Personality

Taggart is characterized by a world worn air about him. He can be said to display a measure of practical wisdom rarely seen in the ordinary stargazing magi that populate Azeroth and prides himself in looking at “the big picture”. A tad cocky in his own right, this man posses an ambition and hunger for knowledge and secrets which makes him an adventurer at heart.

A citizen of Theramore and fervent supporter of Jaina Proudmoore, this Mage is fairly tolerant of most races, at least to a reasonable degree, and is used to rubbing shoulders with Night Elves, High Elves, Gnomes and Dwarves. Towards the old alliance he holds a bit of distaste, but nothing he can not overcome in the name of research. Possessing a minor interest in politics and history, Taggart's true love resides in the Arcane and the natural laws of the world, even the Titans, which have been exposed to him by the Dwarves of Theramore.

For all of this, though, it can be said Taggart lacks a bit of moral fiber. In pursuit of knowledge the mage will tend to overlook the petty qualms that divide right from wrong. His view of the issues fixed in logic, rather then emotion.

History

Taggart was born in Kul Tiras to a family of moderate wealth. As a young child he was discovered to posses some magical affinity and so he began his schooling in the ways of the Arcane. Into his late teens, he was due to visit Dalaran for further training, however a crisis within his own family, the death of his father, prevented him from leaving. Dropping out of his studies, Taggart took up a job aboard a merchant vessel and worked as a seamen into his mid twenties. Perhaps it was that tingling sensation he was thrilled with when he cast spells, or his thirst for knowledge, but it was often that this human considered dropping his job and continuing his apprenticeship. For the sake of his mother, who now depended upon his income, Taggart would not quit his job until her death.

The man never forgot Magic, and when his mother died he was presented with an opportunity to again pursue its study. After a period of mourning the realization dawned upon the young adult, Taggart, that he was no longer responsible for the welfare of another person. Quitting his job without guilt, he jumped ship at a Lordearon port and again studied the arcane, building his power as a mage until his late twenties.

As the plague swept across Lordearon, an air of misery and gloom fell across the land. For Taggart, hope came in the form of Jaina, a powerful sorceress from his homeland of Kul Tiras. Offering an exodus from the suffering of the Eastern Kingdoms, Taggart quickly volunteered to join her group in its flight to the mysterious land of Kalimdor. Among Jaina and her forces, Taggart bore witness to the brutality of Orcs, the stalwart spirit of Humans and the savagery of Night Elves, as well as the union all three races forged in the battle of mount Hyjal. Taggart was one of the Magi stationed in Jaina's camp, and as such was one of the first to witness the terrible wrath of the Burning Legion upon that day.

Luckily, Taggart was able to teleport himself and a few other warriors to safety when all seemed to be lost. In the battle, this human magi suffered some major injuries including the breaking of both his legs. That injury still afflicts him to this day, and the Mage limps a tad when he walks.

Since the monumental battle against the demonic army, Taggart has taken up a life as a citizen mage in Theramore. He has seen the tensions rise and fall between his people and the Horde, and when Jaina's father came to town, he showed his true allegiance by being complacent with their female leaders commands, even when the Horde overran their city.

When the Burning Blade cult was exposed, it was not an entirely important affair to this mage. Though it was astounding and horrifying that hatred would drive humans to take after the worship of demons, it effected him little. He had neither been a member of the cult, nor was he directly involved in it's dismantling. As far as this citizen knew, a cult had been stopped, Jaina promoted a new a Chamberlain, and tensions with the Horde again deflated.

These days, Taggart has taken to travel amongst the various human city-states including Stormwind, Dalaran, Theramore, and Stromgarde. He continues to study magic and delve into the deep places of the world in pursuit of knowledge and power.
