Personality

Shamra is overal easygoing and caring, especially towards members of the tribe. Due to being raised according to the ancient traditions, she's humble towards male trolls, especially in her first approach. If she knows them better, she will act more informal. She is up for a good laugh and likes to tease others, as long as she's sure she can get away with it.

She is a bit racist, thinking that trolls are te best race, seeing they are the oldest one on Azeroth. She prefers to speak in Zandali, but will switch to Orcish if others do that as well. She will approach Orcs and Tauren in a friendly way though, seeing they are allies of the Darkspears. Undead, on the other hand, are despised by her, for they are unnatural and conflicting with the Loa Sam'di. The only acception she makes is for undead trolls, since well... they are trolls after all. Elves are in her eyes just weak and strange. Especially blood elves, with their excessive use of magic and posh way of life. She looks down upon goblins, for they don't care about honour, just about their selfish gains of shinies. However, she's often trading with their for her own supply of copper, which she saves up for emergencies, like helping out her trade members. Shamra simply distrusts the members of the alliance. She'll avoid and ignore them when possible, but if she would feel threathened or cornered, whe would reply fiercely.

History

Shamra was born as second child to her parents. She had a brother who was six years older then her. Her father was a dominant man, whilst her mother hardly ever said a word. Shamra can't recall to have seen her mother laugh sometime. Her father inclined to traditions, and so Shamra learned to know her duties from a early age, for that was all she would need in her life.

She was only a young child when the murlocs started to kidnap for their sacrifices. At that time, she didn't really understand what was happening, she learned that at a later stage. She has vague memories of desperate calls as hostages were taken away. Her mother and Shamra were then hiding in their hut, with her brother standing guard.

Then the orcs came and took the tribe to Kalimdor. The young Shamra was amazed to be on such a large vessels for such a long time. The playground wasn't that large though, so she was happy when they arrived at the Echo Isles and she could finally run around freely again. Her father was rather sceptical about the Orcs. He was grateful that they helped out the trolls, but in his opinion the orcs couldn't expect from the trolls to give up their ways.

When Proudmore came her father and brother fought fiercely to defend the tribe, but couldn't prevent them to have to retreat to Orgrimmar. Shamra didn't like it in the city at all. It was way too crowded and closed, with all those walls around it. She was glad when Vol'jin gave the sign to return to the Isles, where she would have her own space again. Sadly enough the peace didn't last long, as Zalazane went on a rampage. One day her father returned without her brother after they went out hunting. Her brother was taken by Zalazanes followers and got mindcontrolled. Her father bittered and would never forgive himself for letting his precious son be turned into a mindless slave.

The tribe fled the isles and formed Sen'jin village. Shamra's father wasn't too happy to be on the mainland, as the influences of the orcs and other races grew larger. Shamra thought Durotar to be an alien land, with its barren land, and it took her quite some time to get adapted to it. Her father joined the hunters, in order to have enough food for the tribe. Often Orcs would visit the village, and she was curious about them. More and more of the women started to follow fighting classes with the males. Most of them were humiliated, and been called names. But a few managed to become best of their class, drawing the respect of both the males as Shamra. But she knew she couldn't join them, for her father was taking more and more of her freedom, in order to protect her from the influences. He promised her that he would curse her if she would ever wear armor and fight. Shamra didn't dare to doubt his words.

When Shamra turned seventeen, her father was slowly giving her some more freedom. Often she was send away to run errands. At first no farther then the nearby Orc camp, but she was sent further and further each time. Eventually he sent her to Ratchet to get herself cloth for new robes. He handed her the pouch with coins and told her: "Don't come back without cloth. You need to make yourself new clothes. Goods are more wanted when they have a nice package." She couldn't find any decent cloth in Ratchet and asked a passing troll for advice. He took her along to Booty Bay, where she would buy several stacks of cloth. He told her things that made her wonder, like that a female he was liking didn't notice him. Shamra was surprised to hear the male speak about it so openly, cleary not thinking in the traditional way. She had plenty to time to think on the way back, as he couldn't join her, but brought her to the ship. Back at village she kept a few copper for herself and asked for permission to go to Ratchet again. She wanted more time, away from the village, and enjoy the freedom she had now, without being someones mate. Her father was reluctant, but decided to let her go after she promissed to make a few coins on the way by offering her tailoring services.

She was happy to see several trolls when she arrived in Ratchet. But none of them was interested in new clothes... She was wandering around the village, afraid that she couldn't keep up her promise and might lose permission to go out again. To her surprise, one of the trolls, apparently a leader, asked her if she wanted to put her skills in service of the tribe. Well, that was a no-brainer for her, of course she wanted that. It was an honor! She thought about it for a few moments, and decided that her father wouldn't mind... she would finally make herself useful after all.
