Solimar is pacifistic, stubborn, and overwhelmingly forgiving. Her faith in the Light supercedes her faith in human establishments, or in humans themselves for that matter, and she does her best to live by its tenets, even when people are frustrating and willfully ignorant. Solimar is extremely wary of rote and dogma in her approach to faith and believes that true respect for the Light and for people can only be achieved through mutual understanding.

She will communicate freely with members of the Horde as long as they do not approach her as immediately hostile. Solimar is of the belief that sustained warfare cannot be beneficial to the Alliance, and the only path to lasting prosperity is diplomacy.

History

The woman that would later be named Solimar was born in Stormwind as the middle child of a close-knit family of eight, about thirty years before the opening of the Dark Portal. Stormwind had always been a military nation, but in the period before the Grand Alliance most of these forces were used to patrol its borders against the other human kingdoms. She took numerous careers during this time, and eventually ended up working at a hospital as a healer.

When Stormwind was evacuated following the assassination of King Llane, the surviving six members of her family settled in northeastern Tirisfal. Solimar became estranged from them after an affair with her brother's wife, and told them that she would be moving away, back to the now-rebuilt Stormwind. She soon found she didn't have the resources for this trip, and simply resettled further south in Tirisfal. She took the unglamorous job here of resident chaplain for a nearby internment camp, which was a step above veterinarian in the minds of most people.

She was recruited into the Scarlet Crusade in the aftershocks of the siege of her village by the Scourge along with the few other survivors of the attack that had taken shelter in the cathedral. The Crusade, eager for more footsoldiers, ordained her as a Confessor. Solimar was more than eager to help the Crusade in their advances against the undead, but became increasingly uncomfortable with the xenophobia towards fellow sentient alliance races displayed by the order. She requested a dismissal from her commanding officer, but the conversation turned violent and she was barely able to escape with her life.

She may not have survived at all had she not been found by a Forsaken healer, who ignored her tabard and was able to keep her alive. Unfortunately, the trauma to Solimar's skull was irrepairable, and it was a month before she could stand unaided. Her balance and vision would both be severely impaired for the rest of her life.

When she learned it was one of the undead that had saved her, she was furious. Solimar did not believe the forsaken's claims to be Solimar's niece, and the former Crusader lashed out with magic as well as she was able to. The forsaken woman left Solimar to fend for herself after this, and it was only with considerable luck that she was able to find her way to the Bulwark, where the Argent Dawn recieved her.

The woman spent six weeks at the Bulwark before taking a caravan to Light's Hope Chapel. It was here she began living under the name Solimar, knowing that if the Dawn knew she was formerly Scarlet, or if the Scarlets knew she was alive, there would be trouble. She spent a few years in Light's Hope before moving to Stormwind, where she currently lives and is an active advocate of peace between the Alliance and Horde.
