Personality

Talthen is someone rather set in his ways, and has been so for some many, many years. He has a somewhat somber voice and tends to look down upon the younger races of the world. He sees it as his duty to put a stop to anything that threatens the balance of nature and survival of his kin, and thus looks down upon the dwarves, gnomes, and goblins with particular distaste. He tries as much as he can to remain faithful to the teachings of Cenarius, and is accepting of the Tauren druids, which leads him to dislike Staghelm's actions and personality. He is also rather saddened by much of the younger Night Elves that seem to have taken on almost human-like personalities.

History

Born a mere thirteen years after the Sundering Talthen witnessed many of the horrers of that time, and was a mere child when the Night Elves abandoned their home and moved to the secluded mountaintop where the dragon aspects had created Nordrassil. His experiences with the effects of the abuse of magic have stuck with him through all the years, despite his young age, leading him to severely disapprove of arcanists. He was trained in the arts of druidism through the years and became one of the Druids of the Claw, wandering the Night Elven lands in search for ways he could further protect the world and heal the wounds that the Sundering had caused.

Though soon after his return from his travels he felt that it was his time to enter the dream, and thus he joined most of his kin in their slumber which accounted for many years of his life as he wandered the Emerald Dream. Periodicly he would wake, and once again make the same journey he always had across the elven lands, his pilgrimage occupying most of his time when he was awake before he would return to the Emerald Dream. This continued for much of his life, though he did spend a considerable amount of time outside the dream, watching the younger creatures of Kalimdor develop as the years dragged on until on one fateful day he awoke to a world stuck in turmoil. He saw the many races of the world uniting against the Burning Legion and joined them in the fight on the slopes of Hyjal, defending his home and his people. And as luck would have it, Malfurion's plan saved the day, though at the cost of the Elf's immortality, something Talthen accepted as being for the best.

He moved on from Hyjal and once again chose to travel the Night Elven lands, seeking to reacquaint himself with the pilgrimage he had always taken. He realized just how threatened they were, with assaults coming on all sides, goblins polluting, orcs leading raids, the corruption of Felwood, and set out to join the cause against these foul beings. He has recently held a particular hatred for the Venture Co. and seeks some way to bring an end to the goblin infestation, as well as the many other problems that seek to push the Night Elves from their already feeble position on Azeroth. He also noticed a change within druidic society, and began to study more than just the Stormcrow, learning the other aspects of druidism.

Talthen never supported the concept of Teldrassil, though he saw it as a necessary step towards protecting the Night Elf race and culture. He would do anything to protect his lands and his people, and so accepted the tree when it was created, despite its' obvious corruption. Though even to this day he prefers to wander the Night Elven lands, stopping from time to time so that he could assess the various threats to his race. It is his hope that one day there will be no challenges to the Night Elves, and that perhaps one day there will be a balance as there once was, as the elders say, long before the Sundering.
