In life, Mogen was an avid learner and as his studies grew so did his fascination to learn as much arcane knowledge as humanly possible within the legal constraints of the Academies of Dalaran and the Circle of Conjurers in Stormwind. He was cool, calm and calculating. He would always brood and would not let emotions get in the way of progress except for one instance in his life that led to his untimely death.
He still retains his penchant thirst for obtaining as much knowledge and skill of the arcane as possible and now he has the power to do so with his new found immortality. Thus he takes his undeath as a blessing and not a curse. Though of course as with many Ebon Knights his priority right now is vengeance against the Scourge responsible for taking his life away. He does dabble in experiments regarding alchemy on his body and its reaction with the plague of undeath from time to time. Arcane hunger does not affect him as hard as his elven brethren do, but still his undead metabolism demands it as a spellcaster and it is this that prolongs his body from falling apart without the guidance of the Lich King.
In battle, Mogen prefers to cast his spells from afar while his comrades fight in the front line. He wields his relearned arcane magics from the time he became a Death knight, but constantly he tries to re-learn and enhance his skills, mostly with frost magic (Which he has managed to relearn mostly) and the new darker ones at his disposal.
History
A life of studying first within the floating academies of Silvermoon and then within the violet halls of Dalaran has left the boy that would later grow up to be Mogen Chandos in a state of innocence and indifference from the harsh outside world. While his parents were supportive of him while he was in Silvermoon, they believed it would have been more important for his studies to shape him in order to make it in the world. Thus, his days at Dalaran were mostly isolated, though he did learn a lot in his time. While he was spared from the initial onslaught of the Scourge forces during the Third War, seeing his homeland be destroyed led to his emotional barrier being weakened. He recklessly left the safety of the Dalaran refugees immediately to return to his homeland, only to be met with a Scourge patrol that would deliver the death he did not deserve. But that wasn't the last we would hear of the man.
Mogen was re-raised to become one of the Scourge's Death Knights. Under the Lich King's will he became an initiate of the Ebon Blade. While he still retained his personality, this helped him rise survive through the grueling first few tests of the Order as his innate thirst for learning allowed him to relearn his mastery of frost magics as well as new darker ones at his disposal such as blood magic. He soon became one of the Order's arcanists and chroniclers, often taking the role of caster in battles. When the Ebon Blade was freed from the control of the Lich King, like many of his brethren, vengeance was on their minds. He continues to serve the order to this day, often giving advice in both arcane knowledge and some military strategy.
