Shalis at her best is a caring mother to all her friends and those she holds dear, and will not think twice before putting her own body at risk for them. She bears a tragic past with her, but she at most times prefers to keep it to herself. But at her worst? Shalis can be considered cold, brutal, and without a doubt a fierce archer. She is proficient with the bow and a bladed spear, and she will have no second thoughts or hesitations to use her skills upon all those who threaten her, her race, or the forests.

History

Shalis's story begins a long time ago, a very long time ago. Back when the world was new, and Azeroth was down on its luck. And everywhere gigantic brutes called titans ra- No not that old. Shalis was born to her mother, a strong and dominant woman, but with a soft smile. And to her father, a soft man with a big heart and a love for all things living. A truly strange pair, one might say... And soon, they gave birth to a healthy female, Shalis.

Shalis grew up to become a healthy strong female, her mother teaching her most of her life the arts of the bow and spear, though she never showed any real prowess in the latter, Shalis found herself highly talented with a bow. Shalis became a strong woman, her beauty like most of their races female grew with age. At the age of one thousand and three hundred, she had met a male, his name was Rijar, a handsome man. After years of slowly growing fond of each other, the two had finally become mated... They lived happily for seven hundred years, and Shalis's parents approved greatly of their long relationship.

And so, times changed. Kaldorei began their worship of nature, and the study of the well of eternity... Life was perfect, peaceful, Shalis was with Rijar for a long time and she could not be happier. She was bearing his child for eight months! And then came the day it all changed... The Highborne and Azhara went mad! They began their dangerous study of the arcane, and the eventual worship of demons! Eventually a war broke out as the now mad Highborn began their rituals... Shalis's parents were casualties of war. Shalis grew depressed, when the Well of Eternity was sundered, and her husband brought to the Emerald dream, she was all alone.

A week later, during hours of labor and pain, Shalis at long last gave birth to a healthy female... In honor to her mate, and his sacrifice, she had named the female Rija. For years, Shalis had taken care of her daughter with the utmost of care, and she loved her with all of her heart. She was becoming just like her mother, and followed the path of the bow and spear. For two thousand years, Shalis had watched her daughter grow into a beautiful and strong woman. That is when Shalis was called upon to duty, to fight against the looming threats! Shalis without the slightest of hesitation. She remembered the day she left, and the exact words she spoke to her daughter. "Remember, my child... Even at darkest times, Elune's light shines brightly." She slung her bow over her shoulder, planting a loving kiss on Rija's forehead, and left.It was a different time... A simpler time; and Shalis still wonders how would the world be like if it remained as such?

Shalis fought valiantly in many battles for the next thousand years, until at long last after what seemed like a hopeless battle... It was a war of many terrible things, and Shalis has bared witness to some many close friends falling in battle... The experience hardened her, but she refused to break. Soon, she would return home to her Rija, and continue to train her. Life will once again be perfect. Shalis at long last returned to the beautiful woods of Ashenvale, with light steps of joy to see her old home, she went to her small and modest house only to open the door. Her eyes widened, the bow fell from her hand. She saw her daughter... With another woman. Shalis was filled with anger, with sorrow. How could her daughter be anything less then perfectly normal?! After all she had done for her! Shalis and Rija broke into a loud yelling match, which ended with Shalis, in her rage to disown her own child.

The years grew by as Shalis continued to serve her people, but her memories weighed on her. After sixty years of not talking to her own child, she attempted to make amends. Her daughter never forgave her for the words she had spoken, and the treatment she had given her. Soon, the Highborne were exiled but that event took no heavy impact upon Shalis. She grew more distant, finding comfort only when she was serving tirelessly. She found a little bit of shelter in revering Elune, but not much. The years continued to pass by, Shalis grew older in mind, but never in body. So much time, and throughout those thousands of years she kept trying to make amends with Rija, apologizing and begging to her to forgive her foolishness. She never got the redemption she sought.

A while later, to date a thousand years back, broke out the wars of the shifting sands. Shalis was quick to take bow, and to prevent her own daughter from applying to the battle. She would take no risks with her, even if she hated her or not, she would not place her child in harm's way, no matter the cost. Rija was of course, furious at this action, but Shalis would not have it otherwise. And so, she left to fight the long and dreaded war against the swarm. Shalis had suffered many terrifying images from the war... A black swarm sweeping across the land as arrows seemed to rain upon it endlessly and to no avail. It would be images that would hunt Shalis's mind for a long time, if not the rest of her existence.

And after a long time of peace for the Kaldorei people, the third war broke loose. Strange green creatures began cutting down woods! Their woods! How dare they?! Shalis developed a deep burning hatred for Orcs, for how they defiled the land like so. And soon, after tireless battles against the Orcs, the Humans, and the Scourge... Came the battle of mount Hyjal. Shalis proudly fought among her sisters, her arrows piercing through demon after demon. But alas, eventually Shalis was left alone against one of the large Abominations, and in that battle she lost. The last thing she remembered is a huge hulking fist connecting to her face, sending her out cold, and permanently scarring her lip. She awoke in a medical tent, a priestess watching over her with a sad smile. "I-is it over, sister?" Shalis asked tiredly. The priestess nodded. "It is."

Only a few days afterwards, was Shalis informed of the fate of the life tree. Shalis mourned the loss of her people's loss, but knew it was a sacrifice that had to be made. She had come to terms with her now mortal state. Shalis never gave up hope, and she knew that the dangers ahead, would not be fought alone.

Shalis at most times can be found in Teldrassil, roaming the woods and serving her people in any way she could, despite nearing retirement soon.

Skills and abilities

"Eyes to the distance." - Shalis is very gifted in a long sight, able to catch things from a great distance at low light sources, such as moonlight.

"Thousand gold coin shot." - Shalis can hit a target from an almost absurd distance, and usually hits spot on. Due to this, she can't fire rapidly.

"Prowler." - Shalis is also gifted in knowledge of camaflouge, and stealth. Though not to the level of a master, she may hide herself among nature rather well.

Weaknesses:

"Back in my days!" - Shalis is old. Very old. And due to her age, she isn't too physically powerful, nor withstanding.

"I ain't like I used to be..." - Shalis can not run for much, nor can she keep up to any hard work. She would soon be exhausted, sore, and out of breath.

"So wait, how do I hold this thing?" - Shalis is very poor with new technolegy, unable to handle something as simple as a crossbow or a rifle.
