Personality

Alignment: Lawful Good

Pulline can be described as tolerable at best and obnoxious at worst. Ever the enthusiastic warrior, Pulline hardly ever speaks in a low, soft tone, and she often carries herself with militaristic pride even when among civilian folk. Her speech is perpetually commandeering and tense, often peppered with similes and metaphors to at times absurd levels. She rarely has a nice word to say about others, at least in an upfront sense. She is hardened and tough, intolerable of others who don't take gnomes seriously, and certainly harsh and stern around "soft and squishy daisy-paisy pansies". Her hardened demeanor has just about left her without any openness for a close and comforting relationship.

Despite lacking any real friends, Pulline nevertheless often finds herself a motherly figure to her more vulnerable allies, often using tough love to strengthen and encourage them. Absolutely loyal to Gnomeregan, to High Tinker Mekkatorque, and above all the Alliance, Pulline will fight the world to defend her people and their honor and justice. She an unstoppable force against those who trample on her people, and she will not stop until justice is had.

History

Long before the fated day of Gnomeregan's fall was a quieter and meeker Pulline Emberwrench. Her family name came from her mother, who was so tough against heat that she was able to endure high temperatures while she tinkered close to the ovens and kilns. Hopeful to earn her own surname, Pulline worked hard to obtain knowledge and expertise beyond typical expectations of other gnomes. She hoped to gain respect and fame among her people, though she had no intentions to be anywhere near the ingenious that is the reverent High Tinker Gelbin Mekkatorque and his advisor, Mekgineer Thermaplugg.

Her true calling, however, came upon the day the gnomes allied themselves with the Alliance of Lordaeron. Enthusiastic and eager to serve her people and help the Alliance against the Horde, Pulline worked her way for a position within the Alliance Army. It's by this time she invented her own machine, which she dubbed "The Shockerblasmatron": it is a specialized noise machine that bellowed not only very loud booming noise, but it also produces a disorienting effect through its heavily vibrating bass. During this Second War, Pulline earned the surname she worked so long for, which is simply the shortened "Shockblast". Pulline then contributed to the wars by assisting in warefare using the Shockerblasmatron to disorient intended Horde forces, though it wasn't particularly popular or widely used by the more sensitively-hearing humans and dwarves. Nevertheless, Pulline assisted in the wars, and after seeing the battles at the frontlines, the once meek and mild gnome swore to train herself to combat using the Shockerblasmatron herself. Soon, she saw herself fighting alongside her fellow gnomes and dwarven brethren in the field. Eventually she earned not just her surname but several ranks, ultimately attaining the rank of Corporal in Mekkatorque's army. By the end of the Second War, Pulline celebrated with the Alliance, having herself avowed to its causes as well as that of the gnomes'.

Such a celebration of freedom did not last forever. When the Third War rolled around, Pulline was ready to fight for the Alliance once more... but the gnomes had to withdraw. Troggs emerged from the depths of their home, and though efforts were made to drive them out, the radiation bomb released by Mekkatorque on Thermaplugg's advice killed more gnomes than it did for troggs. Pulline lost most of her family fleeing the radiation blasts. and very few of her squad were left behind fighting troggs. As the gnomes settleed with defeated in a formed Tinker Town in Ironforge, Pulline mostly spent her time right after drowning her sorrows in drink and other destructive behavior in her guilt.

The years have passed. As the war continues to plague Azeroth once more, Pulline spent days mostly going into pubs and taverns in Ironforge. One day, the call to battle reach the gnomes and dwarves to fight in the crusade against the Burning Legion in Outland. Deciding not to idle in her despair anymore, Pulline returned to duty and had herself stationed in Honor Hold, where she, once again, fought alongside dwarves and gnomes alike. Honor, pride, and justice swelled inside of her as she assisted in pushing the Legion back, and once more, Pulline began having faith in herself and her people. Her rank rose to Sergeant after the Legion war and about the beginning of the Northrend campaign, where Pulline was stationed at Valguarde to assist incoming Alliance soldiers into the Howling Fjord and preparing into battle. Despite Pulline never getting anywhere close to Icecrown Citadel, Pulline served her time well by defending Valgarde against the hostiles of the Fjord as well as the encamping Horde.

Once the Lich King was defeated, Pulline returned "home" to Tinker Town, though 'home' isn't what she wanted-- she wanted the glorious halls of Gnomeregan to surround her once more, to be surrounded by the giant gears and wheels that the gnomes worked so hard to build. As to not simply idle, Pulline brought herself back to the Gnomeregan Army for any news on attempts to get Gnomeregan back. Surely, there is--The High Tinker Mekkatorque has drafted himself plans for what is call "Operation: Gnomeregan". As soon as the announcement was made, Pulline jumped on board without being asked at all. She is then assigned to train and command troops, gnomes and non-gnomes, into the battles against the troggs and Thermaplugg's forces.

The Operation was not easy at all. Even as early as scouting the mountain for signs of radiation resulted in fatal casualties. Pulline worked in the courage within herself and her troops to stay strong against all odds. She personally assisted in the offenses against Thermaplugg's men in the surface segments of the city, helping in the securing of the air field and command post. However, as soon as the Gnomeregan Army made its way into the depths of the tunnels itself, their efforts were thwarted--Thermaplugg prepared a giant radiation bomb that forced Mekkatorque's forces back. Despite this, all is not entirely lost--the surface of Gnomeregan is secured by Mekkatorque, and Pulline couldn't be any happier.

Pulline settles herself in the command post, where she is provided temporary reprieve until Mekkatorque calls for his army once more into battle. Deciding to get involved with the Alliance, Pulline goes about in Alliance cities to get in touch with her fellow soldiers. Though the war was not won, hope still lies in the fiery gnome. As the Alliance did not give up on the gnomes, the gnomes will not give up on the Alliance. And Pulline is surely the same.

Special Abilities

Pulline strikes hard and fast, using her size to her advantage when facing far bigger opponents. Should the foolish and dimwitted try to 'punt' her, they'd have to prepare for at least a broken toe or shin--Pulline often wears very heavy plate armor to battle, and if she is not equipped with a standard sword, it's a gnomish hacksaw, often aimed at the more delicate regions of the legs such as the ankles and knees. Often times, Pulline would fight to disable her opponents by aiming at those legs, causing them to fall before she'd strike for the head or neck.

Whenever she could, Pulline would enter battle while armed with the Shockblastmatron, her noise machine and invention that earned her surname. The machine has a nozzle that directs the noise forward, and it uses a bellowing clamor accompanied by disorienting bass that may catch the opponents' natural rhythms off guard. Pulline mainly uses this when facing more than one enemy of once, and the Shockblastmatron is her own form of crowd control.
