Appearance

Narina is slightly shorter than a normal night elf of her age and has a very slight frame that still looks healthy. Her skin is a light purple colour and void of any aberrations or scars.

Personality

Narina is a very shy person and is not confident when it comes to conversing or interacting with other people. This nervousness often leads her to fumble, drop things and mess up her speech. She has a chronic fear of being publicly embarrassed or ridiculed by people and so will do very little when around people she doesn’t know as to minimise the chance of messing anything up. However, her shy and timid side is equally matched by a fiery disposition when put under stress or dangerous conditions, which cause her to become aggressive and, if others are in danger, she will spring to their aid and put their wellbeing ahead of her own. This same selflessness causes her to give up her own wants or needs in favour of others.

Alignment: Neutral

History

Narina was born as the third daughter of a Druid and a Sentinel, thirty-three years after her older twin sisters Laineth and Ninde. Unlike the twins, she was very quiet and sickly in her infant years, being a tiny child who was very weak without help. When she began to grow, her weak body began to fill out and by the time she was thirty, she was a healthy young Kaldorei albeit a little on the skinny side.

In her youth, she always watched her older sisters practice their fighting and hunting skills as part of their Sentinel training and she dreamed of being a great warrior who could defend her family and her home. When her parents decided she was well enough, she began her Sentinel training around the time Ninde started her Druidic training with their father. It was during this basic training she discovered that she was uncoordinated, not very sharp-witted and generally unskilled in any physical task. But despite her inability to learn the skills of a Sentinel quickly, she always had her older sister Laineth by her side to aid her with any troubles she had. One day, the young Kaldorei was gifted an elven blade of fine make by Laineth as something to encourage her to keep doing her best.

After a decade or two, she was still unable to wield a sword or shoot a bow to any major degree of effectiveness. This is the point she gave up on becoming a Sentinel and decided to become a hunter to feed her family. Unfortunately for her, she had never been taught the skills she needed as she was growing up and as such, made for a poor hunter. Her clumsy nature also hindered her ability to track and capture prey.

In her search to find the thing she excelled at, she tried many things including foraging, tailoring, smithing, cooking and cleaning. However, each new career she attempted, she would have trouble learning the skills she needed and even after being able to learn the basics, she would do a poor job at whatever she was attempting. Her consistent failure over decades drove her into a depression where her only companions after the death of her parents were her sisters Laineth and Ninde as well as her faithful Frostsaber, Fa’ria.

When the Highborne were allowed to return, bringing the arcane magic with them, this new art captivated Narina. Others would tell her that the arcane magic was evil and would only bring bad things but the curious girl could not see why they shouldn’t give it a second chance, thinking that if they could understand it, they could prevent the events of the Sundering from repeating. So it was that Narina began to, against the wishes of most of her family, learn the arcane from the Highborne.

This time of learning was also when Narina ventured out of Ashenvale and into this new world that had been revealed to them only a few years prior. She spent time among humans, dwarves and the other races of the Alliance, learning more about the world she had been hidden from for so long. Not only did she find that the world was full of so many different people and cultures, she also discovered that she took to arcane magic like a fish to water.

While her practice of this forbidden art was shunned by Ninde, Laineth supported Narina’s choice is it made the younger girl happy. Narina slowly became alienated by Ninde as well as the majority of Kaldorei society but she persevered beyond this to hone her craft and explore this new world. Her naturally shy nature prevented her from making many friends among these new races but she valued and treasured the few she did make.

Along with these newfound friendships and her slowly growing arcane power, Narina found love, one forbidden by her family and by her society. Keeping this powerful love secret, the young mage was happy and began to break out of her shell, becoming more comfortable with social and emotional situations. However this blissful life was not to last, as lingering doubts and insecurities tore at her from the inside, forcing her further and further away from her friends and deeper into her own world of self-deprecation and lack of self-worth. Unable to bear the burden any longer, she left the woman she loved with all her heart and swore away the arcane magics.

With no one to comfort her and nothing to hope for, Narina turned herself to the same path her sister Ninde had walked for many years. She started anew and began the path to Druidism both to appease Ninde as well as to help herself find peace with who she was and find her place in life. In Hyjal, she became Thero’shan to the Keeper Buhayos and now is slowly learning the ways of nature.
