Unless around friends, which she has little of these days, Swyll is very quiet and protective of herself, preffering to sit away from the crowds of people and observe from afar. Being this loner type she rarely asks for help from strangers, only requiring aid from friends if it is a necessity, thinking that she can do almost anything with just herself and her companion, Sothran.

Her friends however, know how to break down the thick walls surrounding Swyll's true nature, a very headstrong, rebellious woman with the occaisional childish streak in her behaviour. Around her peers and partners she is still quite quiet, unless it comes to defending something, or someone she loves, where she will fight tooth and nail to make sure her point is put across.

Although being treated badly as a child she will eventually open up to anyone willing to put the effort in to talk to her, only really wanting to belong in life, have someone to love her as much as she loves them.

History

Swyll was born into a noble family living in Silvermoon, but from the second she was brought into the world her mother despised Swyll. The baby Quel'dorei was apparently, the "wrong type" of baby, her mother wanted a little girl with the same deep, dark brown hair colour that every female in her family had been born with, except this "abomination" had the same pale, milky blonde colour as her father.

Right from the start Swyll's mother had hated her, keeping the poor child locked up in her room, barely leaving the cot she slept in while her parents were out doing their daily walks around the city, meeting with friends while their child was left at home. Unless her father, who adored the baby girl, sent someone to look after Swyll without his wife knowing, she'd be all alone most days, not seeing her parents. The problem was that although her mother wanted nothing more than to wipe this "thing" from her life, her husband kept the baby safe, occaisionally sneaking in to cuddle the infant, who would probably beat the ranger within an inch of his life if she found out he actually did his job as a father and looked after her.

As soon as Swyll was able to walk she was trouble, often causing the sitters big problems each time one would come along to help out, her behaviour grating on each of the elves nerves before they simply gave up on the young elf. She was fine on her own though, able to search through the house for food and drink, quickly learning to look after herself even at a young age. Eventually though, every one of the elves in Silvermoon willing to look after Swyll refused, saying that she was too much to handle.

Giving in to his fatherly needs he secretly took Swyll into his care, bringing the girl to the place where he secretly trained in Eversong. Swyll quickly gained her skills in archery as her father taught her how to wield a bow and arrow, leaving her to practice on her own while he returned to his wife to keep her from getting suspicious. As she grew her skill in archery increased immensly, almost matching her father's capabilities. After years of training both Swyll and her father decided that she needed to see the world, to venture out and find a life away from her mother.

She made her way south through the forests of Eversong, keeping away from civilisation, preffering to stay on her own, camping out in the wilderness. Through the nights she reminded herself of the stories her dad used to tell her, one in particular about a certain lynx that had made it's home nearby where she had camped one night. The next day she was having a wash in a nearby river when she was tackled suddenly from behind, knocking both her and her attacker into the water, the two wrestling under the water as the current took them both downstream. Fighting for her life she barely keeps herself from being torn in two as the very same lynx that was in the stories was trying to rip her apart, slashing and biting at her while the two bodies floated down the river. Her father had taught her about Nature, how to love and cherish it, about the balance of life. Her mind screamed to simply kill the beast attacking her but she tried her best to hold the huge claws off while pulling herself up to get a needy breath of air. Eventually the two came to a bend in the river, both now completely exhausted their bodies wash up on the nearby bank, conciousness slipping from her as the beast lay nearby. Finally having regained the lost energy she pulled herself up, noticing that the large lynx still lay lifelessly on the bank, instantly she made up her mind, taking ahold of the massive lump she dragged him to a safe place in the woods close by before using what little resources she had she nursed the beast back to health, proud of what she'd done to an attacker that earlier would've gladly ripped her throat out. Due to this act, both Sothran and Swyll travel together as a team, protecting eachother to the death as they travel south.

After months of travelling down through endless forests Swyll and Soth came to the Hinterlands, deciding to live with the high elves that had convieniently made their homes near the northern border. Swyll lived a quiet life here, learning from a couple of elves that lived with her about the way of hunting, using her excellent archery she picked the skill of trapping, watching, waiting for the prey to come to her. Taking both aspects of training together she learnt how to become a hunter, with her bow and her companion Soth she helped the Quel'dorei in the Hinterlands with their daily lives, and in turn, they gave her a place to stay.

After years of learning from her fellow elves she decided it was time to return to Silvermoon and visit her father. The only problem was, this time there were no forests, just barren wastes with skeletons and undead roaming about. Unknowing of what transpired she carefully makes her way north, back to her homelands to find that most of the beautiful forests were now dark, lifeless landscapes, her body shivering as she walked through the "forest". Hurriedly she made her way to the place where her father had trained her, finding the small pocket of land to have been ransacked of anything useful, and everything torn to shreds. Remembering about a certain spot in the house she quickly made her way through the rubble to a small area in her father's room, trying to find the tiny doorway in the wall that led to his "safe". Finding the hidden wall she opened it to find his prized bow wrapped in his family's cloak. Attached to them there was a note saying that she should keep these posessions safe, holding onto them dearly should something happen.

This worried her, taking her father's belongings she quickly made her way to Silvermoon, taking out any of the mindless undead that got in her way. Her eyes weeped as she found Silvermoon in ruins, a massive gaping hole in the wall as the undead crawled over it. She slipped in past the scattered forces, her eyes tracing over the bodies for any sign of her father, anything to find out what happened. After a good few days searching under every bit of stone and wood littering the streets she gave up, fleeing the burning city with Sothran to somewhere, anywhere, just away from this mess.

Her feet carried her south, far past her home in the Hinterlands, far past a lot of the southern Alliance towns and settlements, keeping her own company with Soth and herself to the most southern part of the Eastern Kingdoms, Booty Bay. Wanting to get as far away from her home as possible she docked a ship for Ratchet, making her way for the unknown, Kalimdor.

Eventually her ship made land on Kalimdor, in the goblin town of Ratchet. She found that making money in this land, although easy, was considerably frustrating as the goblins gave the minimal when it came to what she had to sell. Her hunts with Sothran in the plains were simple, the animals weren't as smart as the ones nearer her homelands, which made them easy kills for the duo. The next few years flew by, her horrific thoughts of finding her father as one of the mindless undead leaving her mind as she worked on making a living in the plains of the Barrens.
