Personality

Warm and nurturing, Skysong is the epitome of all positive Tauren traits. She is patient, slow and thoughtful, with a strong respect for life and for health and for the life and health of the earth. It takes a great deal to offend her or rile her up in any fashion -- although a disrespect for the Earthmother (or a harsh criticism of her storytelling) can set her off quite quickly. All in all, however, she is aware of her massive size and strength, and does her best to speak and move with a high level of care for her surroundings.

There is a streak of playfulness and mischief in her, for all that she is kind and motherly. It brings her joy to gently tease others, especially when it will bring a smile to an otherwise dour face.

Skysong can sometimes be a bit slow on the uptake, however. Deceit is not in her nature, along with politicking and double-entendres. Her straightforward nature makes it easy to insult her without her knowing, but it also means she gets lost easily in complex conversations. She prefers the simplicity of storytelling, with a beginning, a middle, and an end, and preferably a moral to tie the entire thing together.

History

The Skysong clan was once the name of a small sub-tribe of the Bloodhoof tribe, closely related to the Mistrunner clan, and one of the youngest members a female with a strong connection to the Earthmother, named Pella.

While raised amongst the other spiritual hopefuls of her clan, it was clear that her short attention span was a hindrance to her spiritual studies. A penchant for asking fantastical questions and getting distracted by the slightest shift in the winds made Pella a poor pupil, and while she always had a desire to be better, her work ethic remained lacking. Her clan remained supportive, helping her become a young Tauren of enough skill about the tribe to be useful. Her constant daydreaming led to a reevaluation of her place in the clan. She soon became the lore-keeper of the tribe, learning the stories and traditions of her people to pass down to the younger generations. Still she kept her knowledge of the shamanistic and spiritual ways, eventually joining a great number of her tribesmen in learning more of the Night Elves' druidism. Mixing history, storytelling, music, and the magic of the Earthmother, Pella came into her adulthood wiser than expected, with the solemnity of her peers that had also chosen to follow a spirits-guided path.

Upon the assimilation of the Tauren race into the Horde, most of the Skysong clan found their special connection with the spirits and with the Earthmother used frequently, and violently. Druids and shaman banded together to protect their new allies, and even their strongest healers fell in battle to the might of the Alliance. Slowly and systematically, the warriors and spiritualists of the Skysong Clan were picked off, leaving only Pella as the last of her family.

Taking up the mantle of her now dead Clan as her preferred name, Skysong refused to go forth and fight. Her association with the Night Elf druids, as well as the Wildhammer Dwarves and other druidic races, taught her strength of heart and mind instead of strength of arm, pulling her from the path set by Cairne Bloodhoof and his alliance with Thrall. While not broken from the Horde, she has chosen a new path as her life enters it's noontime, choosing to be a wandering collector of stories and song, and to extend a helpful and healing hoof to all who need and accept it.
