Other: Her horns are a black shade, and very tiny. They are well taken care of, usually sharpened to a point. Her body is rather light and considerably less muscular than the average Tauren. She has a number of scars on her right leg. When her right leg is stressed too much (Extended running, climbing) she will begin to limp.

Personality

Paota is a rather caring individual. She will often go out of her way to heal or otherwise help absolute strangers. One will often find her doing chores for fellow Tribesmen that they themselves do not wish to do. Seeing people in stress often worries her and she will attempt to help them overcome whatever is bothering them.

She has always believed that her parents would have rathered her become a Brave or Hunter of the tribe instead of a Shaman. This belief often causes her to doubt herself and have self-esteem issues. She does not believe herself to be an asset in combat also, often delegating herself to the role of a healer.

Her training as a Shaman has taught her to be a very humble person. Maybe too humble. She is easily overpowered in a conversation, backing down swiftly or trying to find a way to appease whomever she might be arguing with. She is polite to strangers unless they give her a reason to dislike them.

She cares little for the conflict between the Horde and Alliance. Though she knows that many Alliance members will see her as an enemy, she will always wait for another to show hostility before fighting. She's too busy worrying about the Earthmother to worry about the conflict between the two factions.

History

Paota was born a calf in the Blackaxe Tribe to two fierce Tauren warriors. As such, it was expected that she herself would follow in their footsteps. Many believed she would become a might fighter herself, perhaps even rising to the honored status of a Brave. And for a long time it seemed she would grow to be a strong, healthy Tauren. However as time passed it was discovered that Paota had very weak lungs that were easily stressed. While this was not life threatening, it certainly made physical tasks harder on her than it would others. This crushed anyone's hopes of her becoming a warrior. Her parents were disappointed, but they hid it well. It would be a long time before Paota caught wind of her mother and father's shame.

She spent her time as a child playing amongst the other calfs. She would forage with the other cows, chat about the bulls, generally childish things. But due to her weak lungs she would never participate in any activities that required her to exert herself. Her Elders tried to assist her in keeping in shape. And because of their efforts, she did stay in decent shape. Still, she was the weakest of the calves she grew with.

As Paota grew older, she found herself becoming more and more interested in the ways of the Shaman. Eventually curiosity got the better of her and she asked an Elder Shaman to teach her to become one. This Elder was named 'Dregor', and he agreed to teach her away from civilization. For years she trained under this Elder and was isolated from the rest of the world. He taught her the ways of the Shaman, how to be humble to spirits, and how to speak with them. Paota found his lessons fascinating. The idea that everything that lived was connected to these Spirits and therefore connected to the Earthmother was enlightening.

Unfortunately for Paota, no one lived forever. Dregor would die of old age one day after teaching Paota for so long. She mourned for him for days before eventually leaving to go back to the only other Shu'Halo she knew. These Shu'Halo were the Tauren in the Blackaxe Tribe. She returned to be told that her parents had been killed in a battle against the Centaur some time after she had left. This news devastated her. She cried for the loss of her parents for many days and nights, never truly recovering from the event. It tore a hole in her spirit that she feels can never be closed.

She stayed with the Blackaxe Tribe until it eventually became the Lakota Arikara. After that event, she chose to join the Lakota, serving as a Shaman. Quite some time passed before she somehow managed to catch the eye of the Lakota's Chieftan, Aki. Through a series of innocent mistakes, the two did conceive a child, and eventually came to accept the fact that they were to be mates.

When Paota gave birth to the calf, it turned out the child was female. She named the girl 'Nechi', which roughly translates to 'Peace' in common, Paota is now a happy mother, who occasionally leaves Nechi with her grandmother Tadita so she herself may travel alone for short periods of time.
