Usual Garments/Armor: Plain clothes or lightweight leather armor, with reinforcements here and there and plenty of pockets and belts, for storing anything from ammunition, to vials or throwing knives.

Other: She can typically be found carrying a rather large firearm on her person, as well as smaller bladed weapons.

Personality

Nadya tends to be slightly more mature than her age lets on, primarily due to her life experience, and can be counted on to think rationally most of the time. A good number of life’s luxuries are lost on her, but she shows tenacity befitting of a young individual out to make something of themselves.

White’s past is both a psychological scar for her, and a drive – a motivation to keep walking forwards, and a source of lessons to be learned. The girl’s outward demeanor is relatively well-practiced and calm, even if her nature tends to lend itself to slight awkwardness. However, even a girl with Nadya’s upbringing can’t escape the realities of her age or the world around her, and she finds herself having to cope with a myriad of new things every day and trying to make the best of it. Nadya tries her best to judge individuals rather than groups, but she shows extreme caution around anything undead or fel-weaving, the subjects treading dangerously close to treacherous waters for her. She hates the Twilight’s Hammer with a burning passion.

White may seem slightly remorseless at times, particularly when the situation calls for wetwork, but the truth is, her attempt at a stony visage is something of a facade, as she does feel pity, remorse and fear just as much as anyone else – she simply tries not to externalize such feelings too often. In addition, White is prone to self-destructive behavior, whether it’s thrill-seeking, substance abuse or engaging in activities which have a chance of causing her physical pain, the problem being compounded when ‘it’s for a noble cause’.

History

Nadya White was the child of a pair of cultists, servants to dark and unspeakable gods whom they believed were ready to make some sort of return. The girl wasn’t given much freedom, kept relatively cloistered and sheltered for her first few years, until she came to see her family’s dealings as perfectly normal.

A part of a small coven, the White family wasted no time in inducting the girl into their little group, showing nearly no concern for her mental or physical wellbeing. Unfortunately, Nadya’s otherwise un-stimulated mind ate it all up with a ladle, and asked for more. Pleased with the turn of events, the group used the girl as their pawn, primarily to dispose of individuals who would prove problematic to the twisted faith’s spreading. There were problems with this approach – meals ended up being skipped in favor of lectures, nourishment was scarce, stress built up from such a young age, all factors which contributed to the girl’s slow and stunted physical development. But where a more loving parent would be appalled at their child’s affliction, the Whites rejoiced, because their puppet would look perfectly harmless for longer.

Feasts and banquets where her parents would be invited would mean Nadya was subtly adding small amounts of various poisonous powders to drinks. Night-time break-ins would be eased by the little girl hidden under the floorboards, unlocking the doors from the inside after dark. Even little accidents could be staged by small hands unfastening a bit of rope in the right place. After all, who could blame the obviously harmless, fair-haired little girl? Surely, people reasoned, she had nothing to do with it. It was also a good time to pick up on her otherwise lacking social skills, trying to make up for her otherwise sheltered upbringing.

As Nadya grew, so did her ambitions. Her focus shifted to learning the twisted magic her parents dabbled in, supposed gifts from creatures of many eyes and just as many tentacles, and her spare time was spent enraptured by the workings of various mechanical implements around the house such as clocks and the like. This all led to combat training, and ultimately to an interest in firearms. Strangely enough, the outside world felt like a distant dream as the years passed by, and many world-events never reached Nadya until the undead siege on Stormwind, but a year back.

It was during that time that her parents were exposed by pure chance, and that led to the entire little cult being wiped out, though no real blame fell on the teenage Nadya. The girl was still one year away from being of age, and she was placed in the care of the church. After extensive therapy with a very kind and gentle Priestess, and ultimately a pilgrimage to Shattrath, Nadya’s eyes were finally open to the world around her and she realized just what she’d been through.

Picking up the pieces of her life, she asked for leave from the church and got it, just as she came of age. Exploring the world meant witnessing the Cataclysm firsthand, as well as its aftermath, but Nadya has been taking the two worlds in with open arms, trying her best to find a place for herself.

Skills and Abilities

Nadya doesn’t really differ from the usual Rogue skillset, instead explaining how and why things work, interpreting cause and effect:

Cult Blade: The more magical Rogue skills are explained as working via cultist magic, making things like Shadowstep, Recuperate, Cloak of Shadows and such possible. She’s also a pretty great contortionist and poisoner. Unfortunately, the more flexible one is, the less physical strength they tend to have.

Gunsmith Cat: Nadya’s a surprisingly adept, if not particularly experienced engineer. She doesn’t have years and years of practice, but she does have a technical knack and specializes in gunsmithing and firearm modification, as well as the use of said firearms. Sadly, the focus on firearms has detracted a little from her combat effectiveness in melee.
