A temperate man who abstains from alcohol and overeating. His theology is that of the old school. He still believes the light to be some sort of godlike entity that has a purpose for everyone. This sense in a light-given providence manifests itself in Remliel casting lots when determining courses of action he is unsure of. Due to their involvement in the previous wars, Remliel holds the Dwarves, gnomes, and high elves in great esteem. He is distrustful of the night elves and their secretive ways. He despises the races of the horde with exception to the blood elves who he believes are not yet beyond redemption. He is courteous to the draenei but remains wary of them and their claims about the Naaru and the Light.

History

Remliel Lysander was born on a small farm ouside of Goldshire. As an only child, he was the pride and joy of his parents. A quiet boy, he tended to avoid more rowdy youths on the neighboring farms. As he grew, he wished to be more than a farmer, but was unsure how to even begin to increase his station in life. His father suggested the army and Remliel hesitantly agreed that it was a good option, though he was sure the army would be full of the rowdy people.

A week after his eighteenth birthday, he set out for Stormwind in order to enlist. Along the way, he found a man lying injured by the road. Seeing no one else around, he helped the man up and hobbled along towards Goldshire. By luck, they crossed paths with a man wearing a white robe, a cleric. Remliel watched in awe as the holy man healed the wounds and went continued on his way. Remliel continued on to Goldshire with the healed man who told him of how he had been set upon by bandits and left for dead. Parting with the man at Goldshire, Remliel began asking around as to where he might train in the ways of the cleric. He was pointed in the way of Northshire abbey and there he would spend several years in training.

When the orcs came, Remliel had completed much of his studies and was a capable healer. He spent almost no time on the front lines, instead he was stationed away from the fighting, healing the wounded men brought to him and his fellow clerics. He was terrified when he heard that Stormwind and the surrounding area had fallen, and remained as such for some tine. Relief came when he recieved word from his father that they had escaped and were now refugees in Lorderon. Shortly thereafter, he recieved another letter.

The letter was written by his mother. His father had fallen ill due to the stress of the journey and he was not long for this world, a point his father had failed to address in his letter.

The army was heading for Lordaeron in order to regroup the forces of the alliance and build up an alliance against the orcish horde. Remliel thanked the Light for that and prayed he would make it before his father passed away. He didn't. Remliel arrived two days too late. When he found his mother, she was staring blankly at the floor and rocking back and forth. The death of her husband on top of everything else had been too much. Remliel transferred into a small unit of priests dedicated to helping the refugees and others in the city of Lordaeron. This allowed him to stay with his mother whose condition worsened by the day. She held on to life for another three months. Remliel never ceased hoping and praying for her recovery. In the end though, life seemed to hold no allure for her, and so she slipped away.

The rest of the second war was a blur to Remliel. He spent it in Lordaeron tending to what duties he could find to distract himself with. When the second war drew to a close, Remliel set out on a pilgrimage visiting various religious and historical sights trying to to clear his soul. Over time he regained his peace of mind and returned to the rebuilt Northshire Abby to continue his studies and his priestly duties. When the third war broke out, Remliel remained in Stormwind, not wishing to go through the trials of war once more nor to leave his homeland. If it was to be razed to the ground again, he wished to be there to protect it this time. That never happened, and Remliel would later question his motives and accuse himself of cowardice. In time, he once again regained his peace of mind.

Currently, the aged priest is unsure of what to do with himself and in times of uncertainty casts lots to determine his next course of action.
