Nadezhda doesn't wear any cosmetics and her jewelry consists of simple earrings and a silver pendant resembling a spirit healer, which she is never seen without. She's healthily tanned with long, spindly fingers.

Personality

Eccentric and intelligent but kind. She takes every chance she can to learn something new, and is immensely curious toward the unknown. Fond of the Forsaken out of admiration for what some call "malice" but she calls "scientific fervor".

She is unable to sit still for very long, and has a bad tendency not to think her actions through before going through with them. She'll toss ethics out the window if she thinks she can learn something from it, and can talk for hours about nothing at all if she's allowed to.

On the brighter side she can be very eloquent and civil, unassuming of people and not prone to make judgements.

History

She was brought up by the Priests of Silvermoon and trained in the Light, and from an early age she regularly went to another teacher to learn the ways of Shadow. This 'indecisiveness' caused the Church to be quite irritated with her, but her talent was remarkable enough that she was not cast out, though she felt very strongly that none of the others or her superiors really liked her.

The Scourge attack on the Sunwell was her breaking point. She and many of the lower-ranking priests managed to survive by hiding in a sealed room. The screams of the doomed and the dying, however, could still reach their ears, and she was unable to stand it, struggling to free herself. Her foolish impulses to leave the room and help those suffering outside were so strong that she had to be held down and given draft after draft of strong liquor until she could no longer stay conscious. When the reconstruction began and the elves took to fel energies to sustain themselves, she also had to be forced to take the tainted mana by her superiors who were obligated to ensure her well-being. These two incidents she found unforgivable, and left the Church-- probably much to their relief.

She left the Undercity's Apothecarium to begin her search for more knowledge. She scoured the corners of both continents and even the surreal world of Outland until the day the Horde Expedition left for the northern continent, determined to bring down the Scourge that for so long had caused too much suffering on the face of Azeroth. Finally deciding to take action, she left for Northrend. Nadezhda established herself in Dalaran, and took up work as a lab assistant in the Violet Citadel. She settled there, fell in love with a Kal'dorei shadow-walker, and was beginning to establish a family.

In between this point and the current time, a series of events occured which led to the loss of Nadezhda's memories. Having lost her Kal'dorei love and their adopted child to zealous Horde, she made an attempt on her own life by poison, tricking a warlock friend to concoct a deadly brew for her.

She was, however, denied death. The warlock was too suspicious of her reasons. He followed her to her attempted final resting place, and administered an antidote. Nadezhda was still unconscious, and wanting her to live on, her friend locked away her memories with a temporary spell.

She came to on a road south of Tranquillien, unable to remember her true name or the names and faces of her loved ones. She can, however, recall odds and ends such how to wield the Light, speak Common, and the politics and current events of Azeroth. In time, the seal placed on her mind is sure to become weaker, and eventually break-- but it is not known how long this will take. For a woman who cannot remember her own true name, she's quite cheerful and calm.
