Appearance

Whatever's going to offer the most protection, with the least weight and resistance, and provide the highest range of motion for all extremities. His gear always has to be the least imposing to his movements while still offering as much damage reduction as orcishly possible, since Aiming, Kneeling, Lying Down, and quickly moving is critical for his combat tactics.

Personality

His Alignment does play heavily into his personality. In general, Taje tries to be as flexible as possible. He naturally leans towards good behavior, but is not reluctant to lie, cheat, steal and kill if it allows him to protect himself or a friends life. He puts in an effort to keep his word of honor, normally will not kill for sheer pleasure, though is a very vengeful person. He works well within a group so long as it doesn't require him going to extremes, and would never betray a friend.

Taje is normally considered capricious by the standards of his elders, somewhat coy by his peers. Overall, he's not the type of character easily tied down without ample reward for his effort. He does try his best to stay to true to typical orc values and isn't pleased with letting down members of his race, though he is reluctant with requests that seem unreasonable for him. Some would say he'd get along better with members of other races, and although Taje doesn't hold much anger towards other races save for the Alliance in whole, He doesn't respond well to such comments.

When left to his own devices however, Taje may argue that he feels more camaraderie with machines and rifles than other living creatures, though this is an idle thought he wouldn't tell anyone flat out. He maintains a facade of normalcy, but is quick to jump on a chance for privacy with his technology. He has however, been warming up to his Wyvern.

History

He had the poor fortune of being born in an Internment camp, and the double whammy of never learning much of his Clan, the Bladewind Clan, save for that it's members dissolved into the Horde in general....and not much else beyond that. Kind of a big deal for an orc to not be raised on tales of his clans glory. The orc felt, and to some extent, was alienated by most other orcs in general save for his parents. His personality was mostly to plan. He would often just come off as...out of sync with other orcs.

He was awkward and aloof, and spent most of his time day dreaming, staring at Dwarven, Gnomish, and the rare goblin device and finding ways to include it in his fantasies. He was awkward and creepy around guards, making their lives as uncomfortable as he could before a beating ensued. He was, for the most part, as a family member once said 'The most un-extraordinary orcish child ever born. Ever.'

Taje did have traits that would make him an ideal Hunter. Ideal, not the best, or top ten. Just ideal. He was fast, he was quiet, he was calculating. Taje was accurate and practically had tunnel vision when he focused on something. He was never going to win a fight with brute force. But a little distance and ample gunpowder would work well for him, as he would eventually learn.

Being freed by Thrall did rank up there in terms of significant moments in his life, however. He didn't obsess over the Future Warchief, Current Savior the way the others did. He silently offered his saviors a silent thank you as they led Taje, his family, and the others away from the Internment and to their future.

Adapting to the new lifestyle was easy. Taje did what the elders told him to do, and then slinked off to read Goblin manuals and books regarding engineering when he had free time. Rifling technology was still technically in it's infancy, but Taje saw the potential. If the technology advanced enough, it could make even the most vicious orc warrior obsolete. Anyone who fought hand to hand would be signing their life away. Mages would be neutered by relying on their bodies own stamina. No one was going to survive a metal pellet or bullet impaling itself deep inside their squishy white matter.

Taje was never going to live up to his families expectations. He was never going to don the armor of a warrior, wield a well-made orcish axe, and dedicate his life to the alliances destruction. No. Their son was going to sit quietly inside a bush for hours on end and safely shoot tiny metal pellets at enemies who could never possibly reach him in time. The thought of this didn't swim well with father, who grew up viewing the strength and bravery and tenacity of a rampaging orcish warrior as the alpha and omega of the battlefield. Hearing that your son was going to forsaken that to do something as cowardly as kill enemies without even being in combat was a blow to the mans ego. Taje hasn't seen him since.

His mother didn't seem to mind. Not that she was thrilled either. Taje did get into frequent debates with her regarding how no one showed such disdain for the Bow and Arrow, but the rifle was apparently a cowards tool. Because a bullet is somehow less honorable to use in combat than an arrow. Taje rants often ended with his mother dismissing him promptly with a gentle scolding, namely with a whack to the back of the head.

Most orcs remember their first hunt vividly. Ask Taje about his first rifle and he could tell you about the way it smelled when he first purchased it. The warmth of the metal and wood after firing. The feel of the trigger pressing against the skin of his finger as he fired it. He salivated at the smell in the air after firing a round. He, in the most creepy of ways possible, referred to each shot of his rifle as a "Cry of Lust" and valued the Rifle as the Omega of killing technology...though the power of the rifle on a technological level still needed many years of work. He was obsessed.

He used various unlucky creatures to observe the physiological damage a 'non lethal' bullet wound dealt. He learned that even the smallest bit of damage in the right spot could reduce the range of motion for that part of the body for life, even cripple it. How easily you can bleed out from a shot to the leg. How useless the arm could become if you hit the right spot in the shoulder.

Taje has been learning the insides and outs of ranged weapons for years now. He feels as powerful with a gun in his hands as warrior does with an axe. Stronger even. He knows he can shoot the bastard before that axe even touches him. "Screw the Axe. I'm the one with the gun."

Currently, Taje takes a vested interest in the aerodynamics of ammo. He lacks the mathematical knowledge to do much with this interest however, and studies frequently in order to improve on these issues. He hopes to develop more penetrative and accurate ammo that can be produced easily and cheaply, and hopes to develop it before he dies, since it's probably a long shot to begin with.

Get it, Long Shot?
