Usual Garments/Armor: Spark wears a variety of clothing which includes red and grey leathers which he will use when there is chance of conflict. If not in his leathers it is likely he will be seen in simply clothing made of cloth or thin leather. He usually wears his lucky red goggles as well.

Personality: Cocky, arrogant, stubborn, sarcastic and ingenious would be Spark's most prominent traits. He cares little for authority and does what he pleases. He is prone to excessive drinking and becomes overly aggressive when drunk which can be quite comical if he is trying to start a fight with someone over twice his height, until he pulls a knife out, stabs them in the leg then runs off. He is overly cautious of everyone and is prone to eavesdropping and spying. Despite all of this, he can be friendly and light hearted and is very well informed about matters of engineering and delights in discussing such matters with others of equal understanding and love of tinkering.

Whether he keeps to his word or not is usually determined by how much gold he is getting. He is always in need of gold to fund his expensive tinkerings. He is not necessarily evil but simply trained in the ways of spying, stealing and killing. If someone needs something done, no matter the moral issue, it is likely Spark will do it.

History: Sonvan was born to a fairly poor family of a travelling gnomish salesman. He lived with 3 other brothers and 2 sisters, Sonvan being the second oldest. His father would often leave for months at a time, leaving his mother with little money to survive which meant as soon as Sonvan and his siblings were old enough they were forced to get a job and only Yswana his elder sister got a proper education. Sonvan was lucky enough to get a job as an engineer's assistant, and so started a lifelong obsession. The pay was not good but with all his siblings with jobs life got easier for the family. Sonvan very rarely saw his father whose trips became longer and longer and eventually he only came back once or twice a year. His mother was working full time so he had no real relationship with either of his parents.

After many years helping the engineer, Caror Dorcyn, he was offered an apprenticeship which he took without second thought. His employer taught him everything he could over many years, but Sonvan was always wanting to try new things and invent new devices. Unfortunately Caror was old and he was content to just build the same wares as he always had. At the age of 30, an incident involving a tinderbox and Caror's entire firework collection not only got Sonvan fired but also gave him the nickname ‘Spark'. Sonvan found it difficult to get another job, very few people seemed to be interested in an apprentice tinkerer and he started spending a lot of time on the streets. Inevitably he fell in with the wrong kind of gnomish crowd where he was taught how to steal, spy and fight.

He fitted in well with this group of thieves and vagabonds, he used the gold he made to not only further his engineering knowledge but he also started receiving professional fighting classes. He became fairly skilled in the use of swords, daggers and fist weapons and although he was not particularly strong even by gnomish standards, he was quick and agile and that was and still is something that puts him on par with other races in combat that are many times stronger than him.

Once Gnomeregan fell though, he decided not to stay in Ironforge with the rest of his family but hire himself out as a thief, a spy and even an assassin if the price was right. Since then his morals have gone down, but his coffers have increased.
