Personality

Octatine is quiet, soft-spoken and at all times obedient. Being blind in her life as well as death has taught her that she must rely on others and as such, must show respect and humility to those kind enough to aid her. However, she is also extremely intelligent, manipulative, and crafty; has the gift of occasional farsight (usually when asleep, though she can only divine trivial matters and "prophetic dreams" are few and far between), though in death her gift has weakened considerably (probably because she never tires and as such sleeps only for pleasure).

Her opinions on the Horde are neutral enough, like most Forsaken, she has her own agenda. She rarely forms meaningful bonds other than for her own gain; as she doesn't feel it necessary to form emotional attachments any longer. Instead, she focuses on retaining her connection to the Light, which she feels may forsake her because of her condition.

History

Margaret Nealy was born in a small village in the Kingdom of Lordaeron to a destitute farming family. Her parents, consumed with despair over finding their child blind and unable to work the fields and help run the household; abandoned their baby girl on the steps of a church. The resident friar, Sebastian Nealy, took the child in; raising her himself. Margaret was not necessarily given a sheltered life, from the moment she could understand words she knew that this man who kept her and fed and clothed her was not her father; though she loved him just as deeply.

Growing up in a church, Margaret gained a close bond with the Light, and worked in place of an Altar Boy until she was of age. It was during this time Margaret had her first dream. Something simple, nothing more. She dreamed a group of local hunters had hit an underground spring while tracking. The next morning, shortly after Margaret mused aloud about the dream to her adoptive father, a group of villagers rushed into the church, announcing that a group of huntsmen had discovered a spring with which the local farmers could finally expand their fields. Sebastian immediately recognized the child's "gift", and secretly began spreading the word of his adoptive daughter's "prophetic dreams", charging the villagers money in exchange for the knowledge they may or may not have held. However, Margaret felt revolted and betrayed at being such an object for her adoptive father's greed. Though the dreams were few and far between and never showed more than trivial events, some rumors had gone around the girl's neck of the woods. Sebastian grew steadily more manipulative and harsh towards his adoptive daughter, who seemingly once brought such joy. Finally, one day a man appeared at the church from far across the kingdom, and offered the now teen-aged Nealy a chance to escape.

The man, whose name is forever lost, took Margaret from the town and far away to the city of Stratholme. Margaret's simple country life was nearly shattered and suffocated in so big a city, and her dreams nearly ceased altogether. There grew rumors of the dead rising now, and more and more people poured into the city seeking shelter. Having secured a job at the local church, Margaret began to learn the priest's arts, and aided the incoming refugees. Though she could not necessarily stitch a wound or read a scripture to lift spirits on account of being blind, she did aid by her inspiring presence and her hard-pressed enthusiasm which lifted the spirits of those around her. However, it was not to last. The refugees became thicker and thicker, and soon there was a great and terrible plague on the very doorstep of Stratholme. Brought in by contaminated food sources, the very citizens of the city began to quickly grow ill and die; only to rise from their deaths as unnatural, twisted shadows of themselves. Margaret's church became a safehold against the illness for a small measure of time , the local priests (including Margaret) holding back the enemy and attempting to mend the sick and wounded, the sickness of many of their own finally overcame them. Arthas Menethil and his Knights arrived in the city, but only to slaughter and purge the city of both the infected and the lost. As is documented, almost none survived the introduction of the plague and the young prince's reckless purge, and Stratholme became a city of death.

Margaret remembers nearly nothing of the events that ocurred before or during the Forsaken break from the Scourge. However, she did survive in her undeath and was granted her free will. On rare occasion, when Margaret finds the joy of sleep, she still divines small occurrences. For the most part, she works as a Fortune Teller (with moderate to little success).
