Personality

Raelthorne has always been known for his rebellious nature. After gaining his free will, he has been yearning to retain his humanity back. He misses the warmth of a woman, or the sting of a hard drink. Because of this, he likes to 'pretend' he is alive, laughing, sighing, eating and drinking are parts of his daily routine.

He is jealous of those still living because he died at a young age and was unable to experience many of the things that makes life so good. This has left him curious, and he wishes to try and get even a small taste of that 'hapiness'. However, this often leaves him feeling disappointed.

Raelthorne's obvious reluctance towards following the Ebon Blade is only a quality that he has kept with him during life. He is lazy and dislikes those with rank. However, he knows that if he does not follow the Ebon Blade, he will be killed. So he follows them blindly.

History

Raelthorne is the older twin brother of Relin, and was raised in a very plain family. His father, being a carpenter, had to leave the house very often and Raelthorne would occasionally persuade his brother to play tricks in and around the house.

After his mother was killed a few weeks after their fifteenth birthday, Raelthorne was forever changed. His mother's killer, a criminal leader, was tried and proven innocent. Enraged, Raelthorne and Relin agreed to put a stop to evil by becoming Paladin. Together, they trained to become swordsmen and skilled fighters before applying for the Knights of the Silver Hand. Whereas Relin became more of the disciplined fighter, Raelthorne did not follow specific stances or movements, he only ‘reacted' to attacks, using his speed and reaction time to attack.

Their training and practice paid off, they became members of the Silver Hand and worked for some years, doing work as knights. However, Raelthorne was always known to be a little reluctant and lazy to do chores such as ‘guard duty‘. Despite having several disputes and ‘petty arguments' with his fellow paladin, he had strictly followed the code.

They were young and inexperienced. They occasionally broke off on their own to fight the undead with other knights. Unfortunately, their stupidity brought them to a fearsome group of undead who defeated them easily. Relin pulled Raelthorne, at the brink of death, out of the fray and escaped. They were not able to travel far. Raelthorne's wounds were too deep, and Relin could not muster enough energy to heal either of them. Raelthorne was carried by his brother quite a long distance until he lost too much energy. At this point, Raelthorne did what he could to give his brother as much healing as he could, before falling unconscious and eventually, dying.

Time passes, and Raelthorne wakes up as a newly formed Death Knight of the Scourge. He mindlessly fell into the Lich King's grasp. Though he had no choice but to follow the Lich King's orders, the atrocities that he committed were permanently scarred into his mind.

Soon enough, Raelthorne found himself part of the battle of Lights Hope Chapel, and he was freed. Thankful, he has joined the Knights of the Ebon Blade for reclaiming his free will. However, he finds himself missing his life as a living human being. Despite his reluctance to work with the Ebon Blade, he knows that if he does not follow their orders he will be killed. He now works secretly to find a way to restore his life.
