Personality: Naveria is someone who is hard to peg. Being involved in Elven politics for centuries she's someone who changes faces in the blink of an eye. She usually seems stern and somewhat distant. However she has no qualms with voicing her opinion. Belonging to the higher strata of Sin'dorei society she has an arrogant air about her, much like other Sin'dorei, and can be very patronising. She is very ambitious in her own way, and very determined when it comes to reaching her goals. Her goals include attaining power for both herself and her family. However she doesn't aspire leadership. Deep inside she's actually afraid of being in charge. Instead she prefers to pull strings and aid the house in a more indirect way. When in charge she can be ruthless and uncompromising. However, there is an other side to her. Amongst her kin she can be friendly, caring and unquestionably loyal. She is also a wise and rational person, rarely letting emotions get in her way, including compassion, which make her even more ruthless.

History: Naveria as born a long time ago as eldest spouse of the Novalight family. Much like her peers, she was spoiled and usually got anything she wanted. By nature she only wanted more. As a child she got everything she wanted. However when she grew older things would change. Being the eldest spouse came with responsibilities, she was to become the next Nova and as such much was expected from her. Her every move was watched and tested by her elders. Much was expected from her. As much as she liked standing in the spotlight, she eventually grew weary of all the attention. Her life was a demanding one.

Much to her parents satisfaction she excelled in school. Of course she didn't study with her peers in a classroom, instead she had the best private teachers money could buy. She was taught history, language, mathematics but above all politics. She was drilled to be loyal to her house, uncompromising when it comes to gaining power. Whenever she excelled she was rewarded with presents, but when she failed she was reprimanded or even punished. In the end she had everything a child could possibly want except one thing: time for herself. Her youth was uncompromising and shaped her personality accordingly.

She was happy when she had discovered her magical aptitude in the teenage (well, in elven terms) years. This meant she was to study at the arcane academy in Silvermoon and some relief from her parents ambition. Her parents however were even happier. Having magical spouse is the greatest blessing parents could wish for. If she excelled she could become a magister, and attain high status and power for her house. And her parents would make sure she would. So much for her free time. Having joined the academy she quickly became aware she was watched by several individuals, and her teachers making notes whenever she progressed, or failed to do so, which were sent to her parents.

Despite being watched constantly Naveria enjoyed her time at the academy. She finally had some time, albeit little, for herself. She befriended carefully selected peers, being aware that befriending peers from lower strata or the wrong houses would lead to reprimands from her parents, who still kept track of her every move within the academy. She studied diligently and made good progress in the magical field. After a few decades of study and practice she graduated from the academy and became a mage. But she wasn't ready yet, by now she was eager to learn even more about the arcane. Naveria wanted to go to Dalaran, deeming it the best place to continue her studies, but her parents wouldn't allow it. She was to study further under the tutelage of a magister who had befriended the house of Novalight. Unquestionably loyal, Naveria agreed. The magister wasn't a very good magician, instead he had attained his position by using politics and intrigue. As such he couldn't learn Naveria much about magic, instead he learned her everything about the politics involved with being a magister as well as the subtle arts of manipulation and intrigue. Naveria proved too be a good student as both arts were a hereditary trait of the Nova's. However Naveria didn't want to study politics, she had a lust for the arcane, one that could not be satisfied by her current tutor.

Things changed with the birth of Jidaeo, namesake of an ancient Novalight patriach. It soon became evident the ambitious Jidaeo would be the next Nova instead of Naveria. As a result Naveria and the rest of the Novalight spouse were ostracized. Although most of the younger children resented Jidaeo, Naveria was grateful. Finally she had time for herself, she even managed to persuade her parents (even though she had long passed childhood) into letting her go to Dalaran with a shiny recomendation from the Academy of Silvermoon. In Dalaran she would study under the tutelage of an Archmage who learned her much about the arcane. It is there where Naveria developed most of her magical prowess. She remained in Dalaran for several centuries, returning to Silvermoon every once in a while to check upon her family.

