Official Timeline

This is the official timeline for the server. As a result of there being inconsistencies and contradictions with official Warcraft sources, we have decided to create and abide by our own timeline. For more information and to see the thread regarding this, take a look here.

• -25,000 (25,030 years ago) - The Draenei leave their homeworld of Argus.
• -10,000 (10,030 years ago) - War of the Ancients.
  • The Watchers are formed to look after Illidan's prison, with Maiev Shadowsong becoming the first Warden.

• -9,000 (9,030 years ago) - The World Tree Nordrassil is made and the War of the Satyr occurs. Druids of the Scythe are banished to the Emerald Dream.
• -7,300 (7,330 years ago) - The Highborne are exiled.
• -6,800 (6,830 years ago) - Quel'Thalas is founded.
• -2,800 (2,830 years ago) - The Troll Wars. /
  • The first 100 Humans to be trained in magic are taught by the High Elves. /
  • First collectives of High Elf warriors and hunters gather to help fight the Troll threat.

• -2,700 (2,730 years ago) - First Guardian is appointed.
• -2,500 (2,530 years ago) - Ironforge is founded.
• -1,200 (1,230 years ago) - Seven Kingdoms of humanity (Arathor/Stromgarde, Alterac, Azeroth/Stormwind, Dalaran, Gilneas, Kul Tiras, Lordaeron) are founded.
• -930 (960 years ago) - The Draenei ship lands on Draenor. /
  • The spirits of the Orc ancestors begin communing with the Naaru K'ure, and the Orcs themselves revere the giant spacecraft, which they name Oshu'gun, or "Mountain of Spirits", as a holy place.
  • Hunting is first embraced by the Draenei as they search the land for food.
  • Shattrath is built in Terokkar Forest as the capital city for the Draenei, while The Temple of Karabor is built in Shadowmoon Valley as a sanctuary for the prophet Velen.
  • Orcs and Draenei enter into a cordial, trade-based relationship. /

• -925 (955 years ago) - War of the Shifting Sands
  • Southwind Village in Silithus is destroyed.

• -823 (853 years ago) - Aegwynn clashes with Sargeras' avatar.
• -500 (530 years ago) - Official formation of the Farstriders.
• -230 (260 years ago) - War of Three Hammers.
  • Grim Batol is left uninhabitable, so the Wildhammer Dwarves build Aerie Peak in the Hinterlands.

• -200 (230 years ago) - First recorded contact between Gnomes and Dwarves. /
  • Dwarves had only recently discovered gunpowder.
  • Gnomeregan is built.

• -10 (40 years ago) - The Stormwind Assassins (later SI:7) is formed.
• -5 (35 years ago) - Rise of the Horde.
  • Blackhand is made Warchief.
  • Shadow Council is formed.
  • Draenei slaughter begins /
  • The Temple of Karabor is conquered and becomes the Black Temple, a headquarters for the Shadow Council. /

• -1 (31 years ago) - Orc chieftains drink demon blood. Sacking of Shattrath. /
  • Draenei flee to Zangarmarsh, with many remaining behind to either defend Shattrath or in a worst-case scenario die in order give the Orcs the illusion of a total victory to cover the escape. Families, including children, were among those that stayed behind and gave up their lives.
  • Many of the Draenei that somehow survived the sack of Shattrath were exposed to high amounts of fel energy, causing them to mutate into what would become known as the Krokul, or Broken.
  • Nobundo lost his connection to the Light during the sack. So the process of him becoming a Broken would have started now, and within a year or two he would have become the first Draenei Shaman.

• 0 (30 years ago) - Dark Portal is made. First War. /
  • Moonbrook, Goldshire, Stormwind, and Northshire all fall to the Horde. The Redridge Mountains fall largely to the Blackrock Orcs. /
  • The Brotherhood of the Horse, also known as the Knights of Azeroth, are largely decimated in the invasion.
  • Goblins begin building their trade empire.
  • The Frostwolf Clan flees through the Dark Portal and settle in the Alterac Mountains.
  • At the end of the war, Orgrim Doomhammer challenges and kills Blackhand for the title of Warchief, subsequently slaughtering the Shadow Council.

• 3 (27 years ago) - Knights of the Silver Hand founded in Stratholme.
  • Uther the Lightbringer becomes the first Human Paladin.

• 6 (24 years ago) - Second War. Internment camps are made. /
  • Humans, Ironforge and Wildhammer Dwarves, Gnomes, and High Elves form the Alliance of Lordaeron, the predecessor for the modern-day Alliance. ///
  • Stratholme is destroyed during the war, but rebuilt shortly afterwards.
  • Moonbrook, Goldshire, Stormwind, and Northshire begin rebuilding after the war.
  • Greymane Wall is built not long after, separating Gilneas from the rest of the world.
  • Kul Tiras leaves the Alliance after the war.
  • Alterac is left in ruins after unresolved disputes over leadership. The remaining nobles resort to thievery and form the Syndicate, later basing themselves in Durnholde Keep after the liberation of the internment camps.
  • The technology feud between Gnomes and Goblins begins, as Gnomes provide tech for the Alliance and Goblins for the Horde.

