitrating conflicts and negotiations between the priests and druids, as well as the Sentinels. Courting the golden-eyed 'speaker', despite being of a priest family, the rather reclusive druids were more trusting of him than most other diplomats that would seek to help the communication between the castes.

Slowly, as his third century passed, Telih became closer and closer to the druids, accepting an old friend as his master at the age of 322 and soon entering the Emerald Dream. Some druids protested the fact that this "infiltrator" was being allowed into the Dream, especially after only under half of century of training. But while his intentions were honest and he was supported by the friends he had made as a diplomat, as well as being further supported by the elders that recognized his becoming very adept at sensing and using the reins of nature's energy so quickly, he was allowed full initiation.

After over three and a half centuries of waking life, the Dream changed him completely. The years spent inside allowed him to tap into previously unused potential. Out of respect for a world untainted by civilization, Telih chose to spend the majority of his time in animal form within the Dream, physically becoming Kal'Dorei only so as to remember who he use to be. After two hundred years of peace and deepened awareness of self, of pure instincts, with only the worry of avoiding and opposing the expanding Nightmare, Telih heard the horn of Cenarius. Because of the intimate attachment he had formed with the world of the dream, leaving proved difficult.

By the time he left the dream, adjusted to the perception of the world again and managed to leave animal form, he found himself surrounded by the bodies of fallen Kal'Dorei, wounded, and the shattering feeling inside of him reflected, as he looked up, in the image of the now-lost World tree at Hyjal. Recovering from this series of shocks had not been easy, and his inner despair grew further as he felt the Emerald Dream become more enshrouded by the Nightmare.

His surface calmed but soul in distress, placing his hopes in maintaining the Emerald Dream as a bastion of natural purity, Telih has imposed it unto himself that he is to spend a few decades in the waking world before returning to the Dream so as to not lose his inner nature to the perfect wilds of the Dream. While serving with the Emerald Hand and several other groups with tendencies towards vigilantism, Telih has often gained balance and stability for himself through teaching both the practice and values of druidism to those willing to listen.