Naveria grew old enough to marry someone important to her family. Yet Naveria was absent, and her family began questioning her loyalty. As such she was summoned to Silvermoon where her father had prepared a suitor. His name was Audorian Brightsun a prestigious paladin from the renowned house of Brightsun which would be a valuable ally of House Novalight. Naveria married the man in High Elven fashion with lavish celebrations and outrageous dowries. However she didn't like Audorian at all. Although he was a powerful paladin he was ignorant, snobbish and not very bright compared to Naveria. Even though Naveria is a dominant figure she had little to say in her relationship as Audorian took every matter to her father who simply told Naveria to comply. Naveria had sought way to dump Audorian or run away, but that would be seen as treason to the Novalight, and the penalty would be death. To make matters worse Audorian demanded a child. Naveria outright refused, resenting the idea of having to bed the man. Alas Audorian took the matter to her father, and Naveria was forced to bed the man. Naveria bore a child Audorian named Mastus Brightsun. She didn't like the child, even though he shared more similarities with his mother than his father he still bore the name of Brightsun. Naveria was bent on revenge, she would get rid of Audorian even if it meant murdering his entire family...

She was planning her revenge for several decades. Instead of raising her son she became a magister at the academy of Silvermoon. Leaving Mastus in the loving care of his father and his servants. Audorian was enraged, this was not the marriage he expected and took the matter to Naveria's father. Her father, unhappy the child bore the name of Brightsun said Audorian had everything he asked for and should bother him no longer. As Mastus grew older Naveria spent more time at home, making she Mastus would at least be more intelligent and educated than his father. She had silently spreaded slanders about the house of Brightsun for decades. Audorian had always suspected her of being the culprit, but never acted.

It was when Mastus reached adolescence when Naveria set things in motion. She took a child from the orphanage who looked just like Mastus in her care. Using both magic and alchemy she made sure the child became almost an exact copy of Mastus. She sneaked into her own house at midnight and swapped the children. Mastus was brought under to cover of darkness to an assassin who had agreed to take the son as a student. Naveria told him he was a Novalight, and that the family had need for him. She left him and returned to home where she seduced Audorian into drinking a too much wine. She slipped a bottle of poison into Audorian's wine when he was too drunk to pay attention. Audorian was knocked unconscious by the poison. And Naveria took the fake Mastus from the room and murdered him in cold blood with Audorian's blade. With the evidence planted she called to guards who rushed in and arrested Audorian as he woke up from his rouse. House Brightsun had always disputed the case, accusing Naveria of having set up the whole scene. Nevertheless Audorian was executed as the word of a magister was a command.

Naveria's father never demanded her to marry someone again and Naveria headed back to Dalaran. It was there where she fell in love with a fellow magi and gave birth to two children. The Novalights would not see her again. The only communication between them was by letter.

Four centuries later things changed. War had come to the eastern Kingdoms yet again. And Naveria's happy family life had ended. She and her family had initially lived through the Second War. Naveria returned to Quel'thalas to defend her old home against the Trolls. After the Second war she stayed in Silvermoon while her family (not the nova's) returned to Dalaran. Ten years later disaster happened. Dalaran was destroyed by Archimonde. After hearing the news Naveria hurried towards Dalaran to find out what happened to her husband and children. She never found them and presumed they were dead. She initially stayed in Dalaran trying to rebuild what was destroyed. When she heard of the attack on Quel'thalas she returned only to found out she was too late. Silvermoon was destroyed and House Novalight was in turmoil. Naveria's lust for power, no longer kept in check by the Sunwell, was greater than ever before. She would go after Kael'thas but she had duties to attend to. A strife had erupted between her father and her uncle Diel'vani. Perhaps the transformation into Sin'dorei together with the disappearance of Jidaeo destabilized the precarious balance within the family. Naveria's father was murdered and Diel'vani exiled in turn. Now the House was without a Nova, and they all expected Naveria to become the thing she never wanted.

As such Naveria became the new Nova. She restored balance, although only for a short while, to the house and tried to find the whereabouts of Jidaeo. Using scrying she managed to track him down. Jidaeo was in Icecrown fighting against the Lich King, to make matters worse, he died. Naveria lost track of him after that event unknowing Jidaeo was turned into a Death Knight. It seemed Naveria would stay Nova for quite some time.

A few years later Naveria found out Jidaeo resurfaced. She used scrying to keep an eye on him and quickly found out Jidaeo was on his way of claiming the title of Nova, leaving a bloody trail behind. On the day of the confrontation Naveria left the estate for Outland. Even though she was powerful enough to face Jidaeo, the confrontation would likely mean the death of one of them, be it Jidaeo or Naveria. Thus she decided to avoid it.

Naveria returned after hearing about Jidaeo's plans for the house, her loyalty still unwavering....
