Personality

Omar is very easy-going, at least for a paladin. He is hard to anger and easy to please, enjoying nothing more than a good joke or an interesting story. He believes in the Light, and in the good of mankind as a whole and takes his calling as a paladin quite seriously, but is not above using humor both to amuse friends and disarm opponents verbally. While not particularly abrasive towards other races, he does mistrust the horde as any human would. (Having fought the orcs in the second war, he associates many bad memories with their presence)

History

Growing up in Westfall to a family of experienced farmhands ensured Omar plenty of hard, thankless work throughout his youth, leaving little time for school and less for play. Perhaps this was what caused the young man to develop such a keen sense for playing pranks on his peers and elders, never shying away from an opportunity to inject some laughter into any situation he found himself in.

Omar became notorious for his mischievous childhood exploits, such as letting loose a wild boar piglet during the Harvest Festival barn dance as well as getting to know many of the farmer's daughters too close for the comfort of their parents. It was clear by end of his teenage years that such a small county could not hold someone so eager for adventure, and those who knew him figured that Omar would go on to join the army, as many other young adults from the surrounding farms had already done.

Around the time of his twentieth birthday however, his parents announced that through their persistent saving through most of his childhood, they had acquired sums large enough to afford their son the best education money could offer, in the grand city of Lordaeron. Although Omar protested, he found it hard to argue against his parents' wishes, and soon he found himself in a bustling city far removed from the confines of his meager upbringing.

Taking to his studies with equal amounts of diligence and boredom, he proved himself a capable, if somewhat disinterested pupil, and many years were spent learning history, etiquette and fencing on the road to knighthood. Only three months after Omar had earned this honor, Archbishop Alonsus Faol and his clerics arrived to Lordaeron with the intent of reshaping the Silver Hand through the recruitment of combat-hardened knights and soldiers willing to learn the ways of the Light. Believing this event to be a less than subtle hint by the powers that be, Omar pledged himself to the Silver Hand as one of many new initiates.

Although his simple upbringing became a frequent hindrance for him, it was also a source of inspiration to succeed despite of it, and he took to his new-found purpose as a paladin with the utmost fervency. Finding both mentors and role models among those strong-willed leaders of the order, Omar tried to face all obstacles with the same humorous attitude of his youth; though not without adopting some of the mannerisms of those he looked up to among the knights.

It was also during the years of initiation that his strong black hair had begun turning silvery white, something which quickly became a source of much amusement to his peers. When the clerics assured him that the cause was merely an inconsequential hereditary disease, he began instead to display it proudly as a badge of honor, feeling a tiny sense of kinship to the eldest among the clergy who had long ago earned their silver stripes through natural means, and who were well-respected for the wisdom and insight their age had granted them.

Although he suffered a minor back injury during his trials, he completed his initiation successfully, and stayed with the Silver Hand through some of the most violent engagements of the Second War. Having earned the rank of full-fledged paladin knight on the fields of battle, he served in the bulk force of Anduin Lothar's paladins at the monumental siege of Blackrock. While not witnessing his lord's death at the hands of Orgrim Doomhammer, he and his comrades rallied on the behest of General Turalyon who led his brethren to final victory over the green tide.

After the celebrated return to Stratholme, he enjoyed the brief years of peace as a temple guard to the Alonsus Chapel, before being called back in the service to combat the undead invaders alongside his fellow warriors in faith. After the destruction of Lordaeron and the decimation of the Silver Hand, he travelled homewards to the Eastern Kingdoms among the refugees seeking safety in Stormwind, the last capital of humanity.
