Personality
Raelin is a calm elf whose mind drifts very easily. He always keeps an eye on his surroundings and often appears to be calculating something, mostly random routes or mind maps that help him keep his mind clear, as he doesn't like being surrounded by many people at once. He doesn't have a love for fel magic, as he believes it clouds the mind and it may lead to him getting distracted when in a combat situation, but he will at times give in to his blood elf desires.
History
Ray grew up in Silvermoon as most, and spent the majority of his childhood playing in the forests outside the city. His father, Relvin, who had a love for spilling blood in combat, always told Raelin that red is the colour of victory, and when Raelin came to the age of 110, old enough to fight alongside his father against the scourge, Relvin gave his son a red cape that he himself used to wear, saying that as long as he wore it, it would make him victorious.
Relvin died the day the Sunwell was destroyed; mutilated by undead soldiers, but Raelin had been away from Silvermoon, fighting against undead at the borders of Eversong Woods. After the worst of the battles were over, Raelin returned to Silvermoon to give his father a proper funeral. Learning of the Sunwell's destruction made Raelin's hatred for the undead grow to new heights, and he left his father's teachings, fighting as a savage against his enemies, aimlessly seeking out things to kill, even if not undead creatures.
A year after Relvin's death, Raelin's childhood friend, Ulrien came to Raelin's aid, saving him from his blind rampages and telling him that the past had to be avenged with skill and determination instead of rage.
Ulrien also told Raelin of a small mercenary group called Silver's Rangers - A clan who took jobs as bounty hunters and spies, and invited Raelin to join the clan.
After three years of serving with the rangers, the group one day recieved word of a traitor in Silvermoon, who was making deals with bandits outside the blood elf borders. The group traveled south to find the traitor, who was staying in a hut in Silverpine Forest. The rangers confronted the traitor, Elian Sungazer, but were ambushed by bandits who Elian had paid for protection.
Most of the rangers were killed, apart from Raelin and four others, who fled the battle to return to their base.
Two more remaining rangers were killed by wolves, who were drawn by the blood from their wounds, and Raelin finally left the forest with Ulrien, and the two headed back toward Silvermoon. Another ambush arrived as Elian and his men took a shortcut through the forest, and Raelin and Ulrien were forced to fight once more. Luckily, only a few men were standing between the rangers and their escape, and the bandits were quickly disposed of.
Elian, wounded and weak, fell to his knees and begged for mercy. Raelin approached him and cut off a large piece of red cloth that Elian's robes were made of, and said to him, "Red is the colour of victory," after which he forced his blade into Elian's chest, finally causing his death. Raelin and Ulrien returned to Silvermoon, but left the Rangers' base to become a memory, as the group of mercenaries would never again be the same without the members it had lost. Now Raelin uses his learnt skills to aid any of his fellow elves, and help young, aspiring warriors to learn the ways he was taught by his father - the ways of his childhood hero and honourable mentor.