• 8 (22 years ago) - Invasion of Draenor.
  • The Alliance Expedition ventures into Outland, becoming stranded there after destroying the Dark Portal.

• 10 (20 years ago) - Alexstrasza is freed from the Dragonmaw clan.
• 14 (16 years ago) - Completion of Stormwind.
  • After the completion of Stormwind, the unpaid Stonemason's Guild is kicked out of the city, shortly thereafter forming the Defias Brotherhood under Edwin Van Cleef. Taking over Moonbrook, the People's Militia is formed to combat the threat.

• 18 (12 years ago) - Thrall frees the orcs from the internment camps.
• 19 (11 years ago) - Thrall and Tirion rescue Eitrigg from execution. /
• 20 (10 years ago) - Reign of Chaos. Third war begins. //////
  • Thrall and his Orc brethren travel across the sea to Kalimdor. Along the way, they encounter the Darkspear Trolls, rescuing them from both the Kul Tiras navy as well as the combined forces of the Murlocs and Naga. Upon landing in Kalimdor, the Trolls settle in the Echo Isles, and the Warsong Clan begin their lumber work in the Northern Barrens/Southern Ashenvale. Thrall would seek out and help rescue the Tauren from the wrath of the Centaur. The Orcs, Trolls, and Tauren for the foundation of the New Horde. //
  • Plague hits Stratholme. Arthas purges almost all of its inhabitants. The Scourge eventually take control of the city. Andorhal also falls during this time.
  • Dalaran is destroyed by Archimonde. In the aftermath of the war, the city starts to be rebuilt, and eventually moved to its current position above Crystalsong Forest in Northrend.
  • Stromgarde is invaded by the Syndicate, Boulderfist Ogres, and Witherbark Trolls.
  • Gnomeregan is invaded by Troggs, which combined with the ill-advised venting of radioactive waste tanks wipes out eighty percent of the Gnomish population and keeps the Gnomes significantly absent from the Third War. The survivors resettle at Ironforge in Tinkertown.
  • Tranquillien, Silvermoon City, and all of Quel'Thalas along what is now the Dead Scar fall as the Sunwell is corrupted and destroyed by Arthas, slaughtering ninety percent of the high elf population. Kael'thas returns.
  • The Druids are reawakened by Malfurion Stormrage. At the Battle of Mount Hyjal, Archimonde is defeated and the World Tree is destroyed.
  • The Night Elves maintain their relationship with the Alliance after the end of the war.

• 21 (9 years ago) - Frozen Throne. Arthas becomes Lich King.
  • In the aftermath of the death of Uther the Lightbringer, the Scarlet Crusade is formed.
  • The second World Tree, Teldrassil, is created by Fandral Staghelm.
  • The Night elves commemorate their first female druid and male priest with a pair of statues.
  • Blood elves split from the Alliance. Lady Liadrin becomes the first Blood Knight.
  • The cities of Orgrimmar and Thunder Bluff are founded in Kalimdor. /
  • Zalazane overtakes the Echo Isles, forcing the rest of the Darkspear to settle in Sen'jin Village on the coast of Durotar.
  • The Shattered Hand Clan in Orgrimmar become the new Horde's guild of rogues and assassins.
  • The Human city of Theramore is founded by Jaina Proudmoore in Eastern Kalimdor.
  • Undercity is founded under the ruins of Lordaeron.
  • The Scythe of Elune comes to Southern Elwynn Forest. After becomeing overrun by Worgen and other demonic threats the region becomes known as Duskwood, with the town of Grand Hamlet becoming Darkshire.
  • Explorers' League is founded.
  • The Northgate Rebellion sets off the Gilnean Civil War.

• 23 (7 years ago) - Sunwell Trilogy begins.
  • Silvermoon City is rebuilt.

• 24 (6 years ago) - Cycle of Hatred. Tensions between Alliance and Horde rise again.
  • The Forsaken join the Horde at the behest of the Tauren, primarily Hamuul Runetotem and later Magatha Grimtotem.

• 25 (5 years ago) - World of Warcraft begins.
  • Storming of Tempest Keep. The Exodar crash lands on Azuremyst Isles near the end of the year. After meeting the Night Elves and hearing their tales of the Alliance, the Draenei are inspired to pledge their allegiance. /
  • The Argent Dawn is formed.
  • The Scourge begin training Death Knights in Acherus for an assault on the Scarlet Enclave.

• 26 (4 years ago) - Burning Crusade. /
  • Blood Elves join the Horde.
  • The Aldor and the Scryers are formed in the remnants of Shattrath thanks to the Sha'tar, which subsequently leads to the formation of the Shattered Sun Offensive. /
  • The Sunwell is restored.

• 27 (3 years ago) - Wrath of the Lich King.
  • 3rd Generation (playable) Death Knights lead to the fall of the Scarlet Enclave, and are later freed of the Lich King's influence at Light's Hope Chapel.
  • The Argent Dawn and the Knights of the Silver Hand merge to form the Argent Crusade.

• 29 - Much of the WOTLK RP took place during this year.

• 30 - The Shattering. Cataclysm begins. CoTH Present Day.
  • Gilneas city falls completely to the Worgen curse. The civil war ends, and soon after, the war against the Forsaken begins.
