Appearance

Takoda is as most warriors clad in chainmail and thick overlapping plates of steel held together with hardened leather straps. Armor that that offers formidable defense, but little maneuverability.

Personality

On the battlefield he appears as a snarling, roaring wall of steel moving like a charging kodo towards his target, attacking in blind rage with brutal ferocity. Evidently not an abstract or deep thinker in any sense, he prefers to solve any and all problems by applying generous amounts of brute force until they disappear. In terms of intelligence he ranges between low-to-average (though he will at rare occasions display an disturbing amount of cunning for someone so big and slow). He has obvious and severe problems controlling his temper and will often appear irrational, impulsive and headstrong. He will gladly take risks endangering both himself and others, even for marginal personal gain. His way to laughter is usually paved with the misfortune of others, though he does at times display a droll, dry wit lathered in sarcasm.

History

Takoda was born to the Grimtotem Clan of Thousand Needles. High atop the plateaus of the windswept valleys below, he grew into a strong boy who very early on developed a keen wish to excel in competitive games and sports. Boasting shamelessly when successful, and prone to beat and threaten his peers when not, those who could match his prowess seldom cared to do so if challenged in fear of reprisal. Wrestling, hunting and fierce combat shaped him into a ruthless fighter, though his uncaring attitude and reckless abandon was often a cause of worry for the elders of his tribe.

Four years passed after his initiation into adulthood, when a grand feast was held to celebrate the marriage of Ravon, Takodas younger brother, and the daughter of the Grimtotem Chieftain. All knew that both Takoda and his brother had sought to impress the girl, but in the end Ravon had won her hand by show of craft and cunning. Takoda had not taken this rejection at all well, and had roared loudly of revenge against his brother. Those around him had tried to calm his angry spirit, but as the merry song and rejoicing grew in strength, so did his fury. Pushing aside chair and table with a mighty bellow, he made his way towards the young couple. And as he reached them he threw his fist at Ravon with all his strength. As the screaming and panic surrounded him, Takoda succumbed to the red haze of rage and began to beat his brother mercilessly until the flame of life was irrevocably extinguished within the huddled figure.

When Takoda came to, he was chained and bound as an ox to the slaughter. He knew that what he had done would merit the harshest punishment of his tribe, but he cared little. He had proven to all that he was stronger, and that no such insult would go unpunished. As the elders spoke his sentence and banished him to exile, he laughed at their judgement. As they dragged him in chains to the edges of the Tanarian desert, he taunted his kinsmen for not taking his life. And as they threw him into the dunes and left him to the wrath of the sands, he had nothing more to say to them.
