Personality

Alignment: Chaotic good

The world is split into two groups, so Songan believes, the group that is with him, and the one that is against him. Anything in between is not worth fussing over and thus garners none of his attention.

Pride is not a trait which Songan holds highly and can be seen as mellow because of it. “Honor gets you killed” he says and instead of aiming for glory he aims for functionality.

According to this Night Elf, the Kaldorei culture is quickly becoming outdated. His people have become too comfortable with their stagnant ways of life and Songan preaches that the only way to continue their important roll in Azeroth is to adapt, much like the young and fleeting races do. Despite his willingness for change, however, he still clings to some of his cultural heritage, holding fast to the veneration of Elune and he will often use Darnassian to greet people and speak with those savvy to the language.

Nature is cruel, and so is Songan. The way he sees it, he can best serve the natural order by keeping himself alive and well. This may become a point of conflict among more traditional Night Elves as because of it he does not hesitate to take an animals life or chop down a tree should it be in his best interests.

The direct approach is always best for this elf, but should that fail, a bullet in the back will serve just as fine. He is a tactician of sorts, preferring guerrilla warfare and ambush to achieve military goals.

History

Songan was raised as an honest elf and as most males was taught to be a druid. Druidism never really fit him though, he was too raw, too uninterested. So eventually, around his fiftieth year he was one of the rare men who quit the druids path in favor to learn the arts of war, like women. Of course, Songan was seen as an oddball an outsider, and a tad feminine. However the elf was able to overcome and thrive among the warriors of his people, especially showing promise as a marksman.

Life was hard for Songan during the old ways of the Night Elven people. When the Third war rolled around and the races of the Eastern Kingdoms re-discovered Kalimdor, Songan was deployed to fight against the Warsong clan in their initial lumber projects in the Night Elven forests. This negative contact with Orcs brewed Songan's hate for that ‘Green Pestilence' which can still be noted today.

Songan was injured by an Orc axe during his defense of the forests and because of this was removed from action for some time. The hideous scar left by the incident can still be recognized as a mar traveling diagonally from his right shoulder to the left side of his torso on his back. This removal from the frontlines drove Songan to learn more of tactics and military stratagem. His education flourished in this period but by the time he was healed, the elf had missed the Third War.

Life in Elven lands improved a small portion, with the greater acceptance of Male warriors and priests and Female druids, in the wake of the Third War's close. Mortality never really upset the elf, welcoming it as a chance to live in even greater ecstasy. “To truly appreciate life, one needs to know of the daunting shadow that is death.” He claims. Thus, he was and still is opposed to the new world tree. “Even now the Kaldorei cling to the ruins of the past, change is not their strong suit.”

Instead of remaining with his old people, Songan left to visit the mortal races, a new and interesting subject. His first stop was Theramore, the Human colony in Kalimdor. In this place he met one of the Banebeard Clan. The dwarf he met was on his way to join up with an Uncle in Bael Moddan and though their meeting was brief and fleeting, a mere drink together in a tavern, Songan was inspired by the stories of the Dwarf. This wet his appetite for not only Eastern Kingdom culture, but adventure.

In the Eastern Kingdoms, Songan first shaved his head. The long green hair that had decorated his scalp was stylish in Kalimdor, but less so in the Eastern Kingdoms. Looking for something still exotic though, to impress the mortal girls, he took up the habit of wearing a Mohawk.

His second order of business in this strange new land was to travel. He went out and saw the sights, from Stranglethorn to the Hinterlands. In such travels, Songan picked up a few tricks and a few devices, the most precious of which being his rifle, a prized possession he is unlikely to go anywhere without.

Currently, Songan has become involved with a military order of the Alliance, and shows great promise within it's ranks.
