Appearance

Roxanne prefers lighter armor such as leather to protect herself with, she isn’t meant to get hit in the first place. She has a dark blue set as common every day wear, but can be seen in clothes just as easily when deemed safe enough to do so. She prefers long boots that go all the way up to her knees but would wear anything that’s comfortable.

Other: Has a small brown leather backpack that she carries around with her - it has several slots and always seems stuffed. She also has a simple short-sword and a gun with a brown ammo pouch, choosing to carry both to protect herself with. When wearing clothing that reveals her stomach, a stomach piercing can be seen.

Personality

Roxanne is very shy at first contact despite being a generally likeable person, she is friendly, outgoing, pays attention to the conversation and the person, but her nervous feelings tend to get to her and make her end up stuttering and shy. If a person comments on her behaviour she’s found to be averting her eyes, embarrassed and generally in a worse emotional struggle then before. All things pass with time however, as the more time she spends with the person the less of a struggle it becomes. High authority figures can really make her nervous (think guards, nobles, officers, etc.) and while she tries to follow their example, she doubts her own capabilities around them. Things she has done plenty of times before can suddenly become hard and difficult when she's being watched by one, making her feel as if they are literally looking right over her shoulder to spot any mistake she makes. However, as time passes one might even find her curious, attentive and social. She seeks to learn something big or small each day, and can often be seen experimenting with all sorts of materials. Roxanne loves working with her hands so much that she finds it hard to sit still unless the conversation is really immersive to her, and when she’s engaged in a project of her choice, she can easily lose herself in the moment.

The material does not matter to her or the activity, as long as it was something she deliberately set her eyes on. Be it cooking, sculpting or working with wood, furs or leathers. She pays great attention to detail and can tinker for hours in a row till she physically starts to feel unwell because of it. When she is without any project for a while or simply doesn't have the time to tinker, she can become quite unhappy. Roxanne always has something on her mind when it comes to repairing, improving or generally inventing things.

Her friendly and social demeanour towards people does not transfer to animals, having grown up with a hunter as father. She's incapable of truly bonding with animals and is not reluctant to kill one when the situation calls for it. All her tinkering has made it so that she can almost use any part of the beast she slays, and strives to not let any go to waste. She strongly dislikes wolves (along with wolf-like creatures) and spiders, big or small.

History

A girl born and raised in Westfall, in a family that lost everything with the fall of Moonbrook. Their home destroyed, their belongings shattered apart from the few things her parents managed to grab before running not eleven years ago. Westfall had always been home of the Fox family, but they never were able to get back on their feet after Moonbrook fell. While they had a home, it was one without tranquillity as Roxanne's parents relation shattered afterwards and her father and mother took it out on each other as the years passed.

Roxanne was meant to fill in what was missing, and for an incredible small time she did. Her mother (Becky) entered a state of depression after giving birth to Roxanne, only resulting in further relationship problems between the two. One dark night life simply became too much for her, and she drowned herself in her own sorrow. Jackson, Roxanne's father couldn't deal with the house and its memories any more and sold most of his belongings; He wanted peace, freedom, and for a while secluded himself with Roxanne from the people. He was too stubborn to accept help and decided to follow his own lifestyle, stepped on his toes, he would decide what was best for Roxanne, and to him, that was a life without all the hassle and most comfort.

Westfall had become plagued with thieves and peasants, unpaid workers that demanded justice. They took over Moonbrook, but by then Roxanne was long gone. Her father had managed to sell the house a year before, only buying the absolute necessities to live of the land. His girl would not become weak, would not become soft by comfort and had to learn the true values in life. He wanted her to learn how to get by and be happy with what she had.

He resorted to hunting the animals of the land, living a rather nomadic life in which everything had a use. Everything had a purpose, and lived for a goal in life; whether it was to be shot and eaten like an animal, or used to make things with, such as wood. Roxanne would never get used to sitting still and leading a slow-paced life, always finding something to play and tinker with. She would learn to never stop trying, no matter what.

Roxanne her education went on about the land, all the materials they could find and how to use it. Some things were admittedly harder to do, and they had nights were they simply were hungry. She never got as tall as she should have been, turning into a rather fragile figure despite labour and hunting. Roxanne would learn how to take a gun apart and put it back together, how to effectively use it and began to practice with it.

She would learn how to use a knife and turn animals to useful beings after being shot when she had the stomach for it. Her feelings for them quickly turned off as she needed them to survive, she needed them for food, clothes and so forth. They sold what they had no direct use for using what little money they made to obtain things they couldn't acquire themselves.

Nomadic as they were, they weren't entirely without friends and Roxanne still often played with other children. She got to show of her skill with the gun a few times, making other kids jealous or simply afraid - It was a good, but simple life. One of the befriended families allowed her occasional use of the stove, allowing her to develop her love for cooking.

As the years went by, Roxanne developed a bigger need for independence. While she loved her father, she just couldn’t stay living like this. She wanted to see the world and felt safe doing so, now that she had developed her abilities more. The still slightly naïve girl went to explore the other regions, and through a chain of events joined Whitehaven. There she would be trained further, taken along on various missions and grew in experience. Her body was deemed to be unfit for a rank and file soldier and she ended up taking an alternative path, developing the skills suitable for a scout and tracker. While she had less time to tinker around for hours like she did beforehand, she managed to get through and developed better skills for repairing armor of various materials.

Cataclysm struck and the house she was once with had ceased to exist. As she travelled back to Westfall, she found out that it was not just the house she had lost around her, but also her last relative. The lands had proven themselves to be too dangerous, and her father had proven himself to be too stubborn. Roxanne found him bleeding at the side of the road and ran up to him. As the man looked up with his bleeding body, he was able to form the faintest of smiles, a last glimmer of happiness before exhaling his last breath.

Grief struck Roxanne, and she sat next to the road for the hours to come. When the initial tears had stopped and her eyes opened again, she examined her father’s corpse and distinguished the wounds to be from mainly claws. Jackson had encountered a wolf pack, and while he had managed to scare them away, he had been unable to stop his bleeding. His left eye had been mauled, his neck and chest been torn open which ultimately proved fatal.

Roxanne spent the rest of the months hunting every single wolf she encountered within Westfall, murdering and skinning entire packs of the beasts. She sold most of the fur and leather and it was only when the befriended townsfolk began to express their concerns for Roxanne’s well-being that she left the region again. She now wanders around, looking for a new cause.

Skills and Abilities

Roxanne is very talented at working with her hands, be it repairing things or making new ones. She is always busy with something and tries to make something nice out of whatever she can get by. Wood, metal, wool, fur, gunpowder, cloth (anything really); She's a real tinkerer. Alongside that she has developed skills with a sword and gun, the latter being her weapon of choice. She is able to track footprints more easily than untrained people, is agile when moving through different terrains, and has a real eye for details.
