Skills and Abilities

Nirle dabbles heavily in engineering and minorly in Fel (Formerly arcane), though the engineering does tend to be more focused towards ballistics. His knowledge of this allows him to subtly change properties within his creations for a specific situation.

-General technomage abilities

-Due to a genetic defect that has presented itself later in life, he will randomly experience what feels like a jolt of electricity in his heart. This prevents him from doing overly strenuous activities such as running for long periods of time.

Appearance

Usually appears in a bright-colored fur robe adorned with all manner of technological device.

Other: On his left hip is an ornate revolver and a bolt action rifle is slung across his back.

Personality

Nirle has two layers to his personality, one for strangers and one for friends. On the outside he appears to be uppity, arrogant, adventurous, and this is usually the attitude he puts on for complete strangers, the opposing factions, and just generally unpleasant people. To his friends Nirle is relaxed, caring, and more than willing to fight for them. The former comes from experience that the world is a harsh place, and that persona is the best way to survive.

History

Nirle was born in Gnomeregan to his parents Mr. and Mrs. Shotshell, alchemists that invented a deadly self-contained cartridge used in artillery cannons. His childhood was fairly ordinary, up until the trogg invasion Nirle worked with his parents as private contractors supplying the gnomish and dwarven military with a wide array of munitions.

The trogg invasion dashed his hopes of living a peaceful life in the gnomish capital, still grief stricken over the loss of his mom, Nirle and his father went to Ironforge along with the rest of the exiles where they cranked out ordinance around the clock to make up for the lack of a third person. In the evening hours, he made his way to the residence of a family friend in the Mage Ward to study the arcane.

Time moved on and his studies progressed well. His gnomish brain could not focus on a single topic though, so he began looking for patterns in the way that science and the mystical work. Eventually he managed to find a suitable use. Mana crystals are packed into a cartridge and actively enchanted by means of a firing pin made of arcanite(that has subsequently been imbued with a timing property to be tuned by the technomagi that deploy it). This results in an effect that can vary from a shotgun-like blast to an airburst of miniature arcane explosions.

After the Third War ended Nirle left home to travel the world, simply looking for the next fun thing to do. He resides in Booty Bay but spends most of his time in Northrend researching the arcane properties of different substances and their effect on magical potency in a freezing environment. During his time there, he worked mostly with the mechanics of the Argent Crusade where he eventually met Lucius Solheim. Nirle liked the man's ideas regarding a guiding hand for warlocks and eventually started to research the subject matter quite a bit, eventually borrowing beginner books for practitioners of fel arts. It was roughly ten months after this that Mr. Solheim passed away, so Nirle returned to Ironforge to continue his work as an armor technician and assist his parents in taking care of many younger siblings.
