Appearance

Usual Garments/Armor: Tarah usually dresses in chainmail armor, or a well-used apron. With either a longsword at her side, or a smithing hammer, Tarah is constantly at work. She prefers the chainmail outside of combat, because she feels that bulky platemail armor is meant for times of war or battle, but it still offers her a sense of security. It's incredibly difficult to work at an anvil and forge wearing such, so, when that time comes, she can be seen in cloth pants, boots, and an apron.

Other: In times of war or combat, at her side is a thick book, kept to her waist by a reinforced chain.

Personality

Alignment: Lawful Good.

Tarah has a very loving personality. Don't get lust or passion mixed up with love, for those thoughts rarely cross her mind. Motherly, caring, sweet, friendly, all of these things. That isn't to say she isn't prone to a foul mood every now and then though. Like any other human, Tarah can be angry or frustrated, even brooding or sad. However, her teachings as a squire helps her sway away from such emotions, allowing her a quick recovery time. All-in-all, Tarah can simply be described as human.

History

Tarah Oakendawn was born into a humble trading family in the year 594 in the King's Calendar. Living in the safety of northwestern Lordaeron, most of the events of the First and Second Wars had little effect on the tradesman, the seamstress and their daughter. Her father frequently traveled to the Capital City of Lordaeron, bringing her with when she was the proper age. "Proper age" meant she was smart enough to listen to her father at all times and to not play in the street as a horse came running down it. As she grew in age, so did her responsibility, to the point where she was practically running the shop while her father went out of town to sell in different areas to make more profit.

By the year 606, King's Calendar, Tarah was twelve years old and already holding great responsibility in the shop. Her mother obviously supervised, but her father taught her the tricks of the trade and showed her around the inventory. It was pretty easy, and all she really needed help with was determining how much change someone deserved. More often than not, she gave too much change, which served to exasperate her mother.

It wasn't until one fateful day that a bulky man dressed in full plate armor, adorned with gold and silver, entered the quaint shop. All he needed were some candles, but Tarah was so intrigued by this man that she simply wouldn't let him leave without answering a few questions. Her mother apologized halfway through, but the large man shook the shop with a booming laugh and said it was really no problem. A few questions turned into a hundred, and Tarah learned more that day about one man than she did in all of her years working around the shop. That day, she decided that no longer would she be Tarah Oakendawn, daughter of Jacob and Selena Oakendawn, daughter of a tradesman and seamstress, next in line for the ownership of Oakendawn General. Now she would become Tarah Oakendawn, daughter of Jacob and Selena Oakendawn, daughter of a tradesman and seamstress, soon to be squire of Dominic Lumbergale, Paladin of the Silver Hand.

608, King's Calendar

Tarah took upon the role of a squire to Dominic Lumbergale. After only a short while knowing the man outside of the shop, she found the surname quite fitting. He was a large, barrel-chested man, towering at six feet and four inches. Despite his bulky appearance, he was quite quick on his feet and managed to outrun Tarah on many occasions, even when dressed in his platemail armor. Nonetheless, Tarah enjoyed her time with Dominic greatly, finding all of his teachings to be wondrous and all of his stories even more so. The paladin was kind to the girl, giving her as much leniency as possible. However, he soon found that she could perform such mundane tasks and studies with extreme dedication. So, little by little, he placed more pressure on her until he was satisfied that the girl was putting full effort into everything she did.

And so she served under Dominic as student, squire, and friend. More often than not, it was her quick thinking that saved the life of her dearest friend. At least that's how she saw it. The bearded giant let her mind be filled with such thoughts, as he found it amusing to see her reenact battles from her point of view.

615, King's Calendar

Tarah serves her seventh year as a squire. When the day came for Tarah to replace her training sword and scrubbing brush with a warhammer and set of chainmail, Dominic couldn't have been prouder. She was twenty-one years of age, and yet she was still so full of innocence and purity. That was all about to change.

617, King's Calender

Lordaeron is forever changed. The Plague of Undeath cuts a swath of bodies across the continent. Prince Arthas Menethil returns from nowhere only to slay his father, King Terenas II, in cold blood, disappearing as quickly as he arrived. Dominic and Tarah are forced to battle the undead legions of Lordaeron; they eventually flee with the other paladins of the Silver Hand, joining with the Alliance in their mad dash west. With the fall of Lordaeron, all hope is diminished.

Then the unprecedented happens. The Night Elves, Kal'dorei in their native tongue of Darnassian, and the Horde join together with the Alliance to combat the Burning Legion. With the undead Scourge at their heels and the demonic Burning Legion pouring out of the Dark Portal, Tarah understood the need for the alliance and willingly accepted the truce, even if some of her comrades did not. Though she could not witness firsthand the Battle of Mt. Hyjal, word of the victory quickly spread across Azeroth, even to her far-removed outpost where she, Dominic and several other paladins and soldiers held out against the Scourge. With the end of the threat of the Burning Legion, the paladins slowly pulled away from their fighting and traveled south. Tarah stood with her mentor and friend, and they eventually made it to Stormwind, where they were quite happy to be rid of the constant fighting. Alas, the war was not truly over. With the high elves retreating through the Dark Portal and joining with Illidan, turning their backs to the humans, the Alliance lost more numbers than thought possible, making the diminished faction even weaker. The betrayal had hit home in Tarah's heart: she had served with many high elves during the war, and she especially enjoyed their company in the era of peace.

Everything remained quiet, and the Alliance settled down to lick its wounds. Tarah, now a veteran of the Third War, found it quite relaxing to be done with it all. On the other hand, Dominic was indignant, wanting nothing more than to smash the Scourge and retake Lordaeron. When the Dark Portal reopened, he found a suitable outlet for his righteous fury. Indeed, he was one of the first to make for Outland and lock horns with the evil Burning Legion. Tarah initially refused to go, but inevitably she stood alongside her teacher. The broken landscape of the Hellfire Peninsula and the bloodthirsty war-cries of the Fel Orcs and other demons sent a shudder down her spine. For a year she remained, in limbo between both Azeroth and the broken Outland, having vowed to hold the Stair of Destiny against the demonic hordes that threatened her world. With news of the fall of Illidan the Betrayer, she was among the first to return to Azeroth, silently praying that she would never lay eyes upon that shattered plane again.

623, King's Calendar

dread citadels dot the sky as a new Plague of Undeath razes Azeroth, a tour de force of death not seen in years. Without a doubt, the Scourge have returned to dominance and have cemented themselves as one of the greatest threats to all of the world today. All eyes turn north to the Frozen Throne, to the Lich King's domain of Northrend. The mighty war machines of both the Alliance and Horde kick into gear, establishing camp all across the continent and sending their finest champions to do battle alongside the Argent Crusade and the Knights of the Ebon Blade. Finally seeing his chance at true redemption, Dominic Lumbergale was among the first to travel north, flying the banner of the newly formed Argent Crusade. In contrast, the idea of diving into the frigid tundra, into the black heart of the Scourge, was unsavory at best to Tarah. Nonetheless, duty steeled her, and she would sail for Northrend herself, also flying the Argent Crusade's colors. She intends to see her task through and hopes to witness the Icecrown Citadel crumble before her.
