This elf wears a simple vest, pants, boots and a hat, all black. A black cloak is on his back and gloves of the same color on his hands. He shaves frequently, at most only having a greenish 5 o'clock shadow. More often than not he carries a spiked staff on his back. A gold chain hangs out of his right pocket. Every now and then you'll see him reach in and open up a gold pocketwatch with 26 hours. There is a similar chain around Sagi's neck, though this one black. It seems to be a necklace, with the object on it just hidden beneath his shirt, however he never pulls the necklace up to show what's there.

Personality

Alignment: Neutral

Sagi is quite the clever elf. He isn't extremely academic or verbose, but instead quick witted. He can think on his feet and normally hold his own in a conversation or argument. In a fight he seems to prefer that same tactic of relying on brains instead of brawn. While he normally avoids combat altogether when it cannot be helped he resorts to trickery to make it out alive. When all else fails, he doesn't have a problem with running away.

He is also a genuinely friendly person. Sure from time to time he is tempted down darker paths to do unsavory work. However, this does not detract from his sociable nature. He likes to laugh, have fun, feel excited, and most of all enjoy the company of other people. The only way to do this is to surround himself with people that he can enjoy. Unfortunately, in Sagi's line of work he rarely meets upbeat people like himself. This leads to him spending a lot of time by himself and while he doesn't like it, he would never complain about it.

Though Sagi would loath to admit it, he has a strong fear of death. He has already died once and in his opinion it's a miracle he was given a second chance. However, Sagi does not believe that a third chance will come his way. This has made him extremely cautious about how he lives his life. When it comes down to it people, the very creatures that give him so much pleasure, are the very things that could take everything away. The very solitude he dislikes becomes his only bastion from the world.

This fear has become a paranoia in the back of his head, stopping him from getting closer to new people. There are those who have his trust already. For all others he prefers they walk into his life for a few fleeting moments of entertainment before disappearing altogether. When this doesn't seem the case Sagi takes it upon himself to disappear before someone has the chance to stab him in the back.

History

For much of Sagi's life he was devoted to the goddess Elune and furthering her cause. He gave up many things in life like wealth, power, even romance, to focus on the singular task of serving Elune. He wanted to truly understand his faith and hoped that by doing this he would understand the goddess. Sagi resolved never to leave elven lands, pledging his eternal life to his goddess.

For a little over 300 years Sagi was faithful to his goal, eventually confined to Darnassus and even then rarely ever stepping out of the temple. He was dedicated to reaching enlightenment and felt that once he did the rest of life would be a clear path, a road where he would know every step and turn. A little after Sagi turned 605 he finally left the temple and all of Darnassus. Many of his friends and colleagues believed that he did reach enlightenment and it was telling him where to go. Regardless only a few of them seemed to accept Sagi's choice to go into the world after 300 years of seclusion from it.

For one year Sagi traveled Azeroth alone. In the temple he had a dream, a vision that his time to enter the world had come and that he would see what he was needed for only within the world itself, uncensored. For that reason he immersed himself in the world as much as possible. He saw happiness, sadness, joy, pain, life, and death. To a person living in Azeroth these sights would have been normal, however to Sagi's virgin eyes everything was intensified, every moment had some kind of hidden meaning, and it was for him to decipher it all.

After that year Sagi disappeared again, this time seemingly from all of Azeroth. Out of all he saw the kaldorei could not understand, could not truly grasp, the need of evil when there is good in the world. He had always believed in life, not death and wondered why it was necessary to have both. Sagi hid in the Un'Goro crater where he prayed enlightenment would once again come to him.

That enlightenment came to him in a new religion and new set of beliefs. The Forgotten Shadow was introduced to Sagi, making him walk away from the path of Elune. As he views changed so did his methods, forsaking Elune's light to use instead the power of shadow. The stronger Sagi grew the more arrogant he became, feeling he had some higher destiny. This newfound ego was a divergence from everything Sagi once knew to be true. On the other hand, when Sagi allowed this ego to take control he found his personal power grow. Sagi's new beliefs, those of the Forgotten Shadow, only confirmed the necessity to become stronger until reaching within and unlocking godhood.

Sagi's ego was the shard of divinity that existed deep inside of him, the shadow from which he was born. That ego eventually controlled him, making him plunge further into the darkness. After all, with every increase in strength and every goal achieved Sagi only proved that the Forgotten Shadow was right and his beliefs in Elune were misguided. He drowned himself in the idea that the faiths of Light were weaker than the religions of Shadow until a single important moment. Sagi died, and with that death came the falsifying of his destiny, of his indomitable strength, and of the once undeniable Forgotten Shadow.

When he was later resurrected he was confronted by two things. The first was an inescapable fear of death. He wanted to be stronger so as to never worry again, yet how could he grow? Logic told him that either he was not destined for strength or the Cult of Forgotten Shadow was not the truth. The second was an idea, planted in the back of the mind by his former teacher Cela and one of his enemies Andra. Both mentioned to him a more cyclic view of the world, of shadow cycling into light and light fading back into shadow. Sagi had mixed feelings of this concept and normally refused to think about it. Built within it was the rejection of all he knew. He had already rejected 300 years of Elune worship. To then be asked to reject the Forgotten Shadow was something he could not bring himself to do.

Sagi wandered for a while and as time went own his sense of ambition disappeared. A great deal happened to him until he started to distance himself from the world and much of what he once knew. Now a days he spends much of his time in solitary, simply studying the shadow. For what purpose, he isn't really sure of himself other than to pass the time. He has grown content with watching the world as it goes on from day to day without really taking an active role in its happenings. Still, he is quite sociable and so enjoys sitting in a tavern from time to time, having a glass of moonberry juice while chatting to some stranger that he will most likely never see again.
